WOW FANTASTIC RESULTS Walkies Dog Walking Services. WELL DONE to everyone involved in finally getting this boy.

WDWS you have been brilliant and your perseverance has paid off. Just seen all the pics on your fb page and they are great. So happy for everyone and this gorgeous boy. xxx
Shelagh
Well done to all who helped this beautiful boy hope owner can be found
AlisonH
Have you tried refreshing the page. If that doesn't work send the photo in to admin and we will put it on for you.
WDWS
Hi folks, our boy is now safe and sound, I'm trying to change the poster photos but its not letting me, any tips?
skippy
Link is working ok for me Walkies - try searching for 'Shadow missing since 2010' on fb. Photos are on there. Shadow has quite a distinctive 'lightning bolt' on his face which isn't obvious from the pictures on his DL page.

I can download and message them to you if needed. x
WDWS
Hi Skippy, that link to the additional photo's of shadow has expired, Shadow did come to mind but then again so has wolfie, both long shots but worth ruling out, I'm going to try to get a clearer picture today from a friends bedroom window with a better camera so will post that later.
skippy
It's a bit of a distance and a while ago, but the stripe on his back, made me wonder about Shadow, missing from the Swinton area since 2010

More pictures of shadow here too - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.121826234587256&type=1

I hope this boy is safe and sound very soon. x

Thank you for the information Walkies (and for the message you left for me) this makes it much clearer and more understandable. Great news that he trusts his pensioner friend. Hopefully we can find a match with a missing dog. I'll update the appeal now that I know the situation.
Shelagh
Don't know if this is useful- when one of neigghbours huskeys escaped in nearby forest ,she used other dog howling to entice him back

I think it is good that he trusts the pensioner & as long as he does then he hopefully will be safe.
Hoping for a happy outcome.

Yes Claire, its the main Manchester to Liverpool line so you can see why a number of scents and people on the field is worrying. I am in the process of trying to trawl through all missing husky's on here just to see if there is anything remotely similar to him registered missing, could I ask the poster "Lost and found Huskys and Mals" have a look at their records for us? many thanks.
ClaireC
I dread to ask the question but is the railway line in use still?
WDWS
Thanks for the comments folks but just to give you additional information, the sedation and tranq was organised and supervised by Animal Wardens with a Home Office licensed darter and vet, there have been two unsuccessful attempts so far. We don't need a search party as we know exactly where he is and have him in a perfect eating routine with an 80 year old pensioner! He is actually doing amazing, his coat is gleaming eyes are bright and he has a good bodyweight. This boy is fast, very fast indeed and takes flight the minute he spots anyone other than his pensioner friend. Traps have been in place for months but he's too savvy to go near them either. He is on 20 acres of non residential, rough, privately owned land with a whole railway line for an escape route, the last time Animal Wardens tried to catch / dart him (last Tuesday) he escaped down the track not to return for three days. I have been told today that the RSPCA are now involved and formulating a plan of action.

Phone signal none existent so have now emailed Walkies for more info x

Totally agree Claire. I have now put out an appeal for somebody local who is capable & competent enough to maintain a regular feeding station at dawn and dusk and take their time to gain this boys trust. Will contact Walkies for exact location details. x
Carol
Poor fella needs to be home xxxx
Goldenfrodo
I've posted him on the Doglost North West Group. Hopefully we can get somebody to help x
ClaireC
SEDATING him is a very dangerous thing to do for this dog and indeed any animal and should NEVER be attempted! YOU COULD END UP KILLING HIM AS YOU DON'T KNOW HIS MEDICAL HISTORY. Do please think about this action he could go off and become injured in some way and who would find him!!! Not the best way forward in my opinion. Another thing to think about is that if this dog is in feral mode with everybodying trying to "catch" him will put him in such a state of anxiety and again it can lead to a traumatic end. I do believe that you need some expert care in trying to trap him in order to reach a happy and safe ending for this dog. May I suggest in this first instance that wherever this dog is being fed from is that a regular feeding pattern can be established and then perhaps a trap can be introduced when he is happily coming for food at a set regular time for approx 10 days. In the meantime I can at least ask an expert through Admin to keep an eye on this dog's page and if they feel they can help out I'm sure he will be able to achieve a happier and safer rescue for this dog.
