Update - Although still no new leads on the dog, the local police to me have been in contact a few times this year. The latest is that they have been liasing with the B'Ham police and have made several arrests regarding the fraudulent bank draft used to buy the pup, and these people have been charged and awaiting sentencing. Fingers crossed one of the people will be the THIEF...... Still waiting to find out as at the time the luton police did not have there names, or if one was the DOG THIEF. Still although no dog, lets hope he cannot then do this to anyone else. xxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Not everyone posts all the time but it doesn't mean that we're not PMing each other or have just given up. I log in each day more or less to see if there have been any developments but don't always post. Natalie has been a superstar and I think has dealt with the last 4 months or so with a great deal of courage and determination. I work for a large construction company. we have asked our drivers to print off the posters and hand them in when they deliver to sites. There is no way the so called new owners would have returned this pup to the people who stole him. Someone who steels a pup then sells it on is not going to take the pup back. I dont believe a word that they say. I think the 2 parties are linked very closely. Good luck I wish you well in your search.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The new 'owners' are telling lies.... he has been hidden somewhere and they are trying to save themselves. How selfish to put yourself first before the needs of an innocent puppy... at this rate you'll have one screwed-up adult bulldog on your hands...... do everyone a favour, especially that little pup and give him back.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We know these people are monitoring this site as they were given the poster by the vets. We would just like them to know that the poster has been e mailed to all vets and wardens all over Birmingham and more importantly all dog owners registered with us-that is how we are getting the addresses that the police are being given by us - lots more calls coming in. Be aware that we have a private forum for our mods where info can be passed around and what we know does not go on this forum. Other dog owners are watching you and we will not stop until the puppy is back with its rightful owners.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I was really hoping this baby would be in Blue this morning.......I've been away for a few days and trying to catch up....Sorry, I might have missed something, but have the Police persued the Dealer to whom the puppy has been returned to? and surely at the very least at this moment in time the people who "bought" this baby were handling stolen goods shouldn't they have been charged. If they loved this baby as they say they do, they would NEVER have returned him to the dealer in the first place, they SHOULD be helping to find him at all costs. If you are reading these posts, put your feelings to one side PLEASE think of this puppy and his wellbeing and help return him to his rightful owner. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I had to check up on this little boy before heading off to bed..I had hoped to see him in the blue..I may be missing something here..if the police have questioned them both tonight..and the boyfriend was on the phone to you hilst the g/friend was being questioned..why oh why have the police not arrested them both for handling stolen property..The police surely had enough evidence to prove that these ppl had owned the dog..and also to say they have recieved payment back from the person who stole the dog..leads me to think the police should of arrested them both and taken them in for questioning...I am praying this boy is home very soonxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Latest update - STILL NO DOG -WHERE IS HE - PLEASE HELP FIND HIM The police went a few address tonight, first to were we thought pup was turns out to be her mothers address. The address that the vets were given on the vet card was still a fake no one lived there, but the new owners lived 30 seconds away- they were still lying. After a few more enquiries the police went to the new owners house as her mother and father were told they will be arrested on the spot. I then had the boyfriend on the phone ringing me from a withheld number - telling me they got the dog from the known dog dealer on friday 2nd june(day after he left me). They told me they paid ?1000 , but told the vets ?800 and the police ?850. WHICH ONE IS IT????? I asked why the did not go to the police they said because they were scarred of losing the dog as they have fallen in love. So instead they phoned the dog dealer gave it back to him and got there money back. They told him if he didn't give back there money they would go to the police.!!!! BUT the boyfriend said that they loved the dog and would I let them buy it, I asked if he had all the kennel club forms etc and he said yes. I asked him to call me back in 5 minutes as so many people were trying to call me - it is 2 hours later and no phone call. At the time he called me the police were in his house talking to the the girlfriend. I wander how can he buy a dog that I do not have?? they said they gave it back to the dog dealer - so how am I going to sell it to them??? Looks like they are able to get it back if they really want to, as they easily gave it back to the dog dealer. Not really suitable owners as they did not put the dog first. Who knows what turmoil he must be in, and the shock may get to much and trigger all sorts of problems. He got my mobile from the doglost poster the vet gave him, and only bother to call to help himself as he wanted my puppy. The girlfriend was very verbal, and seemed to forget I have her address aLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Let us hope this is all sorted really soon. Jackielb, my vets are great but it took me eight and a half months to convince them to scan all new dogs to surgery, they realised that if they actively promote microchipping that they should also give value for money and make the service work to it's full ability, unfortunately this is not always the case. I and many others feel that we are being ripped off if the system isn't being made to work properly and it starts with the vets taking responsibility and making the system work, that doesn't mean detaining the people but it does mean taking as much detail as possible and providing the police and owners with details, many vets surgeries now have cctv which can be used for identifying cars/people etc. As Dee has rightly pointed out it is not all vets and we are grateful for that but she is also right when she points out that when a vet fails to pick up on a missing/stolen dog then we are all incredibly upset by it. Fingers tightly crossed that your puppy boy is safely back with you very soon. Very good that the police are being helpful in this case. I can't imagine anything worse for a reputable breedser than to discover that their puppy might not be in safe hands and the contract was not entered into in good faith.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The police are now doing car checks ,raiding several addresses, from where my friend followed this woman yesterday in the car chase. She has also pin pointed where the dog thief is, and said she rung him up to take the dog back - probably told him all this info as well. The police are well up for the action - so fingers crossed this will be a result tonight xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The police are raiding birmingham address as we speak - yesterday there was a car chase and the people who took the dog for his injection did a runner. They were made aware he was stolen property - and lied to the vets saying that they would go straight to the police and they never. They also gave a fake address to the vets about were they lived, this was before they were told the dog was stolen. Which proves they already knew. These people have been spoken to by the police tonight. The woman named the person she brought the dog off as the dog theif that stole it from ne. She has since got scarred and handed the dog back to him, instead off going to the police - so all she cared about was her money - and she even lied to the police tonight, and then has told them half a story as they are now going to arrest her husband - she is in water too hot and too deep. I have also learned that a 7week old staffie pup has been stolen in the same area in the last 5 minutes. Obviously the dog theif is at large tonight - doing what he knows best.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The net is closing. The people must live fairly local to the vets, and unless they keep it shut up all day and night (which seems unlikely if they have bothered to get it jabbed) it will soon be seen by someone. Good luck and keep up the pressure. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Another very complicated case where too many people have caused too many problems. If the 'owners' are totally innocent I hope they do the right thing, handling stolen property makes you as bad as the thief! I dont know if things have changed but, if you have car details you can get an address from DVLA, for a price, I did this myself about 10 years ago with a hit and run..... I was successful in getting the address... its worth a try. Hope this little boy is blue soon. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jackie i can honestly say that the 1st vet nurse who was at the vets was very helpful as was the vet and the only reason that the puppy was'nt taken with force was that they didn't want any reprisals and their wishes were respected but the police however have dealt with this case very badly in my opinion.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

jackie unfortunately there are few vets who assist us with microchipping matters - there are a few special ones who do however, and hundreds who display our posters. Those who are good are cherished and applauded - but the bad ones in your profession sadly give the rest of you a bad name. vet bashing therefore in those cases is inevitable - and they have to help themselves. we recognise they aren't police and cannot hold owners - and in this case we understand they have helped enormously. Sorry if you are personally offended though.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

BC re your post about "vets and police dragging their heels" I work at a vets and am sick of the vet-bashing that goes on on this forum. Vets are not police - we cannot detain owners or confiscate animals. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I expect that this couple have fallen in love with this pup and will be reluctant to give him up. Hopefully they will think about this and do the right thing and contact you or doglost. They did show responsibility by taking him for jabs and as they were conned by the same man, I presume, who tricked you, you may be able to come to some arrangement . If you have name and address , could you not ask someone to go and speak to these people? ChrisLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes - POLICE NOT INTERESTED. I will be called in a few days time, when someone starts to 'INVESTIGATE' my information. This will then be on the cheque and not the dog. Even though I was at the police station at 3pm today as the people who have my dog were at the vets and I was trying to get them to sort it.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi everyone thank you so much for all your help and support. xxxx Hopefully you have read this and will do the right thing. You may have purchased him unknowingly - but you seem to be helping these dog dealers/snatchers. As you are not coming forward with info, or helping the police, therefore you are no better than them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

With regards to the papers, its so easy to get counterfeit KC documents as well as Doglovers Registration papers (and DLR papers are not pedigrees either) so do not be duped. People should learn that there is no such thing as a cheap pedigree dog, if you are buying any dog below the current market value, check it out thoroughly, it could be nicked, it could be a badly bred pup which results in serious health issues. Please if you must buy go to a reputable breeder or consider a rescue dog.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So many people who buy a pup have no idea what the difference is between a Kennel Club Registration certificate and a Pedigree certificate . Told its pedigree and given some made up posh looking peice of paper with Pedigree written all over it. Happens all the time. Why did they produce "papers" at the vet? Hope this is definately your puppy and you havent put the fear of God into an innocent couple ! ChrisLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Bought the dog in good faith!!! Im sick of hearing that. If you buy a puppy especially that young ., wouldnt you be suspicious if you didnt see at least one parent or siblings or even evidence of where they lived as pups...Are people really that stupid. No... Did someone get the reg of the car and make etc. I think this puppy is going to be in the blue soon!!! Get the creeps and get the police to act on anything that you may think was done illegally. Best of luck ,ChrisLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Update: Vets confronted new owner's and showed them the poster they admit to buying the dog in good faith and told the vet they would go straight to the police station which is 5 minutes away. Someone followed them and they did not go to the police station but drove around for 25 minutes in a circle then sped away!!!! Hardly the action of a genuine person. They have registered their details with the vets and this should be released to the police.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Police do not seem to understand the urgency of this matter-the dog has been vacinated and left the vets-however a local helper is following them right now and owner's boyfreind is on his way back up to Birmingham. Probably an innocent couple caught up in the middle.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just had a positive ID of this dog from a vets in Birmingham-the puppy was brought in for its first vaccination and luckily we had e mailed them a poster of the puppy-the couple are coming back at 3.00pm- Owner has gone to her local polise to ask for assistance. It must be upsetting for you Natalie and he is lovely! but never ever take a cheque , bankers draft or anything other than cash for a puppy. Always take name and address(Iknow you did) If they phone you always try to phone themback or .use 1471. If number with held ,ask yourself why? Tell them you only take cash before they come. These people wanted a nice puppy without paying for it , may have done it before! If you have all these details .reg no..etc Why arnt the police acting on it.? It must be obtaining goods by deception , fraud or something. As a breeder of A.C. Spaniels I think I am nice to people but ,OH,am I wary!!! Best of luck.Wish I could help you but am in S.E.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

welldone Guv77.. be carefull, but if this dog was bought under good faith the owner has nothin to hide !! When my dog was stolen I was advised by the police that if I was certain that I had seen her to dial 999 which is treated as an emergency and as far as I was concerned it was.. don't put yourself at risk..just discreetly follow the owner home and then contact the police ..Good luck..so many dogs go missing from the LU area, It would be great to get another in the blue xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ok, now whatever you do..please take care not to put yourself at risk. If it's possible can you get a piccy of this pup and the bloke (obviously without being seen)? Also just observe him, and gather info on him from shopkeepers etc. Do you know where he lives? Let us know as soon as you think you've got something. Again - be careful! xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
