Dogs sometimes get picked up then escape again, believe it or not. Best to follow up all sightings while still searching the original area.

How would she get to meadowhall, it's a long way from where she went missing, is there anyone nearby with a tracker dog that could search the woods, they're very near to where she went missing and she might be lost in them. Ill keep a look out incase she's still local, hope you find her soon.
DogLostOwl
Good idea to poster that area anyway, as dogs can turn up in all sorts of unexpected places.
DogLostOwl
Is the man able to tell the difference between a chi and a min pin? Did he see a collar?
DogLostOwl
I hope it is her, but have to comment that we have a min pinscher missing since last year in that area who went awol. She is a good hunter so might well have survived.

Fiona - thank you so much. I had a call from a man who says he saw her running near Meadow Hall / airport area. Please please can anyone in the area pass the word around as this is a long way from where she went missing but he is convinced it was her.
Fiona Kilner
I have driven up Abbey lane towards the Whatsheaf pub at parkhead tonight. I couldn't see anything , do we know roads at Parkhead she has been spotted in or she was lost in? I could alter my route as I drive daily in that area.
Frances Bowler
I can get no confirmation that Ivy was involved in an RTA so am continuing to look for her. Police and vets have no record of an accident on Sat 23rd.
Frances Bowler
Thank you so much for the continued help. I am unable to speak to streetforce directly as Sheff council take a msg and pass it on. The same applies to environmental services. I spoke to all the vets mentioned on Monday 25th morning regarding Ivy being missing and all took her details. I hope if she had been taken in they would have connected the info. I also think they are closed on Sat night but I spoke to the emergency vet who also had no info. The police were notified by me that she was missing on 24th. The man who emailed me re RTA said she was run over near The Wheatsheaf pub on Abbey Lane on way towards Whirlow. He said 2 cars had stopped so he assumed someone would contact me as he saw a collar on her. I am so confused and going a little crazy! Thank you again for your support.

Have you contacted Rain Rescue and Thornbury rescue? If you post something on their facebook pages I know people will help. We'll be walking in Eccelsall woods tomorrow so we cn have a look on the road and in the area for you.
chrissie
I don't believe she was involved in a rta as she is chipped the first thing a vet would do is scan her and Sheffield streetforce ( tel no 01142734567) also scan !! so I cant see that it was her involved vets local to abbey lane are abbeymoor vets on abbey lane tel 01142747605...vets 4pets abbeydale road tel 01142364070 and park veterinary hospital also on abbeydale road tel 01142363391 ...good luck and I hope this baby is home safe and sound soon xx

Hi Frances I will contact you tomorrow to discuss the best way to follow up on this and I agree with Clare that surely somebody involved would have contacted you via the tag if it was Ivy. Everything crossed it wasn't her x Last edited: 2013-11-29 00:05:43 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
Clare
I would really hope that if people had bothered to stop and it had been her they would have read the tag and contacted you. Fingers crossed for you x

I've had an email from a man who says he saw her knocked down by a car on Saturday night on Abbey Lane, S11. He said he was driving past and a few cars had stopped. It seems too coincidental not to be my girl but if anyone has any advice on how to verify this I would be so grateful. Heartbroken.

Bumping Ivy's page as she is advertised every day this week in the SHEFFIELD STAR .
Ivy's owners were visiting a relative when Ivy escaped from the garden . They have informed the dog warden, are checking regularly with the local stray kennels and have contacted all local vets. Petlog are aware and have her flagged on their system as missing .
As they live a four hour drive away from where Ivy was lost her owners would really appreciate any local help with postering .
Anyone finding a dog is required by law to inform the dog warden.
Hoping for news of Ivy very soon x

That makes it difficult Frances, if you're that far away. You can do a lot online though, if you google business/clubs etc for that area you should have lots of places that you can email a poster to. Some will get ignored but it should get a few new pairs of eyes looking out for her. Don't forget to email a poster to all the vets around the area so that they can scan any similar dogs that come into their surgeries. You can find all vet details on the green Find Any UK Vet tab on this page.
Frances Bowler
Thank you Sue, we live 4 hours away from where she went missing so I am relying on a family member to re-poster the area.

I hope someone has taken her in so that she's safe. Maybe some small leaflets through letter boxes would get a response?

Spotted wandering around Parkhead Crescent, S11 at 7.30 on Saturday night with collar on. Please please keep an eye out.

Sorry to see that IVY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (60504)
