I would like to thank everyone for the effort and offers of help people have offered myself and mum. Many apologies for not being able to update, however we have all come down with flu. As I'm the one with the computer, not my mum who has been dependent on me for this, as well as transport. Just to point out there were other numbers for point of contact and my partner is dependent on his mobile for. I don't think his boss

A dog matching Georges description was found in Waitrose Brackley today & has been collected by dw so will most likely be at Forest Lodge

Advertised in this weeks Countryman's Weekly magazine. I hope it brings some news.

Another lady has posted this information on FB:
Afternoon all, just been approached by my neighbour and asked to put the word out, vets are also putting out a warning in the local area, several dogs have been taken from back gardens over the last few weeks, a white transit van has been linked to the dogs disappearances, local authorities are aware but advice is to not leave dogs in gardens unattended.

The lady who went to check by the lake last week has just posted this information on fb - I just met a lady I know by sight who told me that two men from a white van went into a garden in Beaumont or waynefleet and when asked what they were doing there they said looking for their little black dog with a red collar. Supposedly they found him. Evidently there have been more attempts to get dogs over the weekend. Vets are notifying other surgeries and also warning owners to beware. Just too horrible to imagine.

Val has managed to speak with owner this morning - she cant get on to post the info, but this is what Val said - Has always been an escapologist in the year owner has had him. Went out as usual then opened a poorly shut gate and cleared off. Owner went to him but ran off.He is wearing a red collar with disk and phone no. No dog name...Sensible. She has friends looking out for him. Have given her.Ardley kennels no. in case he crosses county borders
Algernon TrustLisaP
Last night someone saw a dog on its own by the entrance to Spencer Gardens, it was wearing a collar but was dark so couldnt see she could just hear the tag, I have asked if George has a tag that jangles, it was too dark for the person to see much

LisaK Algernon Trust, would you be able to text me a way of contacting you please, need some advice regarding the area I think you are in with regards to another missing dog, thanks Sarah - 07896 190647

Me too!! Very sad and frustrated! Not even sure a mobile is essential, so long as someone is co-ordinating centrally from a landline.
Caz
So true LisaK, getting so frustrated & angry with situation now, If I had some spare pennies I would buy them a mobile :-( Will just keep driving around area & asking folks I meet but so much open countryside it needs organised search!
Algernon TrustLisaP
I feel so sad for George, so many people wanting to help him :'(
Caz
can they not "borrow" son-in-laws mobile over the weekend? so we can get things moving on this poor lad, failing that we all know people are constantly upgrading there mobiles & the old one normally gets put in draw & forgotten, so can they not ask friends, neighbours etc if they got one to loan, Sim cards are easy to get hold of from most shops. Have there been any sightings at all, if so when & where? I'm around most of the weekend so if a group search is organised count me in. Will keep checking on here for any news

Tomorrow is Saturday. I've not done this before, but could the area person from DL work with the owner today/this evening to work out the search area, meeting point start time & central point of contact for a group search & tracking tomorrow morning? Isn't tracking only possible within a few days of the dog going missing? - the kind offer from K9 Tracker, must be used soon, surely!! If this is to happen, we need to start spreading the word over DL, and local sites now, to aim for a bigger search group on Saturday morning! If we can get a group together we can do poster-ing too.

If the son-in-law is at work is it possible he can lend his phone to the daughter or owner as this seems the key in communication with this one. I was contacted and offered to go and track with Tiga but with a lack of communication I was unable to get any details. Maybe a mobile should be purchased for this - I bought a £20 sim card recently and got a phone with it - it is my emergency phone when out tracking. There seems to be a number of people waiting and willing to help.
Algernon TrustLisaP
Hi Mollies mom, thats really kind of you, Ive been in touch with the owners daughter but it seems there is no-one with a mobile that can co-ordinate a group search as the above mobile is for son in law who is at work, therefore owner & daughter have been searching on their own & ask that anyone able to help gives the owner a call on the above landline or her daughter on 01327857113Last edited: 2013-11-21 20:06:15 by LisaP

Just a thought can I suggest alerts go out to NN12, as this cover's Towcester & Silverstone which borders on Brackley so lots folks work or shop Brackley as well as travelling A43, A422 daily
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Tx...please call number on poster.
Caz
I'm just down the A43 in Towcester, more than happy to join a group search for George.
Algernon TrustLisaP
George is chipped to his old owners still, however the rescue he was rehomed through & the chip company are aware of new owners details & that he is missing - there are no new sightings of George since Monday morning
Algernon TrustLisaP
A lady has kindly been & searched the stream bit that runs from Hinton Road to St James Lake that is walled this afternoon with no luck :(

I have updated on my posts on the local sites asking if anyone locally is able to co-ordinate then to let you know - I have also copied & pasted all the comments from this page & on facebook to the owners daughter as Im not sure she is able to check here, they are grateful for all the help
DogLostAngus
we are trying to organize a search but we do not have a local coordinator on the ground in the area and communications at the mo are a little difficult as owner does not have a mobile - please bear with us as we try to establish a proper line of contact & continuity :-)
Mollie & Will's Mum
Is anyone organising a group search? I am miles away in Hertfordshire and don't know the area, so most useful if a group search is being organised? Gave my number for contact yesterday x
DogLostOwl
Have just learned that George is still chipped to a previous owner.
DogLostAngus
We have an offer for tracker dog to assist with the search - they are contacting owners directly - can anyone local suggest a safe place for cars to park up for searchers ? Would like to get some bodies out looking today while we have light and reasonable weather
Algernon TrustLisaP
Owner will be out this morning on her scooter to look around where the possible sighting was & also around St James lake which is where he is usually walked - the landline number on page is for owner, the mobile is for her son in law who is at work, her daughter can also be contacted on 01327857113 for those offering help with searching - I have posted in local groups asking anyone who can think of any disused drains, storm covers or other such places George may have got stuck to check them out
Mollie & Will's Mum
Have posted on DL Northampton that I'm happy to help if a search is being organised tomorrow. I'm not from the area but could come and help someone who does. Please text details of search if there is one to 07917 407 762 x

Possible sighting posted in Doglost Northamptonshire: Gabbie Caswell Hi, can't be 100% this is the dog I saw as I'm terrible with breeds, but on Monday morning just before 8.30 there was a dog just past the little Tesco/ Mercedes roundabout as you're heading into Brackley from the A43. He was wearing a red collar I'm sure and was definately black but I thought had a white patch on his chest- could be mistaken though. He looked ok but definately lost, there were a couple of people trying to coax him and the car in front stopped to help. I'm sorry I didn't see if they caught him as I couldn't stop but they were definately close. I hope he is found safe and well and returned to his owners shortly. Sorry I can't be of any more help.
Algernon TrustLisaP
I have reshared & tweeted & also on local groups to let people know that searching help is required
DogLostAngus
I have put a plea out on Doglost Northamptonshire for helpers on the ground to check these areas - we have had a number of dogs found in these culverts recently where the sides are too slippy for them to exit on their own
DogLostOwl
I have been looking at the area on Google satellite maps. It is very close to the A422 and A43, where obviously landscaping has been done, and there will be culverts, drains, underpasses. George could even have got through to the other side of one of these A roads, which could explain why he has not been seen. Please can any volunteers check out this area, as well as around St James Lake.
