Carol, surely if that was the case all they would need to do is say they sold the dog on and it's not theirs anymore. They wouldn't have paid the release fee either. Microchips don't count as proof of ownership so they could have easily denied the dog was theirs.
Carol
Yes but if owners chained him up then the outcome is awful ,was he stolen from them or what , we need to know surely xxx
mayjul
excellent news!
Esther
Well done Rawwwchazli. So glad there was a happy outcome
Clare
Thats such good news. Im sure his owner was very grateful to you although they probably dont even know that you took care of him. Well done for everything you did to keep him safe. Really happy that you were able to find out Maggie and he didnt have a long stay in the kennels. I love a happy ending! :)
Rawwwrchazli
OMG! That's amazing!!
I'm so happy!
Thanks for finding out for me!

Awh, bless him!
Maggie
I emailed Dog Warden to try and find out what happened to him.

I'm VERY pleased to let you know Rawwwrchazli that he was chipped and returned to his owner the same day :)

Well done and thank you for keeping him safe
Rawwwrchazli
I don't know :(
I'm so upset about it.
I've been on all the local rescue websites to see if he was transferred to one of them, and nothing.
mayjul
I am so sorry to hear that. Is there any way anyone can find out any more information for you to put your mind at rest. I do hope so.
Rawwwrchazli
We didn't get him back.
We rang the warden on Wednesday and they wouldn't give us any information.
:( I hope he was claimed and not PTS.
mayjul
Is there any news yet? Hopefully the ten days are now up and he is back with you.
Rawwwrchazli
I hope so, I'm so worried about him. God only knows what he went through before we found him.

I will update again when/if we get him back :)
Clare
It will go by quickly then he'll be back with you. Poor boy he must be so confused. I agree its strange that he seems well cared for. If he was stolen then dumped 10 days should be enough time for someone to track him down. Please keep us updated x
Rawwwrchazli
He's still with the Warden.
I'm still having a hard time with the face he had no ID but is so well cared for.

We have a home all ready for him if we get him back :)
DogLostreggiemollieros
Thank you for the update. I am sure they will look after him as they know he has somewhere to go :)
Rawwwrchazli
We did ask about that, but apparently it's law now that they be processed in a Warden Kennels. We can take the place of a rescue centre if he's not claimed, but he has to be with them for at least 10 days.
We are to ring up on Wednesday next week and arrange for him to come back to us if he's not been picked up and fill out all that paper work and what not :)
DogLostreggiemollieros
If he's not claimed in the meantime I bet he will be very happy to see you again. One thing though, I thought that the dog warden could sign a found dog over to finder for 28 days. The time in the kennels is usually 7 days but if a dog stays with the finder then it is extended for some reason. would they not let you keep him at home? Anyway is great that you have arranged to have him back in the 10 days.
Rawwwrchazli
Now with St Albans Dog Warden for 10 days
Rawwwrchazli
OH NO!

The Dog Warden is taking the Staffy! We can't legally foster him :(
I'm gutted.
He's going to hate it, and a Staff in a Kennel System is more or less a dead Staff.

Wish we hadn't rang them now!
Poor guy!

EDIT

They keep him for 10 days, then we can foster him if no one claims him :)Last edited: 2013-11-04 10:19:40 by Rawwwrchazli
Rawwwrchazli
Maybe, or he was stolen and dumped when they realised how strong he is.Last edited: 2013-11-03 19:27:10 by Rawwwrchazli
Clare
Maybe the owner delibrately abandoned him there. If that is the case I hope he finds a new home.He sounds like a lovely boy. Strange he had no collar on.
Rawwwrchazli
Not heard a dickie bird from any owners returning from a night at a mates or pub to collect their dog from the shop.
He's still here with us.
Carol
Well done for helping this poor boy xxx
Clare
Wow lucky boy that you came along when you did. Good luck x
Rawwwrchazli
No way we could leave him. Luckily my mum is a dog handler and trainer so we have all spare cages and bowls, leads, collars, beds, blankets....you name it!
He was jumping up at everyone that walked past, he was so desperate to get away.
He's really kissy and cuddly so SOMEONE MUST be missing him.

I've checked all the lost dogs adds and not found him on there, so he will be taken for a chip scan on Monday at our local vet, hopefully we can find his mum and dad!
Clare
Well done for looking after him. Poor boy left out on a night like this. Hope he finds his owner.
Kinsally
Thank you so much for taking this poor boy in. It doesn't bear thinking about him being left out there on a night like this. Fingers crossed he will be chipped & his owners I hope will be very grateful to have him back & know he's been looked after.
