  • Other Info We only had misty for 24 hours as we was rehoming her for a friends elderly relative when she escaped, so she doesn't know where she is. We are in the Loughton area of Essex and misty has been living in the walthamstow area, it could be a possibility that she is either hiding somewhere nearby in Loughton or she may have even found her way back to walthamstow?

Thanks for your advice everyone. I've done everything advised and left details with 9 different vets, my local council and the pdsa. I've also been walking the streets every night like a mad woman with favourite food and toys of Mistys. Keeping Fingers crossed!

Hope you find her soon. You need to let the chip company asap. Put her litter tray outside n her blanket or something with her smell on it on the line, to let her get her own scent in case she doesn't know which house to come back to. Good luck.

PS Spayed females have a territory of only about two garden spaces.

Try cooking some chicken, as the smell may tempt her back, and keep calling hner. Really best to keep a cat not used to an area for at least a week, as they will try, and get back to the area they are familiar with, as cats are not too keen on change. I had to keep my rescue cat (Semi feral) indoors for one month because she had been straying. Also best for the would-be owner to have her spayed, as then she wont wander too far. Also if you have something with her scent ond, and if possible put it in the garden. Cats rely very much on scent, so this may help bring her home. I would advise the person who is going to adopt her to keep her indoors for a few days, until she is used to her new home. Good luckx Keep us posted.
