Hi. I am the person who came across a black female cocker spaniel on Werneth Low Stockport/Hyde SK14. She has a white stripe down her chest. Her tail is not docked. I took her to the vets but they could not detect a micro chip. Query pregnant? If you would like any further details, please give me a ring. I have a short video of her if that might help to identify her. She is a beautiful dog and wonderful with the children.
Babs 21
There has been a female Cocker Spaniel found at Wermeth Low Manchester yesterday.24/9/14 The finder has informed the dog warden but they have said she is not chipped and possibly pregnant. Chip could have worked its way out or moved. Message for Debi - was pleased to see your comment dated 29/8/14. Wanted to call you on finding out about Kayla's disappearance but was a little wary of doing so being Kayla's ex-owner. Please let me know if you would be open to me calling you so as to work together to try and get Kayla back (no hassle guaranteed) - I only want what is best for her.
AlisonH

As the ex-owner I have the microchip number of this dog - should you wish to update the information then this I think should be done via admin. Please let me know via another comment and I will then contact admin with this detail which may enhance the search for this dog.

I am this dog's original owner and I have just found out about this tragic occurrence and I must say that I am appalled. She was very dearly loved by me and my family but due to serious unforeseen circumstances I was unable to keep her. I entrusted her to the care of the West Yorkshire Dog Rescue where she was placed with a foster family and rehomed about 5 days later - all of this in July of last year when Kayla was aged 7 months - she was born on the 26 December 2012 so would have been little more than 9 months old when her pups were born - really only a puppy herself. I really feel that Kayla should not have been allowed to get pregnant and the Rescue should have had a duty of care towards her to prevent this. I don't wish to cause any hassle whatsoever for her new owner who obviously made a big mistake in allowing this to happen and has paid dearly for this. Obviously the pups will have by now got new homes so I doubt that it will be possible to trace them. My main concern now is for their mum - Kayla and what the thieves will have done with her once the puppies were weaned. I would like to offer help and support in trying to find her - so please let me know if there is anything i can do to help in finding her.
Sarah
Could you check out this one found. I can't see a clear enough picture of Layla's chest but you may well know and it may be worth an enquiry

Debi
I Would like to thank all the kind people who have messaged emailed and called. Regarding possible sightings and information about KAYLA and the puppies. We have changed the time of theft due to no poo or wee on rear patio. As the pups were only 2 weeks KAYLA was still in recovery and doing well. We would appreciate any info how ever small and hope for the safe return of our family members.

While it isn't ideal for puppies to be outside it is certainly warm enough at night for young pups, I live quite close and don't have the heating on and often sleep without my duvet because it is so warm at night.

There are a lot of horse riders in the area, quite a few livery yards and the Rockwood Hunt kennels are close, I am disabled so can't get out and about as I would like.

Yes I can see why we need to concentrate on getting Kayla and her puppies back home however the rescue needs checking out as well. I signed a contract when I adopted my dog to have her spayed at the earliest opportunity. She would have been spayed except she was too young. I do hope you find Kayla and her off spring very soon.

Admin
Sorry to see that KAYLA is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (58167)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
