Hello everyone, I have received an email this afternoon from Rita, Josie's owner, and it is fabulous news. Can Josie's status be updated to reunited, whoop! Rita is donating to Dogs Lost too ... very kind.

Lesley

She has been found, one of the farmers wives phoned today to say that a neighbouring farmer had found a very small terrier hiding in a ditch and had taken it round to her. She wasn't sure it was Josie so got some other people who had seen her to check also. She is in a bit of a state but has been drinking and had a bit of food, l will go up later today and stay over a couple of nights before bringing her home.

Can l say a big thank you for keeping me going, l would obviously like to donate something to your charity and will be doing this today. Thank you to everyone who has helped can l ask that the status be changed to reunited on the web page. I am still pinching myself.

With kind regards

Rita

Josie has flipped before, seems to go mad all of a sudden. In the past l have had to pin her down in order to calm her and it takes a good 10 minutes. I haven't given up and will try to get up to Murrow on Wednesday again, the neighbours are being really good and continue to look.

Rita your comment "she seemed to flip and just tore off as if she wasn't going to stop" sounds as if she could have been stung by a wasp. Don't give up hope as 4 days is no time at all especially when a dog is frightened. Just ask the neighbours to keep on looking especially at dawn and dusk as that is when scared dogs tend to come out of hiding and go looking for food. (Alison)

Hi, l am the owner and have been looking here. Josie is a timid little thing and l fear she may have gone into hiding, meaning she may never be found. Unfortunately l have had to return home from my visit but have asked for the local neighbours to keep an eye out. Josie went missing in Cants Drove, which is between Murrow and Guyhirn, she seemed to flip and just tore off as if she wasn't going to stop but l felt her age and the fact that she has not been that active during the warm weather, would have limited how far she would go. I did walk a long way in all directions but perhaps not far enough. I am trying to remain positive but it is now 4 days.

Don't think the owner looks on here Lesley. You should give her a call on the contact number above.

Can you describe where you last saw Josie in Murrow? Lesley

Thank you Belle I have sent the photo of the found dog to her owner. She was wearing a red collar when she went missing.

This is part of an email from Josie's owner.

Thank you for all your help. Unfortunately we do not live in Murrow where Josie went missing, we live in Bedfordshire which is just over an hour away by car and we have had to return home.

I have checked all the ditches, barns, fields nearby several times and have drawn a blank. The neighbours all know the situation as do the two local farmers and their farm labourers. I have also been to the houses in the roads nearby. Josie is not a very active dog, she was slowing down with age but then you never know how far they may go when distressed.

There are no local shops or supermarkets near by in fact the place is very rural but l will circulate posters where l can. I have contacted the most local dog pound the one the local council use and have rang them everyday, Josie is very distinctive even though she is not chipped. She has a wonky jaw which makes her look like she is smiling, everyone comments on it so it does stand out and she has a red collar The police also know in case there is an accident involving a dog.

Still no sign of little Josie. Owner has checked in all the barns and out buildings, ditches, wooded areas and fields.
