And any new legislation needs to be enforced properly if it is going to work....I suppose they still have a couple of years to iron out the wrinkles, I hope anyway

Under the new legislation, you can be fined £500 is you refuse to chip your dog......that is if they even admit it is theirs, these irresponsible owners don't deserve a dog.....then you have poor homeless dog, that now needs rehoming, whatever way you look at it, it feels like your going round in circles
Recently read that a healthy dog is PTS in the UK everyday, not sure how correct this figure is, but it is so so sad

Chipping will help however we have dogs come into pound who are chipped but when owners contacted say they have sold or moved the dog on..or deny they ever had a dog so hoping legistation will be put into place to cover this...irresponsible dog owners can still deny their dogs under current proposed policy.

Just researched, and dog chipping will be compulsory from 1st march 2015 for wales and april 2016 for the rest of UK ( pity it couldn't be sooner) and dogs trust have set aside £6 million for free chipping at their 18 centres

He/she is gorgeous, I wish people would microchip their dogs.....should be a legal requirement.

Keep us updated, if no one claims him or a rescue space can't be found, let us know, I will get on the jungle drums

Just confirming whether male or female...phone call said male..but dw said girl on a post..sorry if this causes issues but will be resolved asap
