Posting for my neighbour George, he walks his two dogs in Witherdon woods, he came past a Beige dog he thinks looks like a Cockapoo?.
He said it looks a bit of a state & has probably been lost for a few days, he couldn't pick it up because of his two dogs in the car but is reporting it to the RSPCA.
It was last seen on the road between the old broadwoodwidger school & upcott cross ( Germans week turn off) he was chewing on an old dead fox near Witherdon woods.
Please share if anyone knows someone who may be missing their pooch.

Cheers

missstacey4 - if you highlight the link below, right click and go to, it will open for you. The picture shows A LOST springer spaniel has been handed into police in Cowes.
Isle of Wight police are seeking the owner and put a photo of the dog up on Twitter tonight. It said: "Cowes police have been handed a brown springer spaniel by a member of the public, found by Crossfield Avenue. Please call 101 if you have lost this dog."
missstacey4

It might be an idea when posting links to also put what page the link is to, in case the original post is taken down later, or the group is a 'closed' group. Even better, send a text to say you have posted a comment here to alert Stacey. Thanks X

Fantastic there's been a sighting. Where exactly was the sighting? Will bump
missstacey4
She could possibly be about 6weeks pregnant!!!
missstacey4
Thank you. Had a possible sighting last Wednesday, the holiday makers rang me on the sat morning, then we had a really good search around the area and put more posters up but have heard nothing else. She was possibly spotted around 4 miles away from the farm near Germans week.
DogLostFergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
Thank you Ladanza, good of you to do that. It will be just one pair of eyes, at right place, right time. There was a sighting around 24/7 and a search by the family. Hope Stace can update on that.
Ladanza
hiya, I have forwarded this to my niece and asked her to share to her friends, she lives in that area, sorry I can't do more, i'm not in the area, good luck xx

Terence Voysey
I have just rang Stacey as one of my Facebook friends just east of Okehampton has posted "Anyone lost a chocolate labrador?" Her friend nearby has found one. I just checked DogLost and found this page. Telephone number passed across. Fingers crossed.

Just want to add that the family do not own another brown dog so the one she was thought to have been with a few months ago was probably not Tilly at all. More likely other walkers dogs. Have seen plenty of walkers with several, so everyone please keep a look out.
missstacey4
Hi, have emailed you. Thank you very much. Got everything crossed we have her home safe and sound as soon as possible, really missing her x

We all went in several directions, I found a lot of deer tracks and lay-ups (if that's the right word) and lots of water but saw nothing of Tilly. Just the one dog today, a JR, and the owners have been out with their other dogs over the last week. They are pretty convinced she has been taken - she is a good hunter. Left lots of posters with them. They are a positive family and certainly Stacey won't give up. Just pray for sightings now. K9 was on a job tonight but needs a positive sighting to go on.
Maisies mum
Fergal's Servant, myself, owner and some of her friends searched until dark. Nothing! Stacey (owner) has searched with Tilly's dad and brother. Nothing. Tilly was not wearing a collar as her brother used to chew it off!
Tobys Mum
I agree with Jenny4, she may be stuck;have seen lost dogs caught up ny collars before. Do you have a dog that could scent track her? xx
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
Also too far for me but wishing you all the best for the search. I know the natural thing to do is call her name but if you are walking around in a wood it is best to do so without calling, a dog can be confused if calls are coming from different directions. Talking in a calm way is best
Looking forward to an update.

Too far for me to come I am afraid, but wishing you all the luck I can muster hope you find her xx

I have bumped as owners and helpers trying to arrange a search
Maisies mum
Trying to arrange a search at witherdon woods halwill. Anyone able to help?
Unknown
Could she be caught up somewhere where you hear the whimper?Maybe take another dog down there and see if she responds.
DogLostFergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
Maisies mum and I went out tonight, the woods opposite farm. We did hear something when we called her name gently, like a low howl or whimper and both of us went in to the undergrowth, quite boggy ground. Two hours looking but nothing else. Owners having BBQ and will go down later. We met a lady who had seen Tilly and another larger brown dog (her mum?) about 3 months ago when she was younger, so seems she's used to these woods - wish I had known that last week. The two ladies were just starting their walk and promised to listen out at that spot.Last edited: 2013-07-14 20:48:13 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall

Thanks Moogie, Stacey is putting out FB appeals for people to print a poster and put it up. They have done several searches of the fields and are having another BBQ today. Still no sightings.
DogLostMoogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall
Yes the area needs to be flooded with posters so you can't miss them. She needs to be so well known in the area and everyone talking about her
DogLostFergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
Happy Birthday Maisies mum's Mum! Stacey is going to put her collar in a plastic bag. Hope she has all the other bumph. Don't want to overload her if she has. She has called the DW today, nothing yet.
Maisies mum
Away for the weekend ............ Mum's 80th. Be back sunday and will get your number and then we can coordinate. I did mention to Stacey about scenting, I don't know enough about it and suggested that she could phone doglost if she wanted to try. Don't know if someone could email the article to her. Also worried she has not been sighted. Meant to ask if she has been spayed. Did not know if she might be in search of a boyfriend. I know mine have been very naughty at that time.
DogLostFergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
Thanks Maisies mum. Could really do with more posters to make people aware. Really worrying there have been no sightings. So many public footpaths but I ran out of posters. Stacey has my mobile too and will ask her to give it to you. We just need the sightings. I know K9 search dogs would come out. Has anyone given Stacey the instructions for a scent article?
Maisies mum
Hi Fergal's Servant sounds like you have done a fantastic job. If you need a hand with anything Stacey has my number and I am happy for you to have it.
DogLostFergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
Thanks Maisies mum, I saw your posters, Stacey put some at old school Halwill too. Anyone else who can help with posters would be appreciated. House to house seems the best idea as it is very agricultural and also wooded everywhere. I did posters at Cookworthy (Ruby offices) and lady there will inform dog walking friends. Rangers will keep a look out - Forestry and Wildlife Trust. Did some public footpaths but mostly farms and houses about a 2 mile radius around farm including Halwill. Had 40 and ran out so didn't manage Holsworthy. Spoke to family - they have not searched although Stacey has been out on the Quad on Tuesday. Tilly is just a year old and seems quite a free spirit. She regularly escapes from the compound, goes ratting/rabbiting and then brings herself home through the hold she's dug under the fence. I saw plenty of walkers and people who seemed to be 'cruising' so hopefully a sighting will come soon. Left details with some workmen, and a local garage/transport place just down from farm. They would like a poster please Stacey if you could take one. Went off into woods behind farm but no sign other than a bunch of pidgeon feathers (no bones at all) on the forest walk. Very very hot out there. Local lady said although its just lanes, the traffic is fast so please keep eyes open on verges. Tilly is not wearing a collar. Finally, another lady told me there were two dogs shot a couple of years ago by a farmer. Keep yer wits about you Tilly.Last edited: 2013-07-11 16:48:04 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall

Hi Fergal's Servant. I postered Halwill, Hatherleigh Market and a few places in between. I am planning on putting one up in Mole Valley, Holsworthy today and cookworthy forest. This is just to let you know so you know what has been covered. Won't have time to do a lot in Holsworthy today. Just hope she is safe and found soon.Last edited: 2013-07-11 14:33:39 by Maisies mum
