pleased to see monty gone into the blue. im from westcliff and was looking out for him on walks. but am shocked to see that he slipped through the net on the chip. then rehomed. making me wonder now if tinks whos missing from southend, could have been picked up and rehomed by the authorities. at least you have closure and montys happy x

Jo, thank you so much for your email. So, it looks like Monty has come off best after all. I am SO very pleased for him and for you in that you did very well by persevering and locating this fab boy. Well done. I so hope he has the happy, loving home he deserves and that his new family are so happy to have him. I do get a little upset when the "authorities" do not check properly, as this could have been a whole different story if you had wanted him back. Dear oh dear. But at least its turned out for the best for all of you and you now know he is safe and has a new home. Great news. Thank you for letting us all know. Wishing you a wonderful, happy life sweet Monty. xxx

We are so relieved to get the news today that Monty has been found. We had contacted authorities and told that they didn't have him, but on follow up calls it was discovered he had been picked up and now rehomed. Thank you for all your concern, support and advice.

monty must have been picked up somewhere or gone really far afield as not seen him at all in SS0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9! shared wide and still nothing?

Not seen monty around ss0 at all. knowing what a big area 'lola' covered when she went missing last week then monty could be roaming quite a way. have there been any sightings? What area/road would he have run off towards? Have posters been put up? Can help organise search but need a starting point. see if the owner will join bellasangels site so we can get people power involved. also lola was put onto Your Southend and Rayleigh Essex fb site which meant she got thousands of 'hits'. jojovw message me if u would like some help please - look on bellas site

Owners, do keep checking places like Gumtree, as there are some unscrupulous individuals out there who may find a dog and try and sell him. Also, do everything in my email to you. With any luck we will get a clue if you follow all that through. Come on Monty, let's find you. x

Thank you for clarifying jojovw. The link below is now showing advert deleted. I did see the picture in the advert and it did look very much like Monty. Sadly I didn't take a screen shot at the time or log the advertisers number as my phone battery died. I ask the person who highlighted that advert to me whether they had registered it but sadly they didn't either which is a rare thing that either of us would do that! I would strongly suggest placing an advert of your own on gumtree highlighting Monty missing as well as regularly searching on pets for homes, Preloved, epupz ect. Have you contacted Acresway kennels?

Just to clarify, a visitor came to our house and left our side gate open when they went to move their car, without us knowing. Monty then went into the garden with my husband and ran down the side of our house and out of the gate. He has never been advertised on Gumtree..!!! We rescued him from A Spanish animal charity. Unfortunately our family circumstances have changed so wagtails were helping us to rehome him. I hope this clears up any confusion. Thank you all for your help.

Monty's owners have been trying to rehome him hence why I was asking if the gumtree advert was from owner or a possible 'finder'. Monty had escaped from the garden and as far as I am aware there has not been any possible sightings to date. He went missing on Monday 1st April. There seems to be quite a bit of confusion regarding wagtails as some people have seen he's lovely face on their website being offered for rehoming. Wagtails had been asked to help rehome Monty BEFORE he disappeared
