- Wonderful news. So glad your ad in the paper worked. I too am really concerned as to why this dog's home did not scan him or if they did what happened.If you can find out would be useful for other people who have lost dogs. Thank you.

- Yay! So pleased Tyke is back home .Stay safe lovely lad. Am shocked that the Dogs Home didn't scan him. Thought that would have been one of the first things they would do with a stray dog that is brought in there. It should be part of the routine.

- SarahDee I'm so pleased to see that you have Tyke back home but did you ask the Dogs Home why they hadn't scanned him and contacted you? This is after all why we have our dogs microchipped, so that if they get picked up someone can contact us.

- Hi All, Thanks everybody for getting involved in finding Tyke. He is now safely back at home. Somdbody called from our ad in the paper to say they had seen a similar dog at the dogs home, so we went to check and it was him :) We had rang the dogs home daily with his description but they said they hadnt had a dog in like that. So unfortunately he was there longer than he needed to be, but at least hes home now.

- Will take a poster to Pets at Home,Trent Vale at lunchtime and will give poster to a colleague who lives in Porthill. Can take posters to Friarswood Vets and the pet shop in Newcastle town centre at weekend. Hoping Tyke is found safe n sound very soon
