Yes Kimmybear, interestingly I recently had another call from someone who saw him on the night he was found. She said he was wearing a collar, but the collar he came home in was not the one he went missing in. It seems possible that someone had him before he was found. Hopefully he escaped and wasn't just let loose to negotiate the roads etc. Still can't believe he is home.

To anyone else missing a dog - please don't give up and continue to get those posters out there - other dog lovers love to help.

Yippee!!! Welcome home Ed! Well done Shirley - for all you know, your hard work may have got him home. Maybe someone had him and he got too hot to handle and was let go? Or maybe, he escaped? Well done to Jack too and to the police. I would be asking the dog warden why HE didn't know you had reported him? Sounds like a breakdown their end, not yours and this is not acceptable. But, yes, to echo SanBarn's comments, well done for having him chipped. You did it, Shirley! You got your baby home! xxx

Fantastic news. Talk about a "Breakdown in communications" Welcome home Ed, I expect now you will have a "Clean up" and some nice grub. Seems as though someone had him for a while. Love tol see a reunited picture if possible:-)

Had a phone call from Petlog at 2am this morning. Police had found him wandering in Uxbridge High Street, called the dog warden who then sent him to Battersea at Old Windsor.

Dog warden asked why I had not reported him! I had reported him to police, dog warden, vets etc. and had put details on Dog Wardens website and Battersea website aswell as Doglost. Must have been a breakdown in their records.

Strangely I also had a call from a vet in Derwent Drive, Hayes to tell me they had found my dog but it had no chip. On further investigation I found that another dog was picked up yesterday but is more of a lab cross, although similar colouring to Ed. Anyone lost one?

A Mastif (Ibelieve) was also found in Hillingdon Borough too.

Ed looks very well (although dirty) and the pound do not believe he could have been out all the time for the past 2 weeks.

Well done! Get some more posters up around there - you can never have enough. Try and plot this point and the place he went from. This should form part of a triangle. These places are parts of his route. Well done. Remember if you should seem him, by all means call but take care not to frighten him as he may not immediately recognise you as he has gone into survival mode. Let him come to you. Don't chase. Give him time to process that it is you. Do this food and scenting daily SAT, same time. Remember wildlife may also decide to eat it though. But it will definitely help, and it may well him eating it. Keep up the fab work. Come on Ed, home time! x

A sighting! This is good news. Maybe do some scenting near the area he was seen? Also leave food at regular times so that he stays around that area.xx

I have phoned the police. He is such a friendly dog that I would be surprised if he wasn't spotted by someone. We're keeping positive.

SAT,posters are the best thing,not everyone knows that they should inform the dog warden when they find a dog.Ed could be with someone or in the woods,dogs can be very good at hiding themselves in woods and fields,moreso now the crops are getting tall.Have you been to your local police station to ask if any one has reported a dog? Keep in contact with the dog warden,local kennels and vets once a week as Ed needs to be kept fresh in their minds.xx

Hi, have been out again tonight putting up more posters. Ed has got out before which made me get him chipped. He didn't go far and was reported to the dog warden that time. This makes me think that he is probably with someone local but they haven't reported him yet.

I have put up posters around where I think he would have gone to and some further afield. It is basically in a built up area but with fields and woods not too far away.

Where does the garden lead out to? Fields? Roads? Residential estate? Would Ed usually have come back home if he got out? I'm trying to think where he could have gone and why he hasn't returned yet. Dogs do usually come back to the place they went missing from if they can, so leave something of home, e.g. blanket, old jumper, outside this fence if there is no longer any access for him. And keep checking there. Posters everywhere! You are doing well. x

Ed went missing from the back garden when the neighbour was replacing the fence and didn't realise he could get out.

Sat,how did Ed go missing? You're doing all the right things, don't forget to give a poster to the local postie, better still, a trip to the local sorting office to leave posters for the posties to take out with them, doctors surgeries and health centres are a good bet too along with community centres and any retirement homes, anywhere that a lot of people come and go.xx

Well done, Sat. Just keep working at it, it will give you something to focus on and it will make Ed famous, so if someone does have him he will be too hot to handle. Also, it can remind people if they saw him so they call you. Can you post on here how he got lost, as people can get clues from that. Thanks and well done! Come on Ed, where are you precious? x

Ok thanks. Some vets I have phoned get alerts from the microchip company and also some have said they will spread the word throughout their companies. Just off to put more posters out.

Sat, remember to do everything in the email, one by one.the most important thing now is to poster 100's, working out from the area Ed was lost in, at least a couple of miles, and then further. Remember council's road crew and Highways Agencies' crew do not scan dogs, so you must call daily to remind them. Same applies to railways. If someone has picked him up, you need to make him too hot to handle with all the posters. You CAN do it! Let's get Ed home! x
