"the Dog stolen from Thurrock Services. The transporter rang and said a very good friend of his wanted to adopt Romy, this dog has also now disappeared."

Whilst Gary Rios may now be co-operating in the search for Tasha and Romy, I think it is only right to point out that he wasted a huge amount of DogLost's and other agencies' resources by sending us all off on a wild goose chase. I hope now that his assistance to BC and Kelly will bring a positive outcome.

I have a friend who is Romanian and I have asked her to share this poster on her Facebook page. Is it possible at some point to get the area that Romy was lost in changed to Bucharest? As it will be confusing when sharing the link. Thank you.
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
I sincerely hope these two dogs are found or are somewhere safe and I am also pleased to see Gary's statement - he knows what he did was wrong and I am really pleased he will be helping you to find the dogs and make amends for what has been a very sad episode the lesson here is to be honest straight away even if you know it will be tough and upsetting. Good luck to you all. Julie x

It maybe a good idea to concentrate on the rescues as I would assume these 2 have now been picked up and maybe the chips not recognised. hope they get home soon xx
BC
Kelly and I have both spoken with Gary. To move forward with this Gary will speak directly to us, and will do anything he can to help try and locate Tasha and Romy. Chrissy can you email me the poster for the dogs, i will send them to Gary and he will distribute them in the areas where both dogs were lost. I have spoken with Kelly and we are both in agreement that we should now concentrate on finding the dogs, we are not going to make any further comments about Gary, and solely spend our time now trying to pinpoint the exact location where the dogs were lost, with Garys help. He wants to try to make amends in some way by helping us find both dogs, so can we please ask that people stop messaging him, as he will not answer any questions as he is worried that things will get distorted, if he just deals with us it will be easier all round. Any important information regarding the whereabouts of the dogs will be posted by myself or kelly. I know that this will not sit pretty with a lot of people, but Gary knows what he has done is wrong, he has now admitted the truth, so please can we all concentrate on the most important thing, finding Tasha and Romy

Poor dog, hope she is safe somewhere.

Confession by Gary Rios, the heat got too much for him !!!

Gary Rios
I am in deep regret for my actions over the last 3 months. I have lied and betrayed you all. Romy and tasha were lost on transit that day romy in Bucherest and tasha between Nuremberg and regensberg. Romy escaped at Carrefour and we spent 3 hours chasing him till we lost him. Tasha escaped at a parking area off the motorway and spent 2 hours chasing him through woods till we lost him also. The right thing to do on that day would of been to phone straight away the people involved but we panicked! It was a spur of the moment thing of which I truely am sorry. I feel awful for the people involved miheala corina and kelly i can i regret my actions so much i dug a hole of which i couldnt get out of and im so sorry! We have been looking ever since in a hope we would find the dogs but nothing. I will do whatever I can to find them and will never give up!
I'm so sorry to everyone on carpe canem for betraying you all after the support you gave me I feel awful and hate myself so much for allowing things to get out of hand! I'm sorry to you all.

Well done BC on your incredibly hard work trying to get to the bottom of this. I am glad you are going to pursue him and I hope he gets what he deserves and everything to do with him is revoked - I can't stand people that tell lies and they always say if you do you need a good memory as they usually slip up somewhere along the line but to have others joining in with the lies is even worse. God bless Romy and Tasha wherever you are. With all good luck and good wishes to you. Julie x
BC
Thank you Julie. The police are going to be charging him with wasting police time, but now that the truth has come out, there is no crime which was the theft of tasha. We are going to persue him through the courts, and at present we are speaking with Welfare in Transport (Defra), and Trading Standards, and hopefully they are going to revoke his Defra Approval as a pet transporter.
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
Why oh why could this man not have told the truth from the start instead of lying again and again. Have you any idea how he came to lose both these dogs while in his care in different locations ? Absolutely disgraceful. I do hope the Police take this further for the sake of anyone else using his transport. All I can say is I hope both Tasha and Romy are somehow being looked after wherever they are now. With all good wishes. Julie x

POLICE UPDATE ON TASHA AND ROMY

The Investigation into the Theft of Tasha from Thurrock Services has now been concluded. Gary Rios has stated all along that he handed Tasha over to an unknown woman at Thurrock Services, this has now been proved by CCTV Evidence that what he is saying is NOT TRUE, the Police have reviewed the CCTV footage, and Gary Rios did not hand Tasha over to anyone at Thurrock Services. The police are still waiting for confirmation from Defra on the number of dogs he bought into the UK, but by the evidence the Police have obtained, they are pretty sure that the confirmation will show that only 13 dogs arrived in the UK and not 15 as stated by Gary Rios. Further evidence shows that Tasha and Romy were lost by Gary Rios before entering the UK. The information we have is that Romy was lost in Bucharest, and Tasha was lost somewhere in Germany. To date Gary Rios has not attended any arranged interview with the Police, and has not helped with any Police Investigation. The Police have said that Gary Rios has just wasted Police time, and they are looking into this Matter.
SO THIS NOW PROVES THAT GARY RIOS HAS LIED TO US AND TO THE POLICE!!!

Oh lord how terrible this is. Do hope you have some good news from Germany and also Romania - quite unbelievable what people will stoop to to cover their backs - utter dishonesty quite dispicable in my book. With all good wishes and I hope we find some great news here soon. Julie.

What can i say, more and more lies from Team Rios, threats being made to potential witness, this guy just has no remorse. The search for Romy and Tasha still goes on, We now have helpers in Germany, who are contacting all rescues known to them, hopefully some good news to report shortly, we have a lead which we are working on at the moment. The rescues in Romania have also been out looking for Romy, again with no luck in finding her. Isnt it funny that Garys girlfriend has disappeard off of here, theres a surprise, all the rubbish about Charles Cameron, and romy being in a lovely home, just lie after lie, getting people to ring up and make out they are charles cameron, even to doglost, what else will they stoop to ?? This just gets worse and worse - I do hope you will get to the whole truth soon - do Sirius Transport actually care about dogs at all ? It seems to me they just treat them as cargo and disposable items. Thinking of you. J. x
BC
Sirius Transport have put loads of rubbish on the internet today, one , they put a photograph up of a dog taken in Austria which they say is Romy, and that proves that he wasnt lost in Romania, but its not Romy, its a dog that looked very much like her called Alice. They then put up a post saying that the police had ordered us to remove the post that i showed earlier, and that the police have now said the statment made about Sirius Transport by the informant from here has now been proved to be false, and that this was done out of vengence towards Gary Rios, this is also total rubbish, Sirius Transport state that the police rang and told us this information this morning, but we have spoken to the police on numerous occasions today, and this was not mentioned, and is not true.
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
We await hearing the full story as to what has gone on with these dogs - didn't even make it to the UK ! Am thinking of you but don't have any contacts in Romania or Germany. J.
BC
We have just been informed that Gary has cancelled his appointment with the Police as he is out of the Country. We are limited as to what we can put up here today, we were hoping to be able to tell the whole story about what has happened to Tasha and Romy, but there is still an ongoing Police Investigation, and although we would love to tell all we are unable to answer any quetions at this time at the request of the Police.
After liasing with the Police today we can safely say that we need to be looking for Romy in Romania and Tasha in Germany.
WE NEED TO FOCUS NOW ON LOOKING FOR ROMY AND TASHA, ANYONE WHO THINKS THEY CAN HELP WITH THIS PLEASE CONTACT KATHY, KELLY OR MIHAELA VIA FACEBOOK, thank you.
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
Nik - I am very pleased to hear that investigations are continuing and I do hope they come to fruition very soon. It is such an awful situation thinking these dogs were in safe hands when very clearly they were not - I hope DEFRA take their approved status away from these transporters as maybe this has happened before and of course could happen in the future as they obviously are very uncaring. What I can't understand is any reputable business would be so very concerned for the goodwill of their company and to have bad publicity such as this will do the business irrevocable harm. Anyway enough said and I do hope these two lovely dogs are in the blue in a safe and caring home before too long. J.

Julie, investigations continue.
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
I am so sad to read all this. I had hoped to find them both in the blue today. Please - the people or person that know what has happened to Romy and Tasha just be honest and tell the truth as to exactly what has happened to them. Honesty costs nothing.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
I just have to point out that we do not know the whereabouts of Romy, after all. :-(
BC
We have been given an address for Romy in Scotland, i have checked this out this morning, i called the owner of the estate that the cottage is on, the cottage isnt rented to anyone called Charles Cameron, the people that live there are in there 70's and retired, and have lived there for many years, the owner is happy to liase with the police, more lies from Gary Rios and his team

Thank you everyone. BC you have done a marvellous job of helping both Romy and Tasha. I commend you. jm10 I am so glad that at least, Romy's whereabouts have now been established. Sometimes we need to put ideas out there as every thought generates questions and it is through questions that we obtain answers. And, this has in fact occurred. Everyone is stressed because you are all working so hard to help these dogs and at last you have found Romy. So well done to you all. As BC states, maybe now Gary can assist with Tasha if anyone can contact him, please do so. Many thanks. Let's see how Shereen gets on, then hopefully we can at least get sweet Romy into the blue with a loving home. x
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
I am sure I speak for everyone in that we are all dog lovers and only want to help and support owners having a distressing time when their dog or dogs are missing - it is through our love of these wonderful animals that we do our best to help when a situation such as this unfortunately arises. I am sure this situation with Romy will now be rectified. Many of us do work long hours with little free time but will always try and help to the best of our ability. Julie x
jm10
I appreciate this has been a very stressful time due to lack of contact however Charles is extremely apologetic and oblivious to the level of concern this has generated. I have contacted doglost and left an answerphone message, please contact me tomorrow so I can provide you with Charles' contact details. Thank you
BC
Im fully aware this page is about Romy, i started the page, and it is positive news, which still has to be verified. It was your comment about about speculation and people with time of their hands, the reason everyone has had to speculate is because of lack of informtion from Sirius Transport. You have supplied this information today, Romy was taken to his unknown home 7 weeks ago, so any cause for speculation is down to Gary for not being forthcoming with the information. And whilst you are ovviously monitoring this page, it was a good time to ask other unanswered questions, but clearly that is not going to happen is it???? I respect Shereen more than most people i have ever met, but unless you have been with this story right from the start with all the twists and turns involved, different rescues and transport groups it is a very complicated one to get to the bottom of.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Okay please everyone keep calm...we will look into this...and as long as the dog is safe and well..checked into by Shereen...who everyone respects...we will update as we know more.
jm10
BC, this page is about Romy - who has been reported as lost however I am informing everyone is safe and his whereabouts known. For those genuinely concerned about the Romy, I assume this is positive news.
BC
How come you not posting on Tasha's page then ???? Nothing to say about that !!!
BC
jm10, being you seem to know so much i presume you are Garys girlfriend, perhpas you could tell us when Gary is going to go and look at the cctv regarding Tasha, like he was supposed to do over a week ago, thats how much he cares about getting Tasha back, couldnt even be bothered to do that. And before you say that the police cancelled, thats rubbish, pc Guiney said he was trying to get him on the phone for hours and his phone was switched off.
BC
In fact why havnt you advertised the fact that Tasha is still missing 7 weeks down the line on either the Sirius Facebook Page or on Garys Facebook page, or anywhere else for that matter, not a mention about Tasha from you or him,for someone who proffesses to be doing such a lot, there certainly dosnt seem to be much proof of that.
BC
Id also like to say to JM10, if you think this site is such a useful tool in finding genuinely lost pets, why the hell didnt you or Gary, put Tasha on here, instead of me having to do it!!!!!!!!
BC
He was lost as far as the rescue was concerned. If this Charles is Garys best friend, why did it take until today for any information regarding Romys whereabouts to be given to the rescue, Charles has had that dog then for 7 weeks, and even Gary himself could not give us a name (apart from Charles), or a contact number, for someone who is supposed to be a very good friend, he didnt seems to know much about him. And as for you saying about people with too much time on their hands, these people are the ones clearing up the mess that Gary has caused by handing Tasha over to a unknown person, people who have worked relentlessly to try to find Tasha, which is more than Gary is doing. I ask admin not to put romy over to re-united until we have been able to establish that Romy is residing at the address given today.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
jm10...thanks for pointing out your concerns...have phoned shereen the local co ordinator and informed her about this...could you possibly leave your contact number to our admin email with attention shereen on so we can talk to you...or call 0844 800 3220....and ask for Jayne...tx..you obviously have something to say and we are very open to hearing it.
jm10
This dog lives happily with his owner Charles and has NEVER been lost. Charles has moved house and been on holiday, he has recently been in contact with Gary who has passed his details onto the owner in Romania. I always considered this site to be a useful tool in finding genuinely lost pets however I now realise it is yet another forum for speculation, by those with too much time on their hands.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
The Freedom of Information Act often counteracts Data Protection, however, it can be a couple of weeks before this is approved. I think in this instance data protection could over ride as there is a police investigation. However, if BC got written authority to investigate on behalf of the rescue, I feel this information should be given freely under the FOIA and DPA as both Romy and Tasha are their dogs and they have a right to know if their dogs entered the country. Police may not want interference but data protection is to protect information from the wrong people, I cannot see how the rescue is the wrong people? It is they who have a right to this information. I'm sure BC would be far quicker than the police! Well done for your hard work BC. x
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
BC - well done on your efforts today. Who is the legal owner of these dogs as if it is the rescue surely DEFRA should give you information, data protection act or not. I do hope Gary contacts the rescue with the information. Something very odd going on here.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Put Romy & Tasha on DL Essex & DL Hertfordshire FBs.
BC
I spent all afternoon trying to establish if Tasha and Romy ever entere the UK, contacted Defra, All the Ports, and The Port Police at Dover, and in the end they would not give us any information, because of the data protection act. Gary has been contacted by phone, and he has confirmed to the Rescue who sent Romy to the UK that someone called Charles had Romy, but he has still not provided any other details, he is supposed to be contacting the rescue with the information, but nothing as yer
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
Sorry I actually meant dog transport. Also who insures Sirius Pet Transport as they should be getting involved as to what has happened to these dogs - rescue could make a claim against them for the loss of these two which may put pressure from the insurance company onto the individual who has done this or at the very least try and ascertain exactly what has happened here. Just a thought.
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
Just another thought where is the paperwork for these dogs has it vanished with them as DEFRA would be concerned I am sure.
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
If it has not been done already have DEFRA been contacted and maybe Haulage Association or similar - is there a governing body for animal transplant - I would have thought there must be. I am absolutely disgusted to read this plus the other dog listed as well. These poor dogs coming to the UK to find a happy new home and this happens so totally wrong and this man must be brought to account. I hope these two are soon found and back in safe hands.

I think this is possibly the same dog, if so its a much better picture.......

'Romy came on the Same Transport Run as Tasha the Dog stolen from Thurrock Services.
Again a baffling mystery with Sirius PetTransport involved, on route to the uk Gary the owner of Sirius Transport rang and said a very good friend of his wanted to adopt Romy, this dog has also now disappeared, and Gary will not give any information to the relevant rescue. Apparently the person who has Romy is called Charles, and he has two properties, one was in Folkestone , but we believe he has moved from that address. The only information Gary was prepared to give anyone is a mobile number, which is registered to Germany. One Transport Company, two dogs missing due to Sirius Pet Transport of Eastbourne'

Oh, nooooo! I hope this Gary from the transport run is found! Will ask Riverlady to twitter this sweet girl as well. x
