There's a choc lab turned up at aber falls kennels, they are checking for scars on the underside of tummy although one at kennels has no chip x
Sarah
This one has turned up South East. Lady says he is huge. Doesn't seem to be registering a chip though although imo I don't think that should be taken as gospel as I've heard some chips don't register! Anyway, this is the link if you could take a look. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151888552601723&set=a.464496646722.254204.632276722&type=1&theater

Thanks cavvy lover of pembrokeshire, I have now spoken to the lady at Freshfields and she says that all dogs are scanned and my Winston was chipped, she has my details and will make contact should any news occur, thanks so much for your help at this difficult time. We will never give up hope for my precious Winston. Kindest Regards to all for your support Karen.

Just saw another choc lab called Rocky on a Welsh Rescue site which again may be worth looking at. Unfortunately doesn't say much as to age or when found or if indeed he is still up for rehoming.

Interestingly, Freshfields do now have a choc lab which was put on their site on 5th August. He is approx 5 years old and called Ben. Came from a family whose child has "developed" an allergy. May be worth looking at the photo.

I have now spoken to the lady at the Freshfields Kennels in Caernarvon, North Wales, and she assures me that the only Chocolate Labrador she has had was over a year ago, however she tells me that a rather old Labrador was re homed, due to its local owner going into a retirement home, however she knew the details of this dog and it certainly was not my Winston. Thank you everyone for your kind support at this difficult time. Kind Regards to all Karen.

Spotted this dog today, he's at freshfields North Wales. I know he dosn't look as chunky as winston, but would prefer it if owner had a look for me, Thanks Lisa X http://www.dogsblog.com/harvey-50/

Thanks everyone for your tireless support at helping us find our boy Winston, Chris the tracker from Liverpool called yesterday, he knows the area well, and we have given him all of the details relating to Winston. Thanks skippy we have now contacted Dee Valley Water, there are posters at the Royal Mail sorting offices in Wrexham, and surrounding sub areas, two recent sightings have proved negative after we have seen the two dogs in question. Once again thank you everyone for your help in finding my Winston. Kind Regards to All Karen.
Goldenfrodo
Thanks everyone for all your help x
Please stay safe Winston until you are found x
skippy
I don't know whether anyone has been in touch with Dee Valley Water at all. They have offices at Rhostyllen, and will have staff out and about throughout the area, so may be happy to put up posters in staff rooms.

Apart from that though, I think they may also be responsible for Ty Mawr reservoir and may have staff up and around the reservoirs on a Daily basis.

Don't know if helps, but thought I would mention it. Link below for their website contacts page.

Spoken to police today, no record of any farm shootings in the area either before or after the date Winston went missing. Contact has searched old maps of the area and there are lots of old lead mines and shafts all around, I'm sending printed copies to helper in the area x

MORE INFORMATION FROM OWNERS:
On the 23rd April at 12.30 the owner was walking their 2 labradors down the mountain known as the 'Esclusham Above' mountain on the Minera side. At the bottom of the mountain a rabbit ran out and both dogs took chase and left the mountain. They went down Cae Glas country lane towards Bronwylfa Road. Owners ran after both dogs but they were too fast and soon disappeared. Owner went home to get car and was back there within 20 min. She couldn't find them so she went home. 1 hour later a local farmer/family friend arrived at the house with Winston's brother, Harvey. The farmer found him going back up Cae Glas. So there is an 1 hour to 2 hours max between loosing the dogs and Harvey being brought home. Owners went straight back out with Harvey to see if he could pick up a scent, they searched the area with no luck. Harvey is the alpha male. There have been no sightings. The nearest villages/areas are: Bron Wylfa (area of farms and house), Frondeg (country lane with 6 houses), Rhos Village and Wern. There are 4 reservoirs in the area, 2 on each side. Will update when I find out which reservoirs have been searched.
All areas have been postered including around by the farms, the post office, sorting office and village hall. Owners contacted all the dog wardens including Wrexham, Whitchurch, Shropshire and Flintshire and is still in touch with them - all have Winston's details. They have also contacted all the kennels and council kennels as well as the British Transport police, North Wales police and the Highways agency. Winston is on Doglost and all over Facebook being shared via 'Lost Dogs North Wales Area', 'Doglost Wales', 'Lost and Found dogs in Wales' as well as many groups. Winston has featured in the Leader for a week. There are 4 or 5 farms in the area and all were contacted via a friend of Winston's owner, all friendly :) I asked owner how Harvey had been since the day they went missing, he was petrified when he got home and has become timid of loud noises :( I'm going to ask a contact if they can find out if there any old mine shafts in the area, there is a quarry near there. Fingers and paws crossed we hear some news soon xLast edited: 2012-07-03 23:16:57 by Rachel LDNWA

Winston is 3 & a half years old, pure lab, he has some scars under his fur on his tummy which you can't see but you can feel them, he has no other marks or scars, the marks on the photo are just scratches on the photograph, he has a full tail and a chunky wide head
baldrick
OK Lets start from the very very beginning. Sorry have had login problems but have been watching: first please see 12288 Jake reunited. He was found in a house in Rhostyllen by a "rescuer" who didnt report him. We need to track down Jakes owner to find out where this was and check it out. Please consider postering near the bench opposite the football firld near the bypass bridge. The old blokes sit there with their dogs and this is how Jake was found. Second would you list the exact circumstances of his disappearance...where, time of day etc. This way we can poster most effectively and also poster via facebook giving this link and detail that could jog peoples memory. Third re report to dogwarden and Acorn Kennels, and also report to Oswestry and Flintshire Dogwardens. Flintshire may ot be helpful but a dog went missing from Llay (Wrexham) and turned up in Flintshire kennel as the road links meant he was picked up on the road by someone heading that way. people dont realise dogwardens dont communicate across areas. 4th check gumtree e pups preloved friday ad and any other scuzzy dog dumping site you can think of. 5th ring kennels and vets and also RSPCA in case he was involved in RTA and taken in to them. %th and most unpleasant contact Network rail and Local Authority Highways to check if a dog matching his description has been found dead. Sorry to raise that possibility. Apologies if I am covering old ground here. Also consider joining forces with Princess LL14 and pushing the Evening Leader to run a story. Hugs x

Has anyone tried Aber or Hengwrt - they both take dogs in for Gwynedd Council so someone may have taken him there.
Presumably Maes Gwyn have his poster?
I've emailed his poster to Happy days in Ruthin and just had a really nice email saying that they've put his poster on their FB page and will tell all club members to keep a lookout. I'm not sure where else you've contacted. xx

A chocolate lab male was found on the dual carriage way near St.Asaph yesterday by a friend of mine who posted him on Facebook. He's at Nant Y Corn kennels, North Wales. I have contacted Winston's owner and given her the phone number of Nant Y Corn. It's possible he has wandered that far in that space of time. She says she will ring me back if it is him so I will keep you posted. Fingers crossed.

Sorry to see that WINSTON is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (38988)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
