Bit of a distance, but there's a male border collie on stray aid - looks quite young. May have too much white on the front legs, but thought it worth the owner taking a look - ref SD192-12

Thanks Tobysdad and Lou, unfortunately not Bill, thanks very much though.
Quick update: From the Article in the Whitby Gazette, we had two negative sightings of the same dog near Lingdale, too white and long coated to be Bill. Also today a negative sighting near castleton, too old and long coated. There was also an article in the Middlesbrough evening Gazette, but heard nothing from that.
Fingers crossed Yorkshire Post should put it in this week, just chasing that up...
Thanks everyone for helping.xx

There's a piece on pg. 13 in the Whitby Gazette. Yorkshire Post said they will do a piece in next Fridays paper if he is not found, also contacting Farmers guardian. Rang more local authoroities in a wider area and continuing to post on websites/facebook/tweet/poster/ask around. The police also now agree he was stolen and has given us a crime no.

Thanks Jo, Jumanji and Riverlady!
Whitby Gazette emailed, led to believe they will feature a piece on him, Evening Gazette for M'boro/Guisorough also emailed, waiting for response. Rang around all kennels, wardens, rescue centres, vets etc once again, postering more local businesses today. Facebooking and twittering too. Contacting Farmers Guardian also. Praying some clues turn up soon! xx

Bill is thought to have been STOLEN or purposely let off his lead from the owners property. Another dog had been unleashed too and was hiding.
He is 18months old, black and white, mainly black with white neck and thin white line part of the way down his forehead, with white socks and white tipped tail and was wearing a blue collar with chain detail when he went missing.
Owners have contacted all the relevant authorities and have searched and postered the area. They have thoroughly checked their property. They are trying to get some media coverage.
Have advised to keep telephoning the stray kennels and visit them in person to check for Bill.
Have also advised on reporting him missing to any boundary dog warden services.
Fingers crossed for some news of this boy.
if found he should be reported to the dog warden as is required by LAW.

Admin
Sorry to see that BILL is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (38671)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
