Loulon, can you get your mum to read this? We REALLY DO get thousands of dogs back home! She just needs to call us about the phone call and we'll help. I understand that she probably thinks it's impossible, but it really is NOT. That call to us could get Emma home. It's worth a try. We can't do it unless we have all the details. We are offering your mum free help to find Emma. I know its hard, believe me, but it could actually work. How pleased she would be then? Wish she would try, but ultimately it's up to her. You are a good daughter to put Emma on here and try to help. xxx
Louloun
And thank you both for you all your help x
Louloun
Im not giving up kimmybear but my mum won't talk about it no more makes her very sad thank you abblish batersea did phone me was clutching at straws hoping it was a misprint accdently put male' when Emma went missing in April we did phone batersea left a answer phone message to report her missing
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Very kind of you to post, Abbalish. Louloun we won't give up on sweet Emma.x
DogLostBattersea Dogs HomeBattersea
It appears you have not made a reprot at Battersea, this is very much advised as we get reports of found dogs all the time.
DogLostBattersea Dogs HomeBattersea
The dog at battersea is def a boy, I'm afraid.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Louloun, did you read the message below from Jayne? PLEASE get your mum to call us. If your mum wants Emma back, we can help her, but she has to call us. Thank you. x
Louloun
Hi still no news on our little Emma I looked on to batersea dogs home there is a dog I swear is Emma looks like her so much but it turned out to b a male I've left them a message asking are they sure it's a boy they never get back to you, because he scruffy and age also it looks like it has no teeth I'm sure they wouldn't make a mistake but I thought I double check it's a boy hopefully they will get back to me
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Please call HQ on 0844 800 3220 and update us to this phonecall etc...tx...
Louloun
Ok I will ask her she said she was going in to our local police station to get them to see if the number is fake or is at an address they have a walk in help centre one day a week thank u all for your help x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Em, you are correct. Louloun, please ask your mum to call us - we have specialist people here, who really can help you with the police. Get your mum to read this message. x
emmalouise
I know it's really hard to keep going but she is out there somewhere and CAN be found!
I really think asking admin here to speak to the police could be help, might be useful to call and speak to Jayne rather than on here
As Kimmybear said there is definitely a clue with that woman, don't give up without a fight!
If you want me to call anyone for you I don't mind either but please give admin a call I really think they could get somewhere on this x
Louloun
Hi Emmalouise nothing think my mum has given up hope now of getting Emma back x
emmalouise
have you had any more luck with the police louloun?
x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
I think this woman is the key. You don't phone someone for no reason, do you? Something was going on. Police need to find out what! x
Louloun
I will get my mum to ring police see if they can do anything with the number thank u for all your help don't want to give up hope of finding her x
emmalouise
As Kimmybear said I think talking to the police again would be a good idea, surely they could trace the number to an address? particularly a house number can't be too difficult? (not that I know about this stuff..) use the stuff Kimmybear said about it being a crime not to report a found dog and if you need to use the admin on here to pressure them too
I'd also say on leaflets and things 'a reward for info leading to her safe return' try and get the woman's neighbours to rat her out! x
Louloun
Hi sorry just getting back to you been workin all hours that is great we have reward on posters and in local paper we have done some leaflets we are posting them through doors my mum phoned dog wardens and they have been good to ring us as soon as a dog been found, I now think the woman that phoned saying she had Emma has kept her because the number is our local area, I can't thank you all enough for your help x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Also need to add, you must keep phoning all the rescues, the dog warden and kennels in the area, up to 30 miles away, every single day. Give them posters and go in to check. Sometimes people forget. They don't always check the posters - they have too many. Keep on an on. She can be rehomed without a chip so if she is in a rescue, you still have a chance of finding her and being reunited. If she isn't, then this woman may have her. The key in all this is to make Emma so famous the whole world knows she's missing! Poster 100's. Tell the newspaper - maybe they will do a story asking for this mysterious woman to surface. You have to try everything, something will work. x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Emmalouise, I emailed owners with detailed advice on what to do to find their dog. I have not received a response yet, but hope they have read and actioned it all. I have just read it all more carefully. I feel that this needs to go to the police. I know they will say there's nothing they can do, BUT there is. They need to be reminded of their duty to investigate a crime and if this has gone on, then it is a crime. Firstly, neither women had reported the found dog to the dog warden which is against the law. For someone to take the dog and pass it on without checking for legal ownership is against the law. This dog, whoever she is, should now be considered stolen and therefore the police must act. From this, both women have broken the law. Give the number to the police. Get them to visit this person. If they still won't do it, call us as we can try to help. Louloun, your mum must pressurise the police. You need to get a CRIME number, for that is what it is. Please do it now.
emmalouise
Sounds like a good plan Kimmybear, I think there was a reward mentioned in the paper ad but definitely a good idea to add it the put the posters
Have you read the details of the call received Kimmybear? I think have some it seems to have some merit with (as I mentioned below) but what do you think? and you might be able to give louloun some more advice about it x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Louloun, I'm going to email you, as I don't know if you have received this info. Will do it now. x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
I think we need to put a reward on the poster. I suggest we put cash as you have room to negotiate. A genuine person rarely accepts a reward but if you have a dogdy person out there who knows something, it may lead to finding her. Shall we do that? Don't worry about this, we can figure it out later, but right now I think we need to do that. If you get a call asking about reward, you say only when you see her do you hand over money, but call us and we can help you. Don't let on about whether she is chipped or spayed or anything, just say you aren't sure. Unless you see her and know its her, you do not part with any money - it could be a trick. If they produce her, or you get a call, do your best then call us!
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
You are doing really well out there! Keep going! Emmalouise, you are a fab helper! Come on sweetie, where are you? x
Lynn
Hi fingers crossed that this is Emma , and that she will be home soon, lots of door knocking, posting, and asking in the strets, in shops , (pubs if any nearby)really hope that you find her soon, as you say soemone could taken her in and she has escaped again, good luck. x
Louloun
Thank you Emmalouise we spoke to dog warden in our area nothing wish I had asked the man if dog was running free or someone walking her, asked all the local shops to keep a look out we have a lot of help from local residents and kids looking out for her thank you for all your help x
emmalouise
me again, just thought if there's any admin around could this page be bumped due to the possible sighting? thankyou
emmalouise
i've posted on the missing eltham dogs fb group updating about the possible sighting too, so should be lots of people in the area looking out for her
wish i could do more but i'm a couple of hours away x
emmalouise
any more news?
maybe try putting a blanket of hers and some food she likes (chicken etc) out the front of your house if you can, if she's still in the area it may help her find her own way home
if you do see her don't frantically call her name and go towards her, try to sound as calm as you can softly call her to you taking a few steps back. if you try rushing towards her panicking she may think she's in trouble and run off!
also i guess she must know the area quite well? if there's a route she walks a lot or a park she goes to, she may head in the direction of something familiar x
Louloun
It's at end of our road the man said he see her running past doctors which is 2min up road we will ring dog warden as its shut my mum said we are gonna do leaflets post them everywhere, if someone has kept her she may have run out like she did to my mum will post if I get news x
emmalouise
ooh came on for an update and very happy to see this! need to get LOTS of posters round the area, possibly post some through doors too
how close to home is avery hill? if it's close by there are some scenting things you can do
need to try and some more sightings of this dog (emma or not)
could be worth letting the dog warden know tomorrow too x
Louloun
Someone just phoned said they have just seen a dog running up avery hill road saying it looked like Emma so we are still have hope might be her x
Louloun
My mum contacted eltham police again nothing they can do the phone call still a mystery tried googling it nothing and the number just rings no one answers x
emmalouise
louloun have you spoken to the police? I still wonder if there was something to the phonecall you received, could be worth talking to them
I guess you could never get through to the number you were given?
x
Louloun
Still no news add came out on tues we also been in touch with other areas dog wardens still nothing nearly two weeks x
Lynn
Hi loulon, I'm still following this and so sorry none of the found dogs were Emma! but don't give up and cover every possible lead or call that you get, with regards this latest all , maybe it's worth reporting to the police? again all possibilities must be looked at, don't give up she is out there somewhere, as you know i'm not local to help with a search , but I will continue to check other sites and found dogs. Good luck. x
Louloun
Thank you for all your help I didn't think about google I'll try that see what happens x
emmalouise
ye i just cleared up that one, was very confused at first
hm i really think there could at least be some truth behind this woman's story, most hoax calls are more like 'i have your dog' and that's it, to come up with such a bizarre story and a number with your area code is odd
have you tried googling the number? i know it seems strange but sometimes you can get at least an approximate address from google or something interesting at least
i'm not nearby to help on the ground but if there's anything you need me to ie making calls etc just let me know x
Louloun
When my mum asked for her number the woman paused for a short time then gave it to her the number she gave is from our area going to keep trying it, the dog in se9 has been put up wrong I have spoke to the woman she put found by mistake was meant to say lost x
emmalouise
have you checked out the found yorkie from eltham? i think someone said they had mentioned her to you
edit- have trouble trying to find the one i just mentioned apparently it's on the animalwardens site, spoke to someone on the missing eltham dogs page who said she had contacted you about it? (i'm sure it's someone also on this site, so confusing between them all) xLast edited: 2012-04-17 17:39:04 by emmalouise
emmalouise
that does sound very strange, it could be a hoax but seems a pretty detailed lie, particularly to give a contact number out as you'd have to make one up on the spot that could be an actual number- if that makes sense
do you know where the woman that called lives? or could you find out? if so i'd post posters through her neighbours doors to see if they've seen anything
as your mum said unless she's posted on the internet or locally about having found a dog i'm not sure how someone would know she had her..
i'd try a soft approach to try and get any more info from her (mention if her info leads to the return of emma there will be a reward) and maybe try leaving a voicemail on the phone just saying you want to get in contact and not giving to much info as to why
there may be people on here that could give you more advice on this, but i would try and pursue it just in case it's not a hoax

Last edited: 2012-04-17 17:04:42 by emmalouise
Louloun
It did sound like her, the woman just said I had your yorkie but a smartly dressed lady knocked and claimed it was her dog and she gave it to her my mum asked how would this lady no u had the dog woman said I'm only trying to help gave her this woman's number then hung up my mum tried the numbers just go's straight to voicemail my mum has put posters up and add in paper offering reward x
emmalouise
it sounded so much like her!
what did the woman say exactly? you do get a lot of sick people who make hoax calls but there could also be something to it or maybe someone trying to see if they'd get a reward for her, if you do get anymore calls maybe try asking something about emma that they'd know if they had her
make sure you don't give out any details about emma if someone calls (for example don't say she's not microchipped) as sometimes they call to get info on the dog

Louloun
Hi the Derbyshire one wasn't Emma spoke to warden we won't give up hope, we had a very strange phone call of a woman claiming she had Emma but someone knocked on her door and claimed the dog was hers think it was a hoax people really don't realise how upsetting this is x
emmalouise
thankyou amanda, that is the derbyshire one (i didn't have a clue where pilsley was either lol), hopefully it is her although if she's made it that far it will be a mystery how!
Amanda Still Missing Gabby :-(
I don't how much distance is involved but there is a female yorkie found in Grange Rd, Pilsley s45. Wearing a blue canvas collar missing most of her teeth.
Doglost ref number- 38751. The tel no- 01246 231111. May be worth a call. Hope you find her soon.
Louloun
Our local shops put posters up the add comes out Tom in our local free paper so everyone in Greenwich borough will get one so I'm hoping someone has took pity on her thinking she is a stray cos she looks scruffy bless her x
emmalouise
tell your mum not to give up, even older dogs can last surprisingly well outside and sometimes turn up in the strangest places! it's really difficult to keep seeing dog that could be her and aren't but keep checking every possibility, the one in derbyshire does look promising far away but you never know
and i'd agree that if she had been involved in an rta it would of been reported, although i don't know how much different areas of the council keep in contact it could be worth asking your local dog warden if they'd know if one had been recovered
have you put plenty of posters around the area? i still think it could be likely that someones looking after her and just hasn't reported it
get home emma, your mum misses you!
Louloun
Just looked at the dog you sent me in Derbyshire it looks like her says missin teeth I have spoke to someone but he had no info they will ring me back ASAP I have sent them more details of Emma so waiting on more info
Louloun
Just spoke to my mum Emma also has cataracts has one tooth left and has a pimple on her left shoulder so she has quiet a few distincted features
Louloun
Thank you lyn every aspect is worth a try because you just don't no. Hi Emma had a phone call from vets really thought it was emme but turned out not to b her as this dog had teeth so upsetting for my mum she just wants to no were she is we don't have any rivers but we do have lots of roads and she is terrible with roads but im hoping that if someone run her over they would take her to vets thank you all for your help Last edited: 2012-04-16 17:13:45 by Louloun
Lynn
Ahhh I thought it might be too far away, but thought I would mention it just incase.
emmalouise
just looked into that one and unfortunately it's not emma :(
has been claimed by someone in the area
have you had any news/sightings louloun? i did want to mention (and really hope it's not the case but for piece of mind) checking any 'danger' areas nearby like any rivers/ponds, she's an old girl and could of got herself into trouble
as i said i really don't want to dishearten you and it's definitely not been long enough to give up so please don't!
but i do think if there are any places like this it's worth checking now as it can be harder later

Lynn
I've now spoken to the owner who is going to look into it.
Lynn
I know Uttoxeter is a different area , but you just never know these days if she had been picked up.
Lynn
Hijust seen this on Facebook....could be worth checking I know the age states younger than Emma , but you never know? There is also a photo of her on the site Rugby paw prints.

Good luck in finding her.

This lovely girl was found this evening in Uttoxeter. A Yorkshire Terrier, grey ...and tan in colour, approx 5-7 yrs old. No collar, visible ID or microchip. The people who found the dog have held on to her for the time being and will keep her if she goes unclaimed. Lee.See more

Don't think it is the little girl at Battersea, just been to look at her, she has her canine teeth and her colouring is slightly differant. She also hasn't been spayed.
Have you made a report at Battersea though?
emmalouise
re the found dog i think she's probably younger than emma and doesn't seem to have signs of missing teeth
the advert is a good idea, and really do concentrate on postering as i think it's very likely someone has taken her in and probably thinks she has no home if she doesn't have a collar and looks scruffy, you need to let them know someone is missing her a lot!
Louloun
Thank you I' tried ringing the warden but no answer I don't think it's her as she looks a little bigger we have a advert going out in Greenwich times tues hopefully might jog someone memmory thank you everyone for your help didn't realise how many dogs go missing my mum is very upset that's why I am doing all the looking
Louloun
Yeah Emma is 13and she doesn't have a collar on as she doesn't like them she is small and Emma has no teeth

I've just read on a post on Fb that Emma is 13 years old

Louloun if you have more photo's of Emma, maybe one where she is standing, one that shows all of her? pls send to my email, thank you.

Hope Emma is found very soon x

Can email alerts go out please, Admin, thank you x

Also bumped her page!

We live just of avery hill road new eltham we have postered only in eltham area we have avery hill park and charlton training ground right near us will go up there I'm still trying to upload photo of Emma have sent it to admin really didn't think of gum tree thanknyou for your help
ellejay
Sorry to see this girl is missing, where abouts in eltham was this ?

I am in bromley so will look out this side and spread the word....look on all free ad websites like gumtree, preloved etc incase someone is advertising her on there

Poster out as far as you can.

If you can, contact local football clubs, do Charlton have a home game this weekend ? Get them to do an announcement over tannoy, ( they can do this at half time ) that would be at least 7 thousand people knowing about her.

Contact your local brownie and scout groups, they can put posters up and help look, it's a case of making her hot property..,,

Give postman a poster, local can firms these are the people out daily.

Target dog walkers in parks .. Let's get her well known around these parts.
Louloun
Thank u I have looked at photo looks like Emma but I need to no has this dog got any teeth as Emma has none

Found yorkie on this page in found section on here !
Louloun
There have been a number of little dogs stolen from this area which as u say is very worrying Im hoping little old lady has thought she was a stray and took pity on her that's what I am telling my mum I have sent a photo to admin to upload a photo thank u for your help will poster more areas
emmalouise
if you go to under the 'views' bit on this page it should say about updating the page, then at the bottom of all the info there should be a choose file button allowing you to upload a photo from your pc
but if you still have trouble i'm sure if you emailed a photo to admin they could do it for you?
you've done all the right things, please don't be disheartened yet i'm sure she'll show up
if you can (or helpers in the area) i would try putting more posters up, it's surprising how far even a small dog can get or can be picked up and taken further by someone, she may have be taken in by someone who thinks she has no home (especially if she does look a bit scruffy!) make her as well known in the area as you can
i also think that new eltham is the location where quite a few dogs have been stolen..does anyone know if this is right? which worries me a bit, but hopefully being old would make her useless to them
Louloun
We have contacted everyone police local vets dog wardens just nothing we put posters up same day she went missing local shop have a poster up and we have put them in our cars she has just vanished I'm trying to upload her photo on here but Im bit confused how to
emmalouise
what a good name choice...
have you done the basics? contacted your local dog warden and those in surrounding areas and local vets? (particularly if she looks scruffy and teethless she might be taken to a vets)
it's also important to poster especially with a little yorkie it's likely someone will have picked her up, if you can get a picture of her (or a similar dog if you don't have one) you can print off posters from here
you need to be pretty quick with this as she's already been missing for 5 days and without being tagged or microchipped she can be rehomed or pts after the 7 days are up!
Louloun
Hi my mums beloved dog Emma went missing on sat she ran out door by time my mum got to end of road she had vanished she was last seen on avery hill road at 9 in morning she is very scruffy she also gets scared shakes a lot please if anyone has seen her please contact us she also has no teeth
Admin
Sorry to see that EMMA SIGHTED is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (38659)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
