Brilliant news that Red is safely back home.
I can only echo all you say minigirl. It is SO important to visit the pound in person.

Red is an example of how important it is to visit the pound in person. He was picked up yesterday afternoon and registered in the kennel as unchipped and aged 3-4.
It was discovered that his chip has migrated to his shoulder.

Red has been found safe and well. He was picked up yesterday near Stocksbridge and taken to council kennels.
Owner's son has collected him.He is incredibly grateful and overwhelmed by all the support they have received and says he will sign up as a helper.

Red was also sighted yesterday near Chaucer school S5.
owners doing a great job of postering the area and spreading the word.
They will telephone vets, dog warden and stray kennels again today.

poster sent to the local rescues, put on Sheffield Forum and posted on facebook. I have some time at the weekend to help with a search if needed

Red is an 8 year old much loved family pet. He escaped the garden at 9.30 this morning and there has been one reported sighting of him in the area around 11.
owner has been out searching and postering all day.
Microchip company and all relevant authorities have been notified
Some local vets have been informed-others will be telephoned tomorrow
Owner is going to contact local radio tomorrow and has secured appeal in Sheffield Star for friday.
Fingers crossed someone has taken in this boy for safe keeping and he will be home soon xx
