Found dog in Birmingham, West Midlands, United Kingdom, B14 4AJ
I found the dog running up and down my road. He looked tired and after a bit of chasing he stopped and I picked him up to check for identification.

Thanks for your advice Lynn.
Lynn
and another thoguht .......could you put a missing ad and photo on Gumtree and some more free ads? you never know someone again might know someone who has just got a new dog similar......or they could also look out for any ad on there ? all worth a try......x
Lynn
Another thought ,....maybe poster right outside schools , as well as inside them ? someone's child might play with another who has just "aquired! a dog?
Lynn
Hi Stacey I do hope you find George soon ( I too have a Shih Tzu a little girl) , I so feel for you! is the child you saw maybe school age? , as if she is, and she goes to school locally maybe they might walk the dog there, maybe worth postering in schools!! a child might see and say "we have a dog like that" or "my friend/ mummys friend has that dog"....worth a try.....also loacl press? & radio? flyers through doors, local pet shops, hopefully with enough publicity someone will spot him soon ......good luck , I will keep checking on news and also share on F/B ...as I say sadly I'm too far away to help anymore, but I aslo check Gumtree etc for any missing dog.....lets keep fingers crossed. xx

Stacey, are you doing a Sentinel ad? Might be well worth it I think. Also, whereabouts in Stoke did you see the dog with the lady and child, was it actually near to Sainsbury's? I live just up the road from there in Penkhull and am up and down around there literally all the time so will keep a keen eye out for you in this area. I would also suggest you take a poster into the PDSA Petaid Hospital which is just a few hundred yards along the road from Sainsbury's (going out towards Trent Vale) as if this was George you saw, they might well take him in there at some time.Last edited: 2012-03-15 11:17:43 by Gaynor

Hi guys would just like to say thank you all for your support. George still has not being found but i thought i saw a possible sighting of him in stoke town centre on sunday with a lady and child' was unable to stop due to traffic and one way system :-( as we went back round they had gone. Took posters down to the local sainsburys down there so fingers crossed! I have emailed the user on gumtree regarding the jack russell so hopefully will hear back from them soon. We just want george to be safe and come home as he is greatly missed. Thank you again for all your help. Stacey (Georges owner)

Thanks for your help guys. Stacey, maybe you could reply to the Gumtree add and ask for a photo of the dog. That way you could check it out yourself and not rely on someone else knowing the different breeds.

This is a long shot and I debated putting it here but someone advertised on gumtree they found a male dog in Meir but they have said a jack russell, I would not mistake a shitzu for a jack russell but I still think it's worth checking out. I hope that is OK. It is one of those email only adverts so am posting the link to the advert. http://www.gumtree.com/p/pets/found/98248351
Trella
met with owner and advised locations for posters etc supplied 30 posters to help...hope she locates him as he is a dearly missed family pet.

Spoke to owner, no news on George, but she has postered with the help of someone from here. Owner now going to put ad in paper as it is free for missing pets. Highways Agency have not picked anything up and Railtrack have also been notified. George may have been picked up and sold on. PLEASE contact owner if you know where hs is. Thank you.
Lynn
I've also shared on facebook, hope he is found very soon, such a cutie. Lots of publicity is needed to help get him home, I'm too far away to help search as I'm in Warwickshire. But good luck, and pray he's found very soon!!!

Sorry to see that GEORGE is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (37627)

  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
