Glad the write up went in the West sussex Times! Also there should be a longer article in the Haslemere Herald with a picture of Trooper and me with my daughters in front of the tree. They wanted a family pic with the 'aagh' factor!Hopefully will be in this week. trooper is much better thankyou, still thin but putting on weight and thankfully the vet thinks we can avoid surgery to his foot. He is back to his normal mischievious self and we are not taking our eyes off him when in the garden in case he does a Houdini act again! Bevx

What a lovely write up about Trooper and his travels there was in our local paper today. And well done Bev (the owner) for talking about Doglost in the interview with the paper - it certainly was a good mention and like you am hoping it will encourage more local people to register with Doglost as helpers. Hope Trooper has settled back in okay and now you can look forward to a lovely xmas with him. Julie x

This is such great news. What a very clever little man he is. 'The incredible journey' or what! - especially with a broken painful leg. This is an extremely newsworthy story and would surely bring in welcome new recruits for Doglost, which in turn could mean more doggies being reunited. This is truly an amazing story. I shall go to bed a lot happier now. x

um Jayne 3 days, more like 3 hours lol, welcome home handsome you are such a clever lad x

What fantastic news this is. I live only about an hour from where Trooper went missing and I was only thinking of him and all the other poor babies out there in that horrific weather out there tonight. I have been checking his page daily and been hoping for a miracle and then goodness me I have just logged on to see this. I am so pleased for Trooper to have made it home - what a clever boy. The family must all be on cloud 9 tonight - and my .... what a good nights sleep you are going to have knowing your boy is there with you. Hope you are feeling back to your old self very soon gorgeous boy xxx

What brilliant news. So happy for Trooper and his owners. Have been looking out for him but was so worried as he'd been clipped by a car and there hadn't been any news. He certainly has lived up to his name. What a trooper, bless him. Made my day xx

Our boy is home! We had a phone call at 9am today from the owners of the house where we lived until 2 years ago[7 miles away] to say a black lab had been barking at the back door and was now in their kitchen. I drove there straight away and there Trooper was, very skinny and subdued but looking healthy. Just back from the vet, he has lost 10 kgs and probably broke his back leg and has infected foot but nothing life threatening. It just seems like a miracle. Our other lab will not leave him alone so now Trooper is asleep in the other room in his bed. Thankyou everyone for all your support and help, I did not know about Doglost until we lost Trooper. I registered as a helper but could this be confirmed please. Just waiting for 2 oclock so i can ring my daughter in New York who is back next week to give her the wonderful news. Bev and Mike, Natalie and Laura

Hi Bev King, I have put your request in for alerts to go out in that area - Hope Tropper is found very soon x
bev plaistow
we had aphone call this pm from a man walking near Chiddingfold golf club off Fisher lane, the Plaistow/Shillinglee side of Chiddingfold who saw a lone black lab in the distance walking across a field. as the crow flies this is only 2-3 miles from where Trooper was last seen. We immediately drove over and walked the bridleway from Fisher lane near Tugley Farm. No sightings but did hear distant barking. Have asked the golf club to alert members.Could alerts be sent to any helpers in that area please? Many thanks
bev plaistow
2011/11/11 bev king. unfortunately we have not had any sightings since the evening he disappeared from our garden[RH14 0PH] and was hit by a car on the Dunsfold/Plaistow Road about 500yards away near Weald Barkfold Farm. All the fields bordering that road have been searched and immediate woodland to no avail. Local farmers have been on the lookout. We have no idea how badly he was injured but seems odd that he has disappeared without trace. local vets, microchip co plus RSPCA all notified. Thanks for everyones help.Last edited: 2011-11-11 17:02:38 by bev plaistow

Have the local vets been notified?
swhatapug
I have been keeping an eye out when driving cross country from loxwood..There is so much woodland he could be anywhere..Fingers crossed he is found soon
Julie B
Thanks Angus. I just wondered if he is still missing ? Maybe owners could update every couple of days to let us know of possible sightings or where they have searched so that we know which way he could be heading. I am in Horsham. I wonder if owners managed to put advert in west sussex county times paper for tomorrow as this would certainly help as it is the local paper in the area Trooper was lost and in all surrounding areas. I do hope Trooper is safe.
DogLostAngus
I have just had an update Julie - he is still missing - owners are out putting more posters up but no calls or sightings
Julie B
Is there any news on this poor fella - is he still missing or has he been found ?
Any update would be appreciated. x
Julie B
Have there been any sightings at all of Trooper? Would be a good idea to contact the West Sussex County Times newspaper tomorrow (Monday) to get a lost advert put in the paper for this Thursday. You can contact them on 01403 751200. I think the deadline for this Thursdays newspaper is 5pm tomorrow. I do hope that you hear something soon on Trooper. At least with an advert in the paper it will bring to everyone in the surrounding area's attention that he is missing. If he was hit by a car and limping he may not have travelled too far - I do hope that he is found very soon x
