i have just come on this site,i have been helping heather look for dana and i read the post about the dog in the farmers field ,i'm sorry to say but i think that was my friends sheltie millie as she went missing from thurcroft last week in july and was found in the farmers corn field .The field was on pocket handkerchief lane at Todwick.[as he was cutting it] on august 24th 2011 ,she was at the other side of a ditch and had been going round and round the field to get out and was very skinny and weak when found as the poor girl had been living on grass, she has made a full recovery and is back with the breeder.Hope this clears this up.hope you find your girl soon and when we are out looking for dana we will keep our eyes peeled.Last edited: 2012-01-22 10:33:33 by dorofin

We have been back out again tonight, ive done non stop Spider searching since 2.30 with Phebe. Im exhausted and feeling somewhat emotional as to why we still havent found Spidey. No one has come forward with any sightings dispite her being in the housing estates. Posters are now in harthill, i guess now all we can do is sit and wait for a while. Thanks so much to Whisper, she is an absolute treat and i look forward to our sessions with her for many reasons. what a dog!!! keep up the good work xxxxx

We have continued where we left off on Sunday. I expected the trail would have continued into the Kiveton slag heaps park but it didn't, it went back into the village and down the road to Wales village before turning into a housing estate where a footpath led into more fields. We finally ended this session at Harthill. Spider seems to love the fields but it looks as if she is nipping into the villages to scavenge at night.

Advertised in The Countryman's Weekly magazine today. I hope it brings some news.

Wispa and I were back on the trail today. Found an old trail in N Anston which took us round a fields and across the A57, across fields and around a fishing lake, through more fields and finally into Kiveton where there appeared to be a fresh trail around a play park. Wispa was very keen to head to Kiveton slag heaps (now a greened-over area) but she had done nearly 2 hours non-stop work and was starting to lose concentration. Her people will be searching that area with their other dogs.

Hi, sorry i hadnt seen that my mother in law had posted on here too so i was well confused when you called the other day Heather. sorry about that. no i dont think they have but i will ask again for you, no probs. We will get together this week adn do some more postering. We have targetted the area where the tracker dog was most keen but now need to go further afield. We will do anything to get Spidey home xxx

Hi Spiders Mum....did the Farmer say what breed of Dog it was that hung around for 4 weeks in August, thats the time Dana went on walkabout and she was spotted on the A57 it could have been her, its a longshot but I'm deperate to find her !
BDRR
I'm going to walk through the fields on the north east side of the A57 between Todwick lights and Anston Crossroads. This is where the tracker dog has been most keen. Spoken to a lovely farmer who has allowed access to all his land (where the tracker dog has been) and has said that, in August, a dog remained within 50 yards of a stream for a period estimated at 4 weeks. He also said food on his land is plentiful so she may stay put. Also spoken to the staff at the dump-it site and a number of people out walking. We can't lose hope and will follow ANY sightings or clues.

Today has been a great success. Still no Spider, BUT Whisper the tracker dog has been out with us today, and we have had a 2 hour walk resulting in a very strong scent. We have found lots of dead pigeon and rabbits that were getting fresher. I know now in my heart that she hasnt been stolen and that she is off on a jolly somewhere. We will contimnue our search int he new area and fingers crossed Whisper is attending a walk again with us on Sunday :) I can not thank you all enough for the help. Heather (Danas mum) has also been in contact and is joing us in placing posters up. Keep up the good work guys, you are all amazing xxxxx

Have spoken to Spiders owner Dalrimple and they have done all the right things so far, contacting petlog, stray kennels , dog warden and postering. There is also a thread for her on the Sheffield Forum. In view of the fact Spider was wearing a red collar, tag and dogtrust scanme tag it is a concern that someone may have found and kept her and not reported this to her owner or the dog warden which they are required to do BY LAW. Hoping that posters will work in getting this much loved girl back home. x Pam

Still no sign od our Spider. We have now targetted bin men, posties etc, and still drawing blanks. Someone somewhere MUST have seen her. She has liturally just vanished from the back of our house. Thanks to DogLost we now have some brilliant posters and have bgan to distribute them and place them in local shops nad on lamp posts. I just worry with how cold and wet its been. I hope shes not injured somewhere. Place any help you can give us, sightings or anything, please get in touch xxxxx
