The Saltcoats sighting is still unresolved. We have placed further ads in the local newspapers covering the Saltcoats area and put up more posters in neighbouring shops, so far without success. The search continues - someone out there knows something. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Received a call a few days ago to say that Jack may have been spotted in Saltcoats. We have been investigating and putting up posters in the area, so far without success. All assistance appreciated. Please contact at any time: 07811-438586.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the info. I have checked with Cardonald. A black lab was handed in yesterday. Unfortunately no chocolates since June '05 and we know that he was claimed by the owner. The search goes on - once again thanks for keeping a look out.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Was it Jack in Cardonald? We live only 10 minutes far away from the SPCA. Is there is anything I can do just let me know. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is labrador dog on lost and found dog pages, taken to Cardonald Cat and Dog Home. Not much details and doesn't state colour but worth a look? xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Two 'sightings' in Largs over the last week - however, not Jack - a different chocolate lab on the loose. I picked up 'Max' and returned him to his owner. Good to know that people are still looking out. We have been refreshing the area with new posters and continue to spread the word. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the info. Have checked with East Midlands Rescue - owners collected the chocolate lab yesterday. Continuing to put up posters and following up all leads.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

checking out the noticeboard - it seems strange - peculiar that 2 Lab's both Chocolate are "lifted" from Largs and Erskine at the beginning of JUNE! I strongly believe now that these dogs have been taken to be used as stud dogs! the search goes on.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Allison - close call. I am still trying to confirm that the dog in Irvine was returned to its owner. Also, continuing the mailing campaign to far flung pounds and breeders. Someone knows something.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

David - had a call last night 2100hrs about a Chocolate Lab running loose in Port Glasgow, so drove round and round this scheme and eventually caught the dog ! which unfortunately is not Jack! it was a small Lab bitch! with a red collar. Sorry - i was so excited and my hopes were high. but not to be this time. Was giving the bitch a biscuit and the owner came running round the corner her kids left the gate open! The search goes on........... Allison - Petsearch Inverclyde. 01475 637575Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I was wondering if there was any word about the Chocolate Lab that was sighted in Paisley maybe it could be the dog that is missing from Erskine.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Four sightings of a chocolate labrador on the loose in the 'Low Green Road' area of Irvine on Friday. Thanks to those who called. I now believe the dog was gathered in by a local man living in the West Road/Castle Street area. Apparently he had unsuccessfully tried to call a number on the dog's collar and was going to take the dog home and try again. Although the dog is unlikely to be Jack, I am trying to track this man down to see if had made contact with the number. The hunt goes on.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Following another mention in the Daily Record today, received a call from a lady in Paisley reporting sighting of a young, chocolate lab on its own, this morning, foraging in the bins for food - junction of Causeyside Street and George Street. Dog Warden is currently in the area and we will head over with posters. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Rather disappointing news from Marina Kennels - the chocolate labrador found yesterday was not Jack. The owners collected this morning. It was always a bit of a long shot. Back on the trail. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is the same one that owner is checking out at Marina kennels-now how many dogs have we recovered from Marina from different parts of the country? Some thing is going on in the Leeds area for sure-so many pedigree dogs dumped.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

David do the usual scenting tricks in the area (ie urine) and take a tin of smelly pilchards to tempt him to you. Anyone in Largs please post or let us know if you can help!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes - yesterday (Saturday 11th June) again in Largs - near the Spar shop close to Largs Academy. Spotted by a man eating a sausage roll - Jack was very attentive and managed to scrounge a mouthful. Unfortunately the man was not aware of Jack's story and only recounted the story to one of my daughter's friends hours later. We've scoured the area and will be back out this afternoon. Many thanks for e-mailing the posters. Following an announcement at the local High School (Largs Academy) this morning, first report of a possible sighting last Tuesday (7th June) - large, brown, short haired dog, glossy coat, resembling the photograph on its own in Largs walking from Nelson Street into George Street (where our vet is located). For a Labrador, Jack is on the large side and muscular - quite distinctive. He's out there somewhere. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for your advice and support. Our town is now full of posters and we have spread the word through the local schools, press, post offices, farms etc. However, still no sightings of Jack. The challenge is now to spread the word into neighbouring towns close to Largs - Ardrossan/ Saltcoats/Stevenson and Greenock/Gourock. All assistance appreciated. Come on home Jack. Can I advise you to send in a picture and then print this off loads of times and put it in every shop and business in the area where you dog was lost because if like my dog, someone has taken it in it won't be too long before someone notices it!!! It worked for me!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There was a dog handed in to Cardonald Cat & Dog Home - a Chocolate Labrador (a bit of a distance right enough). It has a collar. Only know this cos I thought it was mine and viewed him but it was not to be!! He looks older though - about 6 or 7 years!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
