If this lass is so shy - and she will be more so after such a long time, may I suggest you talk to Rat Dedicoat at Holytrees who is vastly experienced in catching dogs who have gone feral. His number is 01564 823244. He gave me lots of advice for if I could find where Rags was. Sadly I haven't, but it sounds as though you might be luckier.

Rosie has been sighted many times in the same area. A feeding station has been set up and is manned on a rota by people that Rosie knows well who leave new 'smells' each time. Local residents have been really helpful; all appear to be aware of Rosie and many are keeping an active look-out - thanks to an extensive poster and flyer campaign. Unfortunately though, Rosie is clearly petrified of anyone she doesn't know, so we are trying to ensure that the area surrounding the feeding station is only frequented by people Rosie knows.

There's a female b & w border collie found today in Upton/Malvern, found in a field in a weak condition. I've texted Sharon-Rosie's owner with details and tel no. Rosie had been sighted weeks ago on the riverside at Bewdley, she could have travelled down to upton on Severn along the river route. Rosie is microchipped, but I'm told that microchips can move about if the dog loses a lot of weight, so could be missed by the scanner. Fingers & toes crossed!!

Last Sunday I spotted another missing dog poster for the same area as Rosie, and rang them. Thankfully they had got their microchipped beagle back, but with difficulty because although there was a 'found' beagle at Dunclent Kennels,- the warden said that they didn't have scan equipment, and that the kennels do it. The lady at the kennel said he was wet when he came in, so the scan didn't work.(this was the thursday evening), she then scanned again on Monday, after they told her he was chipped....THEN she found it! They were charged for 4 nights board. They only found out where the dog was as a result of a caller having seenn one of their posters.
Is this a general problem - microchips not showing-up if the dog is wet? AND, excuse my ignorance, but is it true that the chips can move around in the dogs, and finally - is whoever scans the dog for a microchip - professionally trained to do so?

Caught up with Rosies owner gain tonight. Local sighting have proved not to be Rosie, but owner thinks there is a posibility the sighting at Lye head may be her, so please can everyone focus on that area for the time being. Thanks again to all local helpers ! XX

I postered rosie tonight, all around the Basin in Stourport, where canal boats and bikers frequent. also the immediate cafes, buildings and offices relevant to boating. Then went to Shrawley, Rose & Crown pub,village hall, nursery, post boxes and the Lenchford. Can someone poster the busy shop on the main road just past Vale Vets, and notice boards in Astley - it's so close to Rosie's home - someone might have seen her! Also close to river . Unfortunately a customer at the Lenchford told me that 2 collies had been stolen a few days ago - from Top Barn. N

So hope your lovely girl is home very soon. Collies are amazing and can survive for many weeks in the wild. Have you plotted the sightings (& the possible sightings) on a map? Does it show a triangle emerging? If so, this is her route. One other thing, do you have any railway lines around? You need to rule that out, so ask at the stations and also Network Rail. Keep those posters going up - you are doing a grand job. Let's get your baby home! x

Lurked in the Lyehead area last night just as it was dropping dark, and along the roads through that area back down to the Stourport to Gt Witley road, hoping that perhaps we'd catch a glimpse if she was there and coming out in search of a twilight snack.... Will try and go again tonight, but out on a transport tomorrow.

Firstly, a very big THANK YOU to everyone who is helping in the search for Rosie. Yesterday especially was an emotional rollercoaster as the sightings in Lye Head (DY12 2**) had been discounted - as the colouring has been wrong or they are thought to be local dogs, then reinstated as possible sightings of Rosie, then discounted again and finally reinstated. There was also false hope regarding another found dog in Eastham (WR6) that fitted Rosie’s description in most ways.

The sightings in Chorley (WV16 6**) and Lye Head/Long Bank (DY12 2**) could certainly be Rosie – with the help of Sarah, Roz, Nola, Bev, Caroline, Nick and others, posters have gone up in these areas, appeals gone out on the radio, all vets and kennels contacted, all postmen covering these areas have had posters and many other things besides.

Other areas shouldn’t be dismissed but, due to circumstances completely beyond my control, I cannot get out as much as I would like, which is very frustrating. So I would be very grateful to anyone who could put up posters (in shops, pubs, notice boards, on public pathways...) in Shrawley, Grimley, Holt Heath, Hallow and even in Worcester.

Drove around Middleton Scriven and Sidbury this afternoon but no sightings. Highley has been postered as well as Chorley, Stottesdon, Bagginswood. Bridgnorth Posties all have a copy of her poster.

There are still sightings of a dog at Lyehead which the owner has followed up.

There is lots of work going on behind the scene and we are all praying that Rosie shows herself again over the weekend. Come on Rosie, don't be shy.

Just found out about Rosie from Dial a dog wash, I have met Rosie on a few occasions, Gorgeous Girl, Lovely nature. I have posted the link on my facebook and encouraged all my friends to repost the Dog Lost link, many of them are in the Dunley/Stourport area. Also I will print some posters and put them up where I can. I will keep my eyes open for Rosie, I travel around Wyre Forest in the course of my work on a daily basis. I have also asked my friends to print the poster as well to put in their cars. I heart goes out to Rosies family, I have 2 Border Collies myself, I can only Imagine how they are feeling. If a reward is offered, I will contribute whatever I can. Jane

With my searching of Cap and with Rosie missing, over the last 2 1/2 weeks calls are coming in of regular sightings of a collie dog at Lyehead. So I have just rung the police to contact the local CSO in the Lyehead area to ask if they would visit owners of collie dogs to ask them to keep their dogs in. This will hopefully then reduce sightings of collie dogs and if so, would confirm that the collie dog being seen is a local. Alternatively, if sightings still come in then it would confirm there is a stray. Hope that makes sense!

I stayed around tonight till it fell dark, looking thro binocs across fields hoping to catch a glimpse, but sadly nothing.

owner is on the way back from this area now, having done lots of postering at local pubs , caravan park etc. She has a big gang of friends helping her which is fantastic. Lets hope we get another sighting soon. Im going to send out scenting and plotting advice sheets

There has been what seems a probable sighting of Rosie at a caravan park in Chorley, Shropshire (quite near Highley and north of Bewdley where there was a possible sighting last Wednesday).

This afternoon, went very slowly & carefully round Gorst Hill, Bliss Gate, Lyehead, Deasland, Heightington, stopping and watching, scanning the fields through gateways etc putting up some more posters and stopping folk to ask.

Thank you to everyone I accosted today on Stafford services whilst I was waiting to meet a dog coming into rescue (sadly she didn't come).
I made good use of the time by showing posters of Rosie (and Rags) to lots of lovely people, and asking them to keep a look out & spread the word.

There are several sightings of a collie (may/may not be Rosie) in the following areas - Heightington (Thursday), a field behind the Elms hotel in Abberley, Colliers Arms PH (A456) and Gorst Hill near the Royal Foresters PH. Will go driving around these areas today and poster where necessary.

Not as far as I know, haven't been in touch with owner since yesterday, and haven't had chance to drive out that way myself yet, as a bit tied up the next couple of days, and am 'transporting'on Sunday. Not enough days....etc
Anything you can do will help and be much appreciated by owner I'm sure.
I don't think there are many people out this way to help.

Please if anyone can help spread the word for Rosie and her worried Mum it would be brilliant!!!

Wonderful muddy puddle! I drove through Stourport, Dunley, Gt Witley on the A451 at luchtime, looking as best as i could. I then had a more leisurely slow drive back through at teatime, giving me time to look more carefully. Saw posters up.
I went round all the lanes through Rock, Greenlands(?), Heightington, Bliss gate and down into Dunley, then turned right down Pearl Lane towards Astley then right along the back roads back into Dunley. Couple dogs loose in driveways out along country, but very busy, lanes with fast traffic.
Saw a collie at one point almost in the road, but he shot down a lane, hopefully back home. It clearly wasn't Rosie.
Have been spreading the word today, neighbour's daughter lives in Gt Witley.
If the Norbridge sighting was definitely their own dog, then that puts the later sighting yesterday more likely to be Rosie perhaps, and the Great Witley one out of contention as Rosie wasn't lost then.
Spoke to owner too this morning, hurry up home Rosie! Roz x

I've spoken with owner earlier this afternoon about sightings at Rock. I've been to Norbridge who confirm it is their dog that was seen playing with horses Wednesday morning. Their dog is tri-coloured.

I have searched the area at Little Barratts Farm which is derelict, searched the buildings and the fields where there was a sighting of a collie their yesterday evening. This may have been the Norbridge dog but the owner didn't think their dog went down that far.

Barratts Court has a poster. I have postered the following areas:

Corner next to Norbridge (House name), Bus stop at Rock, Opposite the pub in Rock, Bliss Gate Notice Board, Heightington Notice Board, Heightington Caravan club, bottom of Hurtle hill, post pointing towards Joans Hole on the Abberley Road and a post on the Worcestershire way/Abberley Circular route. I ran out of posters at this point.

Rosie has disappeared from her farm. She is a pet not a working collie, ususally stays close, and will always come to a whistle. Owners have started postering, and have contacted the DW and local vets. I will email out advice sheets . Owners feel she may have been picked up by someone local. Ive suggested putting a piece in the local paper, and to blanket the area with posters to start with
