I wondered if this boy might be a possible match for your missing boy? http://www.wirral.gov.uk/wirraldogs/Detail.asp?DogsID=7089

Apologies for lateness of this comment, but I've only just discovered this website. There was a shih tzu on rampside road near the water works on 13th dec 2011. It had collar but no name tag. Cannot remember colour of collar. I and several others captured him/her. Quite some feat - really fast !! The dog looked well, albeit a little muddy. A nice lady took him/her and I believe she was either going to ask police or pound for advice. Long shot as I'm sure you've already checked these out?

Has there been any more news on Harley since the Evening Mail article? I've been up Gill banks a couple of times through the week and walked right through to Hoad again on Friday but no sign of him and I post on facebook regularly. Hate to ask but has anyone been able to get down to the stream and walk through it in case he's fallen in and has got stuck somewhere along the bank, I know it's a horrible thought but at least you would know what's happened.

harley, thanks for updating his page.

Keep up the brilliant work, very often it is the POSTERS that get dogs back. Great you had him in the paper and if you can get him in again with a photo that will help. Let us know which day it is in so his page can be bumped again. Good luck. Jan x

Just got back from walk, first chance I've had since the other night, went from Gill right through to Hoad & back but didnt see him. Took some posters with me too but saw a few up so didnt want to put more up & risk them being taken down, a few is better than none at all! Really thought he would have been home by now, will keep checking in for any sightings and going up there as often as I can.

Just got back from a walk up Gill Banks, never been up there before think I'll be making it a regular walk! There's a lot of dense undergrowth that he could be hiding in. Saw a couple of posters in a car & house on the Gill but none on the actual walk, I'm happy to print some off and put them up there for you. Has he been seen at all since he disappeared? Great to see Ambrose the beagle is back home, lets hope its not long before Harley is back with you.

Spoken to owner who has done a brilliant job already and contacted the right people. They have broadened their search into Scotland as well. I've asked for more photo/s especially when in full coat to do a multi pic. He may have been picked up and finder has not reported him to the right authorities. Jan x

Hi, I live in Askam so not in the local area but if you get any sightings I am willing to join in, do hope you find this baby soon. There is a beagle missing from Ulverston too may be worth joining up or sharing ideas. Irene Last edited: 2011-06-08 12:38:42 by Angus

Sorry to see that HARLEY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (30265)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
