What a day it has been for the NW great to finally see Mutley and Beauty go into the BLUE. This has made a lot of people very happy and makes it all worthwhile. Received some photo/s this afternoon from Ange via mobile and have only just been able to upload them, great when we receive reunited photo/s it finishes the page of nicely.

Have spoken to Ange a few times during the day and earlier on tonight Mutley is very subdued at the moment but with time he will soon be back to his normal self. Great Ange was able to get him CHIPPED before leaving the kennels.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped look out for him. Sending Mutley lots of hugs and cuddles. Jan x

This is fantastic Jan. I don't think I will get much sleep either tonight LOL. We were all getting worried on the FB page the other day that everything had gone quiet. I bet she is counting the hours until tomorrow xx
BC
Thanks Jan for letting me know, i just missed your call, oh god i really hope this is Mutley, fingers and everything else crossed for his safe return x
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
Spoken to Ange who is obviously very excited and don't think will be getting much sleep tonight.

The DW contacted her approx 4.30pm and the description matches Mutley perfectly, he still has the same collar on and was picked up approx 2 mile from home by the DW around 12.30pm. Ange will let us know when she has been to the kennels whether it is Mutley. Have advised to get him CHIPPED if possible before taking him home. Wishing you lots of luck Ange and look forward to the update tomorrow. Jan x

OK...went to see Neil and showed him the photos. He said the 1st photo was definitely him, the 2nd definitely wasn't. This dog was like the 1st photo all over. It didn't seem that old and he wasn't sure whether it was a bitch/dog. The dog was with him for about 2 hours and at one point they were in the car park with a football. It wasn't obvious whether it had a hearing / sight problem.

Drove around for about 2 hours but didn’t see anything, very industrial area so could be anywhere.. Asked lots of dog walkers and two men did say that I was the 2nd person in 20 minutes to ask if they had seen a collie and asked me if I was from a local estate, so may be that another collie is missing in the area. Went to Tameside Animal Shelter and they had a border collie stray in and let me look but it wasn’t Mutley, left his details with them.

Spoke to Ang and explained what had happened. I will try and pop up to the area when I can and ang said she may go there at weekend and do some scenting. Could do with some posters in the area but I have no printer ggrrr!! Will try and find somebody who can print them off from a disc for me.

His new poster was emailed to the AW's last night and to all the ones I sent to see the list posted in my post dated 2011-03-28 18:24.

Ang did you get the various size posters o.k. Don't forget to hand one into anywhere you go and ask if they will display it for you. He does look like two different dogs in the new photo but when the new photo is blown up you can see his Merle facial markings.

The dog at the Snooker Club sounds really promising. Ang please read the Scenting Instructions I emailed out to you. Hope it is not long before you get more sightings and that most important phonecall. Good luck. Jan x
BC
Any comment from Neil yet, whether he thinks this may of been Mutley
DogLostJackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
Unfortunately my printer isn't working at the moment but I have downloaded both photos to my phone. Keeping my fingers crossed. Got your phone number too Ange.

Heard back from AW, no developments since the sighting was reported. Haven't sent his photo as he is already registered with them.

ange
Jackalee you are a star, I told Neil from the snooker club to look on this website to confirm that it was Mut for defo great idea to take in a piccy Thank You x
DogLostJackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
Rang Tameside Dog Warden and they have sent me straight to AW. Been unable to get hold of AW, its constantly ringing out.
Neil who works at the snooker club is on duty at 7pm tonight so going then with a photo of Mutley.
Tameside Animal Shelter is just a couple of streets away from the snooker hall. I have left a message for them to ring me but not heard anything yet. Will try and call later but doubt they will be open.

Can't find an email address for any of the above but will keep trying by pjhone
BC
If the dog warden happens to pick this dog up, has anyone emailed her photos of Mutley, also is it worth checking rescues in the area (if Any) in case someone picks him up and just drops him at a rescue centre?? just in case it is him
ange
Thanks so much jackalee you are all so kind Neil from the snooker club is having a good look about too....lets hope!! Neil said that the dog he saw was not malnourished or anything which is good given that Mut has been out there for 2 weeks now.
DogLostJackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
Hi Ange, I can't believe this, I am about 10 mins drive from the snooker club but I've got to go out for the afternoon GGGRRRRR! I will try my very best to go up this evening and take some food with me and a slip lead just in case. Will be able to go early evening. Will keep you posted.x
ange
sorry for the confusion regretfully I just dont have any really good piccies of him which show his colouring if I ever get him back a full photo shoot will be needed
mumstaxi
silly question is this definately the same dog ?
ange
Hey everyone looks as though he was with Neil from the snooker club I just spoke to him and it sounded very much like Mutley, whats he doing in SK14????
sadly he has run off again!! does anyone live in that area keep your eyes open!! Thanks to you allx

Incorporated both photo/s together for his posters. Jan x
DogLostJackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
Oh my goodness, he looks a different dog!! His ears, markings, can't believe the difference. So Ang has said the second photo is a more accurate one? Right, will start again :)
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
New photo received from Ang, he looks completely different, I'll do the various size posters and email details out again to Rescues etc. Jan x
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
Thanks Jackalee, Ange has found a photo of Mutley, which shows his true colouring much better and is going to send it to me a.s.a.p. His colour was the first thing I brought up with ang when I first spoke to her. As soon as the photo is received I will add it to his page and posters.

Nothing we can do about the posters that have been sent out but at least we have two numbers now that are useable and if anyone tries to get in touch someone will be able to answer.

I will re-email out when the new photo has been added. Jan x
DogLostJackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
I live only a few minutes drive away from the SK14 area and vaguely know the snooker club where mumstaxi mentioned a collie had been found if anything needs checking out. But sorry to put a dampener on it, the description says its black and white:( We could really do with a better photo showing Mutley is brown and white.

Re the phone numbers on the poster : unfortunately the posters we have now sent everywhere have effectively been rendered useless with a change in both mobile and landline number. oops !!Last edited: 2011-03-28 20:44:45 by Jackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester

Hi, Just found this listing from 19th March on www.animalwardens.co.uk
Male cross found in Manchester M13. Light brown with white markings.
Contact Animal Wardens on 0845 241 7253 or email info@animalwardens.co.uk

http://www.animalwardens.co.uk/index.php?option=com_sobi2&sobi2Task=sobi2Details&_%20%20%20%20catid=0&sobi2Id=10096&Itemid=56

It may be a long shot but light brown and white in the M13 area, it may be worth the owners making further enquiries.Last edited: 2011-03-20 02:03:56 by Jackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester

Have sent emails to RSPCA Manchester and Tameside. Also a few vets in the area but not many of them have email or websites. Will try for a few more tomorrow.

I've put him on my facebook page. Has owner put a poster up in Jollye's pet store at the top end of Birchfields Road? It's the nearest petshop to Birchfields Park so if someone has found him they might go there for food or to check the notice board in there.

Have put Mutley on twitter + will circulate.

I hope Mutley is home soon, he is gorgeous.I am out of the area but will share on FB to spread the word x

I have shared Mutleys details on the FB page of 'Paddy - Come Home' as his story is very similar. http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog_blog.php?dogId=26769 Paddy now has a following of over 800 people on FB all over the country, so it's worth a try.

Now added to Dosh and Sky's FB page as they have a big following too.Last edited: 2011-03-18 12:58:04 by Jackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester

Thanks Jackalee, greatly appreciated. Yes owner said he is brown and white, I've asked if they do have any other photo/s and that he does look black and white on the photo we have on DL. He is very friendly and does not look his age of 16 years. Someone may have taken him in and not reported him the the right people, he could also have been taken out of the area. Jan x
DogLostJackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
He is definitely brown and white then, looks black on the photos. Rang Manchester DW myself yesterday, not much help. Didn't ring Manchester Dogs Home as I wasn't sure of the colouring. It's good that the owners are going. I'm about 10 miles away, doubt he will have come this far but I will keep an eye on the Tameside Dog Wardens site just in case and mention it locally. Hope Mutley is home soon x

Spoken to owner. Mutley is partially BLIND and DEAF. He went missing from his home while door was accidently left open, he may have headed to Birchfield Park but would of found his way home. Owner has contacted the DW and Police, they are going to visit Manchester Dog's Home tomorrow and have started putting posters up. Owner is going to go to the park area with their other dog who Mutley has grown up with.

Updated info to show up on the DL poster and details are now ready for alerts to be sent out. Thanks. Jan x

HI Jackalee - at the moment you have to log in for updates - the feature you are asking for is another project for the future development of the website
DogLostJackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
As soon as a photo comes in I will post on my facebook. I'm the wrong side of Manchester but you never know.

Question - can anybody tell me if / how I can set this so it shows up in my emails if it is updated / comments added? Is this possible ?
