this sight is great but unless you have been through the distress of losing a much loved pet you dont know it exsists - i am always telling people about it and I am going to make a sign for my car advertising it - do you have her poster in your car because if we ever have a local dog missing I print one off and put it in my win dow, this generates a lot of interest - I check your page every couple of days just in case...
lisa
Thank you to everyone for all your continued support,we still do what we can but its all gone very quiet,we'll never forget her an still wait for that miracle phone call, thank you again, lisa,x.

Little black (with white) collie x found in Ellesmere friday am. advertised in Shropshire star tonight. 01691 830129. Have also posted this on missing collie page (stourport) but no other clues so could just as likely be Mollylollypop. x
lisa
Hi folks.wow, lollypops had quite a few viewings.she would be Chuffed knowing how popular she has become....well am afraid we're going to close the chapter on looking for my beautiful girl.I know that in my heart of hearts I have to let her go.I know someone has her and I know Molly will probably be very well looked after and happy. It's the not knowing that's the killer.Take care little 1.Please be happy...Mark.x

Sorry your having no luck finding lolypop i know just how you feel as we ve never had any luck finding Tay.Regarding comments and posts about the owners of the kennels again we share the same experiences, i got told its non of my bussiness and didnt need to know details of all nor any spaniels which had arrived at her kennels since Tay had been stolen because even if Tay had been there he would now have new owners!and that was not my bussiness now!!!!!I was speechless and and barely defended myself even though i know Tay is our dog and shall be for many years to come and that we can reclaim him from his current owner if we ever find where he is we just have to prove its Tay.Currently the law contradicts its self if after 7 days its legal to sell dogs in pounds and yet legally and in my opinion rightfully the dog still belongs to its owner. Its criminal and something dont sit right.Im glad this has been brought to light and happy to get involved to help make changes.Ive also heard of specific rescue centres selling on a dog theyve had for 2 days and the owners were at that time seeking legal advise as they too couldnt force the rescue centre to disclose the whereabouts of their dog which they where actively searching for.Filled with horror and disgust i dont know how much more of what goes on in the life of a dog whoes only crime is to be missing for whatever reason one can take.Hope you receive the good news your waiting for soon.best wishes gailxxx

Has anyone told you about scenting? If you feel confident that it was definately your dog in a certain area, it wouldn't hurt?! Good luck
lisa
Hi peeps.no more news on lollypop am afraid.its all gone very quiet all we can do now is hope n wait.
Scrappy2010
Any more news on Molly ??
lisa
Hi sjp.we haven't given any posters to the rangers as we didn't see any on our travels. We know its lollypop! :)
Feebee
Hi, I'm around this area all the time so will keep looking. Have you given some posters to the park rangers?
lisa
No joy peeps, but I can feel that Molly has been around chell and burslem park.hi sjp,we was told that the sightings were around st Margaret ward school on little chell lane which drops onto tunstall park which in fact connects burslem park and chell.Lisa and I both think and are 99% positive that lollypop is keeping low away from ppl and is in fact making her way home.I have a strange feeling and butterflies in the pit of my gut.I spoke to some kids in burslem park and a little girl described Molly down to the finest detail running towards the gates by the fountain. We are waiting for the moment Molly makes herself known, just got to have patience but we have so much faith.Come on lollypop, its time to come home.x.....mark.Last edited: 2011-06-14 20:29:14 by lisa
AntheaB
heavens Mark, what a rollercoaster you're on. So sorry. Fingers crossed its Molly x

Don't know if anyone else can take this up in their own areas, as this isn't appropriate for Mark at this stage, with him still worrying and looking for Molly, but a colleague of mine has put in an FOI (freedom of information) request about our local dog pound. The initial signs are good, and it appears that they can go to 'whistleblowing procedure', but I can't say any more about that here because the info wasn't for copying.

My point is that these pounds have a financial arrangement with local authorities and it's a fact that both are responsible for the wellbeing (if that's the right word) of animals in their care for at least the first 8 days (in our area's case). After that they become the property of the pound to do as they will with the animal. In the meantime they have a duty to provide care consistent with the animal being not made to suffer mentally or physically. In many pounds this just isn't the case at all. They are treated like dead meat, literally, and I don't know about anyone else, but I think it's high time to start something to change this. Jasper's case has highlighted this, and now look what's happened in Molly's case. Fair enough, she may never have been at the pound, but why treat the owners like that, causing them even more pain and stress.

I apologise, doglost, for using this as a platform, but I felt it needed to be said.
Feebee
Good news about more sightings, Chells not far from me and there is a lot of open space where a dog could hide. Anymore details of whereabouts to start looking.
lisa
Hi guys...yea we have seen their records n we came across a female blk n white collie x that had been rehomed!we demanded to know where this collie had gone and all the manager kept repeating that it isn't our dog and that its been rehomed, but the paperwork wasn't filled in.bit sus!I asked her again and she said that it had gone back to its original owners!!??she was totally uncooperative and extremely hostile.we actually heard a lot of terrible things about this place and we thought it was just circumspect and rumour but now we know....on a positive note there has been 4 sightings of a blk n wht dog in chell stoke on trent.1 was a small to med blk n wht dog sat by the kerb waiting to cross the road and when it was clear of traffic this dog looked and then crossed!Molly use to do the same,so we're hoping and praying that its our lollypop....thanx,mark.Last edited: 2011-06-14 17:56:53 by lisa

As AntheaB says, you need to demand information. I wonder if you could pursue this under the "Freedom of Information Act 2000"? Would definitely be worth looking into if you feel Molly has been rehomed. xx
AntheaB
Mark - if this is the local dog pound you're talking about, that doesn't surprise me. Ours is pretty awful, but actually one of the better ones. Our case has opened up a can of worms where that's concerned. You can demand information from them - the dog pound will have a contract with the local authority. It's complicated so not something you'll want to bother with right now if you don't suspect Mollie was there, but if you do think she turned up there and then disappeared again you need to pursue it.

Any news on the other stray in the park?Last edited: 2011-06-13 07:47:59 by AntheaB

Kimmybear - what lovely things you say. That's brilliant. In all the time I've been looking for Jasper I've learnt that, no matter what you do, and how much of it you do, there's always more, and more. I was thinking I'd put out too many posters and people were maybe getting desensitised to them - I keep replacing them if they go missing, but you're dead right. Just keep going and going. Nobody ever said it was going to be easy. Thanks for geeing me up as well Kimmybear - think I needed that! x
Doglover
Couldn't agree more Kimmybear so positively written. She has to be out there somewhere, dogs don't just "disappear off the face of the earth". The fact that she hasn't been found deceased or injured (and i am sure she would have been if the unthinkable had happened) makes me think she is either roughing it or has been taken in. Poster, poster, poster, it only takes ONE person to recognise her (and she is quite distinctive looking). I feel one day your news will come, keep going, am thinking about you all the time xx
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Keep working on this - you need to know for your own piece of mind and of course, if this was Molly at the kennels you need a chance to get her back. But... Molly could still be out there - as has been said before, collies are amazing dogs and make it through so much! May I suggest you reposter, keep on at the local papers & even complain to them about the kennels attitude - whatever! Just get that publicity out there! Poster everywhere again with a vengence, including outside the dodgy kennels - new owners sometimes come back to chat to kennel staff and may see it. (And I don't just mean one poster, I mean LOADS!) Shame them into having a conscience. Also, I hate to say this but have you double checked any dangers - i.e. railways, water, roads. Make railway men walk the lines to look, check with the council's cleansing depts, Highways etc as you need to rule it all out. It is very possible someone has just taken Molly in, or she is still out having an adventure. Any gypsies nearby? If so, I'd definitely go there - but never alone. Speak to the Dog Warden. Never give up hope - one day you will get that call. She knows you love her, keep talking to her in your mind - she will hear you - dogs are telepathic - fact! She'll always be your Molly Lollipop no matter where she is, and you will always be connected. Do that postering all over again - come on Molly Lolly, your family are waiting sweetie. x
lisa
Thanx scootjockey for ur support.it means a lot to us....Hi antheaB.the dogs home haven't exactly been legit with us with re: dogs found and rehomed.a lot goes off in there that we are finding out and its not good.there was an alleged rehoming of a dog that had been missing for months n months and was seen in the kennels then was rehomed after just a few hours to some other ppl.it took the proper owners 18 mnths to get it back.it goes on up there quite a lot...markLast edited: 2011-06-11 21:03:27 by lisa
AntheaB
Mark - if Molly was/is at the dog pound they have to wait 7 days. (admin - I'm right aren't I? so they couldn't hae rehomed her yet surely?). Sorry to get away from Molly on this thread, but is anyone also looking at trying to catch the other dog at Burslem park, the one that isn't mollie? x
scootjockey
Im soo so sorry been following this thread and geting dead excited you all worked so hard .lolliepop was in arms reach almost. Were gutted for you and your family and lolliepop.Come on little lass show your self !lets have you home now...best wishes greadyx
lisa
Bad news am afraid. The dog that has been sighted in burslem is not Molly....the dog that we thought was a positive sighting is in fact a white and black dog.Back to square 1.I'm going to have a look around hope street in hanley where there was a positive sighting of lollypop back in march. There's some waste ground that runs parallel to kwik fit and leads through shrubbery into cobridge.I personally think and am most certain that the dog that was seen at the dogs home was Molly and she has been rehomed. All we truly want is just to know she's safe and well. Will keep you informed...Thanks,Mark.Last edited: 2011-06-10 15:05:19 by lisa

A few of us had a good look round the park and near by areas last night,no sightings ourselves but a few people we spoke to said they had seen a dog fitting a similar description within the last few days,we did find an area where it looked like an animal had pushed its way under some sheltered bush's so we put some bedding down an loads of food, the food i put down the other night had all gone so i put some more there too,a friend is going to check on it all this mornin to see if anything has been disturbed,x.

I have a good feeling about this xx

Hi the dog was shaggy looking it's tail and back end looked dirty ,sort of a yellowy colouring to it.I think it had small pointy ears.
lisa
Hi sjp,the dog that followed you,did it have long legs and pointed ears looking very dirty? x.
lisa
Hi.definitely sounds like our lollypop.a few of us are going ip to burslem park tonite.Molly has a Facebook page set up.we are getting very close to bringing our lil girl home now....mark.
AntheaB
I don't see Molly listed on anywhere else. Have the owners tried putting her details up on all dog lost sites and put her in preloved, gumtree, etc? Make her a quick Facebook page and we'll all friend her, that way more people will be looking out for her.
Feebee
Hi I went out for a walk near the park today and was followed home by a WHITE and black collie wearing a black harness, I don't know if this is the one people have seen but it definitely wasn't Molly. I got it into my garden to ring the dog warden but it jumped my wall. This dog was mainly white with black and longer haired than Molly.
lisa
Hi sjp, thank you for helping us,we firmly believe that this is molly and she's probably hiding out in the park somewhere,if it is washing line i just pray to god that she doesn't get stuck somewhere an hurt herself,we'll go up again tonight to have another look,x.
Feebee
I spent an hour in Burslem park today and spoke to the groundsmen, they said they saw a black and white collie last week trailing what looked to be a piece of washing line behind it. I'll pop down again tomorrow morning

Hi Lisa and Mark, We live just up the road from Burslem Park. I'll take a walk down there today and see if I can have a word with the park workmen. If you need any help let me know!
lisa
there's been a dog fitting molly's description sighted trotting into the park at burslem last night between 8pm an 8.30pm from hammond street (the main road),apparantly wearing part of a body harness, looking very dirty,me and some friends went up to have a look,i stopped a couple to ask if they'd seen anything, they said not last night but on tuesday/wednesday thay saw a dog, again fitting same description, walking around on moorland road wearing a full body harness (possibly blue),we'll keep searching the area an putting posters up,i put some food down near to where the dog was seen just incase,i'll be back with further news when i know more,x.
Gaynor
Hi Lisa, there is a vet's surgery on the main road at Abbey Hulton which virtually backs onto the area by the brook/canal. Must be worth specifically ensuring that they're aware of Molly possibly being in the area and asking them if they can put up a poster and keep asking their clients who will all be very local people to keep a look-out? Rogers Brock and Barker 01782 543000. It's in that row of shops which are really well-used by all the people on the Abbey Hulton estate. I know you're not too familiar with the area, but this is all within a mile or so (certainly less than 2) of Baddeley Green from where she first went missing.
lisa
I will going up after work tonite n Friday night, but will be going up Monday during the day and would really appreciate some help please guys.need some helpers to go along the brook from sneyd green towards abbey hulton while others start from abbey hulton and head towards sneyd green.any help at all would be very much appreciated...thanx,mark.

The brook at Abbey Hulton runs along near to where she was last seen at Ralph Drive (have a look on google earth). I can't print any posters at the moment but if anybody else can I can help putting them up!!

Bumped due to sighting. Any helpers available to help owners poster that area? More posters, more people watching. So hope it is her.

there's been a possible sightin of molly at abbey hulton, apparantly thought to be takin shelter near the brooke, not sure where this is at the mo coz someone else took the call but as soon as i know more i will let everyone know,if this is her,it seems like she's stayin within that area which could make it easier to find her,x.

Anything else about the sighting at Chell? I'll try to get down to sneyd green later on today. I still carry my Molly pack in the car everywhere we go ! Dog lead, biscuits and posters !!
Gaynor
Hi Lisa, this is Gaynor. I haven't forgotten Molly for a second and keep logging on to see if there's any news. I've also seen the ad in the Sentinel today and if that doesn't grab attention nothing will! Interesting to hear that there's a possible sighting in Ralph Drive (there's no Ralph Steet as far as I know). I know you're not very familiar with the area, but Ralph Drive in Sneyd Green is not too far at all from where I saw Molly in Hanley, and is also directly on the route back from there to Baddeley Green where she vanished from. It's on the big estate which runs parallel to the main Leek Road that she must have travelled along to reach Hanley when she first ran off. I would think well worth following this up. Good Luck.

I hope this is Molly xx

Well well well, what can I say...spoken to the sentinel newsdesk and they took the story and actually commented on how fishy it all seemed with regards Mollys plight, but guess what?they're not printing the story considering that they want lost dog stories.what we we need is loads of people who are supporting us in getting lollypop home to inundate the sentinel with how to get the article published.I've checked the dog wardens site, and they haven't updated the photos of the dog and bitch...they are still the same dog!we are running out of ideas and we need a miracle now.we're not going to give up on the lil 1,we just don't know what to do anymore. If somebody who has Molly is reading this, please bring her home.we miss her desparately...mark.
angi
Just wanted to say still thinking of you and Molly. I'm sure your determination will bring results. You may have done this already but maybe an advert with picture and reward might bring fresh info. Xx.
Doglover
I've just seen that too sjp! Weird! Even if they were both female or male they have the SAME picture for both 'found' dogs and it says they were found in different areas on different dates. If the picture is the one relating to the 'dog' then would definitely be worth chasing to see the 'female' photo asap!
Feebee
Have you seen the stoke dog warden found dog page, they've got a picture of the same black and white dog twice- it's a bitch and a dog!!!! Says it all really doesn't it. I did ring them this morning and they said they would correct it we'll wait and see eh!
lisa
I have just spoken to the sentinel newsdesk and reiterated everything that's happened about Molly.they seem to think that something fishy and underhand has gone off.hopefully they will do an article on lollypop and that may prick someone's conscience.somebody knows where the little one is but they're not telling.we know Mollys alive as we have had 3 positive sightings, but its been a couple of weeks in between.you are right in saying that if lollypop was hurt we would definitely know by now.the plot thickens....mark.Last edited: 2011-04-27 15:44:39 by lisa
Doglover
It really does sound as though she is with somebody. If she was hurt I am sure someone would have come across her by now and with there being no sightings it just leaves the possibility she is living elsewhere. As you say, it is only a matter of time that she gets scanned for some reason and hey presto! Keep looking, don't give up (I know you won't anyway). I feel that she will turn up. Have you tried asking the local schools to add her on to their weekly/monthly newsletter? x
lisa
Hi doglover.we went up on Saturday 23rd of April.the only b/w x breed was the whippet x.we firmly do believe that somebody has Molly.just a case of never giving up hope and to carry on looking until we can bring her home.its just a matter of time.
Deb4gsd
Hi, just wondered if the dog you had seen at the dog's home was this same female mentioned on Alfie's site. Just says B/W crossbreed female found in Tunstall, taken in at City Dog's Home on the 19th April. Doesn't describe her as a whippet like the one you saw! worth checking it out just incase possibility of Molly!
http://www.alfieslostdogs.com/bb/index.php/topic,31675.msg74712.html#new
lisa
Been up to the dogs home today and there was a dog spitting image of lollypop apart from a white stripe down the centre of her face as opposed to half black/half white.same build, same markings, same tail, ears n nose.I had to look 3 times, and guess what...they had her down as a whippet!!!
Spindle
Dont give up she has to be out thee somewhere. Keep on going to the home to check.
lisa
Thanx sjp.really appreciate your help.got somebody to speak to the sentinel on our behalf as they don't seem to be interested.they was at 1st,so I don't know why they've changed their mind.we're gona keep on at them until they do something.going to try the dogs home Saturday.they know something and not letting on.its been nearly 2 months since lollypop went missing.what do we do now?ad we keep saying, all we want is Molly home.x
Feebee
checked Dogs home again today. Sorry no luck
Feebee
Hi we went the Dogs Home on Saturday - no luck! Everywhere we go we're looking for Molly. Have you spoken to the Dog warden recently, Animal lifeline etc.
lisa
Still no sign of lollypop.wish the person who's got her would just bring her home.waiting for the sentinel to still get back in touch to do an article on molly and hopefully with god willing,Molly will come home to where she belongs.trying the dogs home at the weekend.finding it difficult not knowing what to do next.Last edited: 2011-04-20 22:44:55 by lisa

Spoken to the sentinel about Molly missing and they said that they will TRY and assign a reporter to do an article about her possibly being rehomed.we need this so that whoever has lollypop can see that she already has a home.
lisa
Seems as tho the sighting of lollypop at abbey hulton was a positive sighting.somebody we no saw a spit of Molly at Milton, but it unfortunately it wasn't her.we need to find her.wish we knew where lollypop was.what if she's been hurt.we just want to know.please come home Molly,we miss you.xLast edited: 2011-04-14 20:21:41 by lisa

Rightly or wrongly I have emailed the paper saying how Mollys disappearance would be an interesting story especially due to the fact that she had allegedly been seen at the kennels then not there and also the fact that the doglost posts have been followed by people from all over the country (I live down in Bedfordshire). Time now to get this girl home!!

Lisa - the sentinel has done another article on Kenya coming home and at the bottom have asked for more stories of missing dogs - email newsdesk@thesentinel.co.uk; James.Truswell@Thesentinel.Co.Uk (reporter who wrote it) or call 01782 602545 which is the number for the newsroom. lots of people read the sentinel so it is a good way of getting exposure, especially if someone is looking after her.
B30
Advertised in The Countryman's Weekly magazine today. I hope it brings some news.
Spindle
Mark.Lisa, dont get despondent, doesnt mean she is not around just no joy that evening. Keep up all the postering, try the sentinel see if they will do article on her for you. Keep her profile high, someone, somewhere knows where she is.
lisa

Doglover
Good luck for this evening, let's get this girl back to her loving home x
lisa
Am going straight after work and should be there for 6.30ish.
Feebee
What time are you thinking of going? let me know and I'll see if me and other half can meet you there!
lisa
Hi sjp.Molly was seen on the big green by the crematorium at abbey hulton.Lisa has some details written down with regards to the road n street names.molly would be be very apprehensive if other dogs are around.best thing is to take some food with you and keep calling her Molly lollypop in soft tones.I will be going to there tonite with Toby,Mollys dad,and scouting round especially the woods.if anybody would like to help me with the search then I would grately appreciate it.I think she's laying low round there somewhere and somebody is feeding her....thanx,mark.Last edited: 2011-04-12 08:59:37 by lisa

Molly may be nervous if a strange dog appears but best to check with owners first. Praps taking a ball would be good idea, most collies are ball mad. Believe owners are going to the area as soon as they can with a dog familar to Molly. Need scenting down in case. Thank you all for helping owners like this.
Feebee
Did they tell you the road she was seen in as it's quite a big area!
Feebee
I'll try to get there this afternoon. Do you think she'd be more likely to come to me if I took my dog?
Teddys Mum - Area Volunteer, West London
So pleased you have had a sighting. I hope it brings something positive for you very soon.
jobadger
I wish I was nearer to be able to help practically Lisa. So pleased you've had a sighting - near to where she was lost? The postering is paying off. You're doing brilliantly. Jo xx
lisa
the dog was on its own,the person that phoned said it was the markings and the big ears that made it stand out, gemma kindly postered in that area and he saw the pictures,we're just following everything we can get,i'm sorry if it sometimes seems like a wild goose chase at the moment but we really do appreciate all the help we're getting from everyone,x.

bumping due to sighting.

Was she on her own or with some-one, do you really believe it's her?

There has been a positive sighting of lollypop at abbey Hulton, near baddeley green in stoke on Trent last weds/Thursday.Last edited: 2011-04-11 18:23:57 by lisa

Thanx for that dekkan.we did notice a lot of dogs had kennel cough at the dogs home and they had been moved around, even though we got told that they don't.will check the vets out.Thanx jobadger for ur support.it is hard.we don't know what to think anymore...I've heard that dogbaiting goes on in cobridge,so you can imagine what's going through our minds.we want lollypop home safe and sound.we know other ppl go through what we are and its very upsetting....we miss her terribly...mark.x.
jobadger
Keep going - I know it's hard but it just takes one person to see one poster and remember.........
Jo xx
dekkaann
Many rescue kennels have kennel cough ongoing,
very often a dog goes to a new home and starts coughing so the new owner takes it to the vet.
Keep checking the vets.
lisa
Rhanx doglover...yea beginning to think that somebody, somewhere has her.like I've said,if anything had happened to lollypop then surely we would know by now.we're not gona give up her....mark.
Doglover
She must be in somebody's care? The fact there has been no sightings. Like you say it will only be a matter of time before she is recognised..... keep going :-)
lisa
Hi Natalie.thanx for that.have just phoned the lady that took her in and with great disappointment, unfortunately its not lollypop.we feel that we're getting somewhere then we're let down.we will find lollypop.its just a matter of time.thanx again...mark.

As I said before, they must use a vet, find out who they are and talk to them.
Maybe if Molly has been homed local they might use the same vet.
The council would know or if not ring round.
lisa
Thanx doglover,so do we.it does seem abit strange..maybe this stranger was mistaken;but I dnt think so.some1 out there has got our beautiful molly;probably not having a clue what's going on.am getting really pissed off now..sorry bout my language, but somebody is taking the mickey!...mark.Last edited: 2011-04-07 19:40:37 by lisa

Can't help thinking that this is a case of 'dog handed in"....."dog available immediately for rehoming"........ "dog out and rehomed"....... quick money making and no need to layout financially for feeding! Anybody could "pretend" the dog had been there for 7 days. God I hope you find her.
lisa
Did you know that the dogs hm site hasn't been updated since 2008...funny that!!I know lollypop has been there.why would a complete stranger make it up??!!especially reiterating to myself after speaking to Lisa about Mollys behaviour and being bang on.he has never met her before!I want some answers and Molly back home, where she belongs!...mark.
Doglover
Might be worth reading the posts of recently reunites boxer cross called Kenya ID 9938. Missing for over 3 yrs and not sure if had been rehomed by the City Dogs Home you are talking about??? She was chipped and looks like this has brought her home - no real details if where she's been but there is mention of 2 other dogs that seem to have been rehomed then found - worth a read.
dekkaann
Just been reading a thread on petforums community site, it talks about the kennels in Bucknal and does not make good reading. The thread was started in 2008.
Pretty sure it is the same kennel by the attitude of the people working there.
Unknown
I was actually told about 4/5 years ago now about a rescue in the West Midlands that does this, so it is happening everywhere, I just feel so sorry for the owners both old and new, who are not aware that this happens. It really needs to be made aware of what goes on.
gready
Lisa your right to jump on, stick with it. You just get a feeling sommots a miss dont you. We owe it to our little pals to get to the bottom of it, the cant talk to tell you the tale. With all due respect the proprietors/owners of these kennels and indeed other trusted professionals that have any involvement with the safekeeping, reuniting or rehoming scare me to death, ive had a fear that this type of thing happens too often to be a geniune oversight/mistake.The very nature as parents to our missing little un`s makes you suspitious (i know sometimes its wrong to feel that way) As there may be someone running a holding place/kennel/ whom we d feel our little un`s were safe in their care!but ive yet to meet one. Thats my personal opinion conclusive of our experiences whilst trying to get Tay back.I dont know about you lisa but i feel theres one dog with two sets people possibly not wanting the same outcome; ...greed must take over the goodwill that iniated the business I hope this is your lollie pop coz if it is you must surely be given her bk as the proprietor dont seem to have sold mollie lolliepop to the current owner adhering to regulations stipulated in The kennels code of practice.Sorry to harp on but this scanning of chips, not notifiying the owners, scans that havnt detected a chip!!!is fowl play and methods and reports/logs and imformation of animals need improving it should be a requirement. The cloak and dagger attitude owner s accept shoulnt be, its the 21st century.Hd identical happen to us just last week.Hollies in Nantwiche. Good luck luv x

Is it worth contacting the council who licence
the kennels?
Also it may be worth finding out if they have a visiting vet who may be able to help.
I also wonder if they home check before letting a dog go.
Wishing Molly's mum and dad good luck, keep at them and eventually the truth will out.
Feebee
City Dogs Home is run by the same people who own foxtwood kennels http://sitebuilder.yell.com/sb/Displaycompany.do?p=contact&id=SB0003181578000030 Maybe if you start calling their boarding kennels some one will be cheesed off enough to actually look in to it!
lisa
I can't believe that the reception we got.1 was saying 1 thing which contradicted another.there's something not right.I feel as though Molly was there at some point in time,I mean she was seen 8th march in hanley by gaynor then a positive sighting on 1 st April....disappeared in between that period of time, but a collie x according to the kennels was taken in on march 9th then rehomed but the paperwork wasn't filled in!!!what's going on????somebody is full of b.s somewhere along the line and my suspicions lie with the home.I feel as though the ppl st the kennels don't know what the next person is doing....mark.
Feebee
Has anyone noticed that dog 28885 A Labrador Retriever was found at the same dogs home recently. He was microchipped but nobody notified the owner, someone on Doglost saw it on the Dog Warden Website and let the owner know. It looks like they're not scanning the stray dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Puddies
I agree with everyone's comments below, something very fishy going on. Kennels have to have a licence to operate etc, might be worth finding out who this particular kennels is licenced with and try making a complaint that way, might get more luck in getting the kennels to co- operate if this were mentioned to them, it's such a shame that you are having such trouble with them, most kennels do a fantastic job and are usually lovely helpful people.
Doglover
Deb4gsd is right, definitely something funny going on here. I bet they have rehomed her. If they had nothing to hide then why the rudeness? (a form of defence if you ask me!). Guilty conscience!?? Like mumstaxi says, is there anyone else you can contact to help get to the bottom of this. I would take this as far as I could.
Unknown
Did they not scan her then, as she is chipped, must of been in that much of a rush they couldn't be bothered or maybe the scanner was broken!!!
Deb4gsd
so sorry to read you are getting no help from the dogs home, and such a rude reception! why would they take this attitude with you if they weren't trying to hide something!! similar thing happened not so long ago with another Border Collie, rescue centre denying they had taken the dog in and actually had rehomed it before they should have done.....they lied through their teeth, but with persistence and help they got to the bottom of it and found out where the dog was! don't let go of this one, something funny is going on!!
mumstaxi
hi lisa in your hearts of hearts if you think this is molly lollypop keep going if the kennels are being unhelpful there is a reason why keep pursuing it if the kennels have made mistake its there responsibilty to put right good luck are there no other people you can contact about the kennels and staff xx
lisa
been to the kennels this mornin, got a lovely reception, not, very rude attitude from the owner and didn't want to answer any questions direct, looked in the kennels, saw nothing but when we looked through the paperwork which they didn't want to give us at first,we found a black an white collie x,female,black/white face mediun build which was rehomed on 9-3-11 and no homing details, when i said 'there was no homing details so the dog must still be here?' they couldn't answer but tried to fob it off as another which it definately wasn't,they kept calling us liers,we have the number to there area manager to comlain and we're going back to the papers, someone at the kennels knows somethin
Spindle
Molly is in the Sentinel again today. Bumping.
Unknown
I am a tad confused because in my mind I want to blame the Dogs Home but another part of me feels that he may have her and doesn't want to give her up. I beleive she wasn't picked up by the dog warden, so would have been handed in by a mamber of the public but as said he may have her and is just saying that she was in the Dogs Home. I so feel for you and where to go from here. Another add in the paper is great, fingers crossed for tomorrow. P.s. if he does have her I hope he sees sense and returns herLast edited: 2011-04-05 10:52:37
lisa
The fella that phoned Saturday with re Molly sighting has got back to me.I feel he doesn't want to get involved which is understandable.I know in my heart that its 90% believable, its just the other part relating to the dogs hm that doesn't make any sense at all......mark
Spindle
Gaynor, thanks for registering and posting. Hopefully this gentleman will assist the owners. Molly has to be somewhere, hope the Sentinel bring more news.
Gaynor
Lisa, hello, it's Gaynor (last person to actually see Molly in Hope Steet). Have just registered so that I can add my thoughts; have been checking regularly to see if there's any news on poor Molly. I'm really dismayed to read the latest happenings. My initial thought though was that it sounds really odd that this chap who phoned should have such excellent detail about her from just a viewing in the Dogs' Home and I'm just wondering if he's the one who's actually got her and is trying in some peculiar way to throw you off the scent. Perhaps he was describing her so well because he was looking at her. It just seems really strange, as reading back you visited the Dogs' Home on Wednesday and she wasn't there then, sjp visited Saturday and she wasn't there then, so she must have been in and out so quickly it doesn't make sense. Also, wouldn't the Dogs Home as a matter of course check the microchip? Have you got his phone number? as if he's genuine then surely he'll agree to meet you up at the Home and tackle them about it, pointing out exactly what cage she was in etc. By the way, as promised I wrote a letter to the Sentinel for inclusion on the Letters page, it's not been published yet but hopefully it will be.
Spindle
sjp - thanks for your support its is very appreciated.
Doglover
Those photos are excellent - my god I would know her instantly if I saw her with that black patch over her eye and her long white legs. Let's hope that one person sees it that will be the key xx
lisa
thank you to everyone for all your suggestions and help,it really means alot to me and mark,i've put another ad in the paper, roughly same as before but added 'believed to have been rehomed' and 'cash reward given',its due to go out wednesday, fingers crossed it might attract some attention.
Feebee
Hi I've been to 7 different Vets today and left posters I'll try and get some more done tomorrow
Spindle
If a dog is found it is a criminal offence if you dont report it to the relevant authorities. Hopefull the paper will bring more calls to get Molly back home.
Doglover
Even more reason if the paper could do a feature cos if someone had taken her in their home then subsequently took her to the dogs home then I'm sure they would come forward to tell you. How frustrating, it would do my head in too. I don't know what else to suggest? Could you ask the local schools to add a paragraph onto their newsletter that the kids take home each week - that would get around a lot of households? xx
lisa
i've been on the phone to the council, they have no reports that the warden has picked her up,they reckon someone has had her at there house and if she was taken in by that person for rehoming the kennels can do that asap, they don't have to wait 7 days coz she wouldn't be classed as a stray,it still seems odd that they say they have no records, still no more word from this man as back up either, its doing my head in now
Doglover
Sounds genuine to me (that the guy saw her)..... didn't they even explain they had another collie x that had been rehomed? Seems strange that they have just denied it completely. I wouldn't let this one rest, sounds like she was there and especially with her not being sighted for a few weeks. SJP is right, can you not get a feature done in the paper? I appreciate this 7 day policy due to space etc but it just doesn't seem enough time when you are searching for a dog and don't know where to start. 7 days goes so quick. Good luck x
Feebee
How about ringing the Sentinel and seeing if they will do a feature with you. The power of the press and all that.
Spindle
Kennels are really busy places. A reserve could mean the dog has not done its legal time or could mean someone has shown interest and a home check is being carried out. Given owner advice.
lisa
hi sjp,the bloke that saw her explained her to finest detail,he even told us which cage she was in,it was lunchtime friday, they had her out to see her properly but got told they couldn't take her coz of the reserve, dogs home was dead rude to me when i phoned yesterday an told me the man must of been lying
Feebee
Hi Lisa I went to the Dogs Home Saturday lunch time and didn't see her. But thats not to say she hasn't been there! If you get any sightings and can't get there immediately please ring me and I'll see what I can do.

Molly is in the Sentinel again today.
lisa
There was a positive sighting of Molly at bucknall city dogs home on Friday 1st April,Lisa had a phone call Saturday 2nd to clarify and determine that it was molly.the fella was precise in Mollys description and behavior which determined that it was genuine.trouble is I went up this Sunday and she wasn't there and they denied that she ever was.am confused.is it poss that they had her and sold on within their 7 day policy?we know by this strangers description of how this collie x reacted...loving and certain other things that only Molly would do.how would he know that if it wasn't her??!!

Hi, I hope you don't mind but I've put links on to Greyhound Gap as they are based locally and Dogsey. I also spent the morning in the woodland surrounding Festival Park and Etruria but no luck. Don't give up hope. Have you got any posters printed off that I could take to the industrial units in the area- My printers not working. I also saw on another Lost Dog website that the Dogs Home has had a lot of strays in have you checked recently? I can pop up there tomorrow if you can't get there.
lisa
just been speaking to the lady who saw molly at hope street hanley,by all accounts it sounds like she may not be wearing a coller,if so it might make her more difficult to catch
Spindle
Looks like false alarms but last definate sighting was 8th March Hope Street, Hanley around 4.15. she has to be somewhere
Doglover
Please don't blame yourself.... dogs are little minx's sometimes - it doesn't take much for them to be out your sight. My neighbour lost her dog in the woods last year and 5 weeks later she turned up dirty and smelly but looked at my neighbour as if to sat "whats up!?"..... she won't be thinking "I've got to get back". Please be positive, it's only a matter of time when u will find her..... with her being shy she's just not going to be where people are so just may take a little longer. I wish I was closer to help you. Are there woods near you? She may be in there? Don't give up, look at Eva! I'm thinking about you both xx

Hi,this is Lisa's husband mark...I just get a bad feeling in my stomach.I can't help how I feel.I feel responsible.I'm scared of how I feel.its as though she's vanished.

lisa, OK so this is a setback. Dont give up on her, We still dont know where she is. Be postitive, phone me in the morning will think of Plan B.

The sighting in both burslem and bagnall were both false alarms.I fear that something bad has happened to lollypop. If it wasn't for me and my stupidity she would still be at home with us now.my hearts broken and so is my spirit.I'm so so sorry lollypop...dad.xLast edited: 2011-03-29 21:38:22 by lisa

Please dont be disheartened. Collies are so clever and know how to look after themselves. It is quite usual for them to do the triangle circuit. Try and get times for the sightings and you may well be able to "be there" ahead of her arrival. If you see her, lay down and whimpher, she will approach. Have some food ready in your hand. Good luck.
lisa
Hi sjp.Molly was seen Friday night in burslem at the old churchyard, then in bagnall Saturday morning.she seems to be going in a triangle.Molly has been sighted in euturia, hanley, kidsgrove, burslem n the latest was sat morning in bagnall.if you know folk round burslem, hanley, baddeley green please ask them to keep their eyes open and approach molly with caution n speak softly to her as she's very scared and confused.thanx,mark.Last edited: 2011-03-29 09:06:38 by lisa

Keep positive Lisa, these dogs can survive outside, look at foxes!, and I'm sure she will turn up soon. Keep the adverts really hot, poster everywhere, on every tree etc. Sending positive vibes to you, I feel your sadness through your posts :-( wish I was closer to help you xx
lisa
just had a phone call from a lovely lady who saw molly in the paper, she said she saw her on the 8th march at about 4.10 on hope street hanley, running in the road looking very confused, she tried to catch her but molly ran off on the road by tesco heading towards etruria where she was last seen also on the 8th.
lisa
Its been almost 3weeks since Molly went missing. We are getting desparate for her safe return.Wish that we knew where she was.Somebody must know. We're in pieces.

Lisa - i know exactly how you are feeling - call every vet within a 30 mile radius - there is a find any vet link at the top of this page, aldo contact local councils - if you are walking the area talk to everyone you meet - she must be around somewhere. I wish i wasnt so far away - if you let all the vets know if a bog comes in matching her description they will scan it.....wishing you good luck with your search
lisa
Would we know if she was hurt or worse?Would we be informed by a vet etc as Mollys chipped.Just worried that's all.

Do you want me to look in the Kidsgrove area, as i live in South Cheshire. It might be a good idea to inform the Cheshire East dog Warden just in case she has come across the South Cheshire border. Community Dog Warden

Sorry to see that MOLLY LOLLYPOP STILL MISSING is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (28604)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
