  • Other Info Jackson or "Jacko" has been a very much loved member of our family for a year now and my two boys are devastated. I would describe him as friendly and approachable but can't imagine what/how he is feeling about being away from home. His colours are black & tan, he is a short haired German Shepherd. He has a V-shaped nick in the top of his left ear. He loves other dogs, a little too much, which is what led him to go missing in the 1st place

Thank you Riverlady, I have reported him with Hounslow/Chiswick dog wardens and have a ref number.

Check with Hounslow/chiswick Dog warden just in case he has followed the river.......lots of scents to follow.

Nicola he is chipped, if he is pick up by dog warden or other organisation should check for chips, sometimes the chip may have moved. Then if someone has him and go to the vet they have to do the same. As long has you have been actively looking for him and been in-touch with the chip company then if he is re-homed and you do find out along the line then you can get your dog back. Is he insured if so the insurance company will pay for advertising in getting him back. You have done a lot to prove you are looking for your dog so do not worry if he gets re-homed and you find out YOU WILL GET YOUR DOG BACK. Keep up the postering also go out of the area to other counties because not all dog wardens talk to one another informing of a dog found like your boy. GSD do travel and have been know to stay out for a long time do not give up keep up the posters and keep him in the eye or all that you have informed. If he is still entire find out if there is a bitch in your area who is in season, dog will travel miles for a bitch. So you must go out of your area to put out the word. Thank you all very much for your comments and help! We have reported his loss with Battersea,Fulham & Hammersmith police stations, The Parks Constabulary(who look after all local parks/cemetery's), S D K (who have replaced dog wardens in our area), Petlog(which is where he was chipped),The Mayhew Animal Home, we are still in the process of informing all vets in our area, we are also still in the process of displaying posters and informing all local dog walkers, neighbours, shops, etc. I have also posted a link on Facebook. I am concerned that a few people have mentioned that he could be re-homed legally after 7 days, IS THIS TRUE EVEN THOUGH HE IS CHIPPED AND HAS BEEN REPORTED MISSING?? Thanks again for all the help & tips.

I live in the other side of W6 (by Town Hall) and am always out with my dog in Furnivall Gardens, along river, Ravenscourt Park, in Shepherds Bush etc.I'll put the word out to other dog walkers,(esp info about the nick on his ear - so even if we see anyone fishy with a GSD it's easy enough to check.) Unfortunately my printer's broken, so I can't print posters, but I will take to carrying a spare lead in case I see him and hopefully we'll have him home to you in no time.

Poster e mailed to helpers in W3,4,6,8,10,11,12.

Just looked at the map, dogs love to hide in cemetery's, you could check there. He is cute, hope you find him soon.

Have you checked with Battersea and your local vets to see if he's been handed in? Also leave an item of clothing with your scent on it in the park as he could well make his way back to where he last saw you. Hope he's home soon xx
