Hi, I'm new to all this - have you looked at 38289 dog found on this site? I know the distance is quite something - but I read "the incredible journey!!". I've looked closely at the markings but the camera angle is different.

Have the Dog Wardens kept to their word and done what they said they would do? for you have you asked if and when if not? I would keep going until they did what they promised as like I said it is now a very long time to have not even had one sighting I think this is very strange not like Shadow is a small dog is it?

I am still looking out and spreading the word

Hope there is news from the D/Wardens very soon

Thank you to everyone who keeps looking for shadow and passing me links of possible findings. I have emailed Battersea dogs home. But I don't think its shadow as they would have scanned for a chip and seen tattoo in her ear. BUT u never know.

There is a GSD called Sasha on the Battersea website - looks very simlar to Shadow. Worth a look. Hope you find your gorgeous girl soon. Julie x

Know it's a long shot but there is currently a beautiful GS in our local dog rescue centre. It's difficult to tell but they have 5/6 photographs of a GS female called Maddie. The centre is called MADSODS - it's located just on the outskirts of Derby (I know it's a long way from your home but perhaps worth a look). There is a german shepherd female on the dogs trust website at shoreham. Her name is Kala and says she is between 2 and 5 yrs old. I am not too sure if the markings match exactly but worth taking a look.

Hi Keirsten, it may be worth taking a drive to Hammerpond Kennels just to double check for your own piece of mind - especially as the dog looks like Shadow. It might be perfectly cosha - but it to me seems a bit odd that a big dog like this would have an elderly owner? I really do hope that you have some positive news soon. Julie x

Keirsten, is Shadow not TATTOOED, that should easily eliminate any found GSD. I've owned GSD's for over 30 years and know how loyal they are, I also have all my dogs TATTOOED. Good luck. Jan x

I have contacted the Hammerpond Kenels and this dog was given to them by a family after the elderly owner had died. However they have assured me that they will scan to insure that the micro chip number is not the same as our shadows as she is the spitting image of shadow. Thanks to everyone for the continued seching and support.

Are there any travellers in the village ? Has she been advertised as missing in the paper at all - only I havent seen any advert for her in the West Sussex County Times? This would bring her to a lot of peoples attention that she is missing. Could just be the thing you need to do to bring her home. I do hope that you find Shadow soon. Julie x

Well I have now spoken at length to Shadows mum and it woud seem she was possibly stolen she has done all the right things informing people as she is desperate to get her back.

Some of the posters that have been put up have mysteriously disappeared Hmmm

We are now hoping some of the D/Lost team can come up with any ideas to help us in finding Shadow

Keep looking in on the girl not to have any sightings is unusual, just make sure you are on to the local Council for the road clearing I hate to say this but they do not always report animals pick up chip or not.

I have put posters on the main information boards in Petworth this evening.

I have only just seen this one as it is only approximately 6 miles from Petworth where this one has gone missing from and I have not seen one poster around that area (is there a reason for this no posters?)if not then I willing to do some and put on the notice board on Friday when I go through Petworth

Did you manage to get an advert in todays west sussex county times - only I have had a look through and couldnt see anything ? Just a thought - are there any travellers over near where you live ? Maybe you could put some posters up in the pubs in Wisborough Green as they probably get used by a fair amount of locals. I hope that you have some good news of Shadow very soon. Stay safe Shadow. Dogs can be out for a long time and find food from where ever so please do not give up hope all it takes is one sighting. Just make sure you are posting posters further afield they do travel and you would be surprised how far. Also would be good to look in places you use to walk with her and places she would recognize smells. And outside your property put something with your smell on.

Have alerted all neighbours and asked them to check out buildings etc. Still not 1 sighting of her. Will be onto local taxi companies today.. I really am beginning to think she has been stolen as surely someone would have seen her if she was around, also her stomach would have got the better of her and she would be trying to find food??? It could be that she's "holed up" somewhere quiet if she's scared and only venturing out when it's quiet - i.e at night or in the early hours (this is very common). Could she be hiding out in the woods/fields you mentioned? If you haven't done so already, ask local taxi companies to look out for her as they are out and about at all hours.

Just wondering if she could have got shut in somewhere- like a neighbours garden or shed or something. Do you have any neighbours who are away at the moment? Perhaps you could put a few posters through local letterboxes asking people to check their gardens, etc. Would she bark if she'd got locked in do you think?

A week tomorrow and still no sign or sightings of Shadow. We are very worried and just can not understand why there are no leads. How can a large dog just disappear into thin air?. We are thinking about posters offering a financial reward for her safe return. Plastering them over the local area. Also going to put ad in local papers. :-( Please keep looking for shadow. I am sorry that Shadow is missing. It would be a good idea to put an advert in the West Sussex County Times - unfortunately, it wouldnt be out again now until next Thursday (and hopefully she will be safely home by then) - but if not it will bring her missing to a lot of peoples attention. The advert would need to be with the paper by Tuesday to be in the next edition. Lots of posters in the village shops, around the village green, bus shelters and postboxes would be good as this would get lots of peoples attention. I dont really know Wisborough Green very well, but am guessing that there are lots of farms around - maybe if you could go round and let the farms know she is missing as she maybe hiding out there somewhere. I do hope that you have some news or sightings soon. Stay safe Shadow gorgeous girl. Julie x

Incase this is what's happened to her you need to make her the hottest dog around! Posters need to be displayed EVERYWHERE and HUNDREDS of them. Watch out for any that mysteriously disappear too- that could hold the key. A good place to start would be car boot sales and supermarket carparks (might need to check with them first though).

Still no sign of Shadow, I have spent hours again today walking the fields and woods locally. No sign. A friend of mine has a trained sniffer dog that he is kindly bringing over tomorrow and we are going to try and track her down that way. Fingers crossed. My worry is that there have been no sightings of her. Surely someone should have seen her by now? Lets hope tomorrow brings some news. Thank you to everyone for their help and support.

Are you able to leave a gate or door open overnight incase she turns up of her own accord (it has been known to happen!!) Perhaps leave her bed out for her and an item of clothing with your scent on. Also poster, poster, poster literally everywhere. Hope she's home soon xx

Check with all your neighbours just in case she got lock in anywhere if she did run after something a cat or what ever she may well have followed them into a garage shed anywhere that was open and got lock in. fingers crossed she is with you soon.

So sorry to read Shadow is missing. I run the dog school in Cranleigh and known in the area for owning GSD,
I have notified all my clients and will get poster put in Pets Pantry, I have been in touch with people from Ewhurst, Ellens Green and surrounding area, I hope Shadow turns up safe and sound very soon

she is micro chipped . she has a check chain with a red disc with our address and telephone number also the vets details. I am beginning to wonder if someone has taken her as she is a friendly and beautiful dog

She went missing yesterday at about 10am from our garden in wisborough green. Its like she vanished into thin air. She was playing beside me and then she was gone. Off to dive the roads around area and put posters up.

Are your chip details all current? A stray gsd was collected from edmonton north London today but i dont know if she is chipped. She was wearing a very rusty choke chain. They will scan her.

• Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
