- Ive bumped Aurelio as I hear he is doing well in his new home, and also to say a Huge thankyou to Greyhounds in Need for a wonderful donation. XX

- Aurelia is looking much better, and loving his new owners, Jackie and Norman, who are really spoiling him, and love him so much. Gets on with the other dogs, cats and hens, and loves "hooves" to chomp on when I visit him. I hope all other rescued Galgos get such a lovely home as Aurelia.
- 2010-11-27 20:24 wrinkles
- So far, so good. Aurelia loves his new home, and new doggie friends, and especially his new owners. He has indeed had such an traumatic life so far, and can now relax warm, full and relaxed. He doesnt even want to go out except for a quick wee etc then dashes straight back on to Jackies bed. I hope all the others have a happy end like Aurelia.

- thanks for the call this morning doglover to tell me the great news! So pleased this lovely boy was rounded up by the kind lady and his new owners have now got him at home, albeit a week or so later than anticipated. If anyone is calling at any of the service areas north and southbound on M5 Gordano to Exeter would they mind letting the duty managers know this chap is home safe and ask them to take the poster down please? Have a very happy life Aurelio.x.

Jackie & her husband are on their way upto Somerset to extract him from garage (fingers crossed here) and take him to his new home. So exciting & lovely news-all the best today!

- Cant helping feeling sad about Aurelia and all the other poor lost dogs in this cold weather, when I am snuggled up in bed with a fat Basset, and 2 Shar-pei one of which, Ruby, is trying to pretend she is not quietly sneaking under duvet !Hurry home Aurelia, a lovely warm house waits for you, and two lovely new owners.
- 2010-11-23 19:13 Hominglady
- He was indeed a poor little boy when he first arrived in the UK but look at the difference after 6 months in quarantine. He will be so much loved when he arrives in Cornwall with his new owners - they are a lovely couple. Huge thanks to all who are helping.

- jackiemac-hi, no im not the owner, but he is a beautiful boy. yes i saw jacqueline on the site-a real cutie. i have a tiny 13 yr old jrt but not from many tears, hopefully aurelio will be safe soon.
- 2010-11-23 18:34 JackieMac
- Hi dewilliams42. We chose a little Cairn Terrier called Jacqueline (Jac) to her friends. A little cutie and a perfect companion for our other little terrier. Are you Aurelio's new. If yes, where abouts in Cornwall are you. We live in Cornwall too? Have everything crossed for Aurelio being back with you soon. And doesn't he look well compared to that poor skinny scrap on the internet!
- 2010-11-23 17:05 spotty
- Fantastic news. Everything seems to be coming together now; just need to get that garage door shut with him on the right side of it!

- 2010-11-23 10:49 ML
- Great news. Hope he is caught very soon. xxx
- 2010-11-23 10:14 JackieMac
- Hi had to post. I saw this dog on the internet when it was up for adoption and thought it was gorgeous, but unfortunately too big for our little home. On our way home from Wales on Saturday having picked up a rescue dog from Many Tears and saw the notices posted in Services. Absolutely thrilled it looks like he will be home soon. Good luck Aurelio in your new home!

- spoken with owners who are back in Cornwall today. The lady who has been feeding Aurelio has been leaving bededing down and food in her garage and he is coming and going on a regular basis which is fantastic!!The DW is going to set up a trap covered in blankets with food inside in the next few days. He is looking confident as whenthe owners saw him yesterday after being alerted to the Little chef, he sauntered out in front of their car without a care in the world. I have explained not to rush this dog. He has got to be caought but it might take a few days.Nicky head office will give you my mobile, please can you call me
- 2010-11-23 09:11 Mollychops
- Thanks Nicky C Im sure the owners would realy appreciate some help. Ive tried ringing for an update, but no reply on mobile. I will try again before I go to work

- I am sooo relieved to see this boy has been seen and is being fed, he must be really frightened. Perserverance will pay off and well done the fantastic lady who is keeping him within a small area. Come on Aurelio, time to go to your new home in the warm.

- Not wanting to jinx anything, but I think it is looking hopeful.A lovely lady has been feeding him and is going to try and entice him into garage with food and blankets. My friends saw him twice this afternoon when they went up there. He came close to their car then took off again. I think I will give them some hooves cheweys to take. My dogs love them, and if he actually settled down in garage to chew one it may help relax him. Just a thought !
- 2010-11-22 16:55 doglover1
- So pleased this lovely boy has been sighted, come on Aurelio give yourself up, willing you home safe. x

- The owners of Aurelia have asked me to express their thanks to everyone who has been helping in looking for Aurelia, and for everyones kind wishes and support. I have my fingers crossed they manage to catch him. I know he will have the most fantastic home with them. As they have no internet connection, I am acting as go-between in passing messages on.
- 2010-11-22 16:11 Hominglady
- Someone suggested to me that if anyone in the area could get hold of some tripe it might just tempt him into the trap with it's strong smell and they do love the taste. Thanks to everyone who is helping to get this lovely boy back to safety.

- It's always worth checking any found dogs (white/brindle lurchers or even "greyhounds" though as some people aren't sure of a dog's breed when they post)I now am obsessed and can't go anywhere without mentioning him to fellow dog-walkers or googling "found dog south west" every time I come online! Another thing is also dogs can be found some distance from where they were originally lost...

- Yesterday, 18/11/10 I drove down to Somerset where there had been sightings of Aurelio the Thursday 2 days before. I met up with Sylvia who was confident she'd seen him in woods two whilst on dog walk. We retraced her walk & put up posters on gates, trees & shops in the locality.
Mollychops has contacted hunts & animal shelters alerting them to his predicament. I got phone numbers of local authorities - glued to window of locked up police station in street Glastonbury.
Sylvia was amazingly helpful, kind & knowledgeable of the local area, I took Oony; Spanish galgo with us in case we caught sight of dear Aurelio. Sylvia had her super companion; Misty and we covered a wide area.
Sadly, there was no sign of Aurelio and it's possible that he's moved on. Any sighting - no matter how hestitant, please post them.
He needs us all right now. - 2010-11-21 15:50 Spottylove
- Hi all, I have just seen on facebook a page called Lost Dogs UK, when I saw this;
Lost Dogs UK FOUND - Arborfield, RG2? 19th Nov. Lurcher entire male. White with brindle. Aged between 2 and 6 yrs. Very dirty and smelly. Lots of small nicks and scars. About 22" high. No ID. http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/Animal_Rehoming_UK/message/6916
Any information please contact Mandy Dorman, Animal Warden, Wokingh...am Borough Council on 0118 974 6356. Probably a long shot as it says he's entire, but worth a try. Hope this gorgeous boy is found safe really soon.

- I stopped at Sedgemoor this morning and spoke to people in the car park. Also managed to grab two motorway patrol chaps who said they would keep their eyes open for him. There is quite a big expanse of grass behind the fuel station but I didn't see that until I was committed to going back out on the motorway so couldn't look there. Do hope he turns up soon.

- Aurelio's details could also be put on alfieslostdogs.com, (free, and a good photo gallery)if someone could maybe do that? I'd be happy to do that but there's a lot of info about Aurelio that I don't know (there's quite a long form to fill in on alfie's)Last edited: 2010-11-21 01:27:01 by Sylvia

- Spotty & I went to the woods today and had a good look for him for 3 hours. But no sign unfortunately. It seems he's moved on. I'm putting posters over the area and when I get some more posters, will put some more up. I just spoke to the owner on the phone today and she would like to thank everyone for their kindness and eagerness to help. Where she lives she can't get broadband so can't get to the website.

- Saw a dog today 4pm Thurs 18th November, very like this description! In GREAT BREACH WOOD between Somerton and Butleigh Somerset (exact grid reference of the sighting 51-04-42.93N 2-42-06.70W) The dog was obviously lost, tail between its legs running and looked very tired, but OK. I called and whistled it, was going to check the tag on its collar& telephone owners immediately. But though it ran up to me it was scared and took off again running down the field and back into the Woods.
Obviously have no definite idea if this was Aurelio or not. Looked very much like him. There is water in a stream here, and there are rabbits and pheasants if he could catch one. So his survival chances would be good here. If anyone wishes to contact me please do so via : silvia.groves@tiscali.co.uk - 2010-11-18 17:51 Thorrocks0
- Was this the northbound or southbound side (there are 2 almost opposite). The Weston and Banwell Harriers kennel is quite near there so perhaps let them know and also Whitehouse Kennels is nearby as well. They take in strays for the North Somerset dog wardens I believe. Sanders Garden World ought to have a poster as that is near. I will post one in Mole Valley Farmers in Bridgwater and the Quantock Veterinary centre. Am going to Taunton Deane Services on Sunday to do a collection for Many Tears Animal Rescue so will also take a poster with me then. A dalmation went missing from a house just behind there in September and was found hiding in the fields nearby. It had been scared by fireworks. I think I would be inclined to give fliers to the local farms as it is a quite rural area.
I will be free Tuesday onwards if you still have not found him and want help searching. My contact details are on lost dog 23333. - 2010-11-18 16:40 doglover1
