No news of Pip at all this summer although the local dog warden knows a dog disappeared about 15 miles from here under similar circumstances to Pip, he believes both were stolen instantly as both disappeared into thin air. Having recently lost our only remaining pet, a rabbit, to old age we felt very deprived of animal company. hence we aquired a black lab puppy two months ago as we couldnt stand the loss any longer. he, Max, is adorable of course and amazingly enough his grandfather was Pip's father and on another side his great grandfather was our old dog's(who died last year) father, just amazing as we see so much of both dogs in him. We hope very much Pip will come home one day and still check every lab dog we see. There is still a home waiting for him here, we miss him and wonder each day where he is. Like you say - probably cosy with a family and not realising the fuss he's caused. One day he'll be taken to the vets and BINGO his chip will show. That's if the vets do as we are asking and scan all new dogs. I just feel he'll come back to you but it's taking a long time. - ValLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No recent news of Pip i'm afraid. The two dogs in Licolnshire were bitches as you say and were just been housed temporarily at a Kennels. Have now gone to the police. The lady i spoke to at the Kennels was sure they were part of same family. Never mind it could be Pip one day. We are sure such a beautiful dog has his feet round someone's warm fire! Any news on Pip? I'm also searching for my black lab George (4.03.05), and i know what you're going thru (well most of us on here do unfortunately), have you contacted the sporting/shooting dog sites, would be well worth putting Pips picture up in case someone is offerred him as a gun dog. Good luck, Caroline x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I take it there's been no more news? We're still thinking of you and Pip. I really believe he'll be back with you - chances are so much higher when a dog is chipped. Best Wishes - ValLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks to Val and everyone for concern. We were called out to see a dog this week but alas it was not Pip but at least we know the poster campaign is still working! Wish no one else has to go through this, the worst is the not knowing but we live in hope that he may run away from whoever has him and get into honest hands. its so lovely to know so many people care, thankyou. this is pips mum who is also emily's mum so we all wait for him to come home wondering what all the fuss is about!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi - I've just spoken to Pip's owners and unfortunately they cannot attend the Game Fair. I said I'd put a posting on here to ask if any helpers are attending or know anyone who is would they please look out for Pip and maybe take a poster with them. Thank You - ValLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is a GAME FAIR at Selby (Carlton Towers, Carlton, Nr Selby Yorkshire DN14 9LZ, Jct 36 off M62 or 2 miles south of Selby). This weekend. I've tried to ring to let you know. I'm not going but this would be a good event to publicise PiP at. Check out selbygamefair.co.uk for a contact number/e-mail. I've also double checked with York dogwarden and the York RSPCA about Pip, that they still have details and are still looking out for him - ValLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I keep checking to see if Pip has come home yet. I hope he soon comes home, because I know how I would feel if my black Lab went missing. I will still keep my ears and eyes open.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is still no sighting of pip, he is still lost, however about 1month ago there was a couple who aparently picked up a dog of pips build and age, about 2 miles north of where he was lost, so this could be a good lead althought they said to a keeper they were going to take him to a rescue centre in york, however no one has received him, so at the moment we think he is in the York area, so it would be great if a dog trainer in York would be able to look out for him, thank you very much for your concern and kind jesture. Just to let you know that I am part of a dog training group in the North Yorkshire, we all keep in contact via email as a group and I have passed your information on to everyone in the group. Keep your hopes up, I know how I would feel if my best friend went missing. Hope you find Pip very soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
