So pleased that Slugsy has been reunited again. Perhaps the aggression was caused by how he was treated after being stolen? At least he has been found, and his rehoming is legit: not theft. Sorry to hear about your illness too. Sending you healing thoughts, and my prayers too. God blessx Stay safe now Slugsy:-)xxx

email from Slugsley owner...
Hi sorry for this but I got slugsy back shortly after I posted last on your site and until now I completely forgot I had him on your site. We found a lad with him and when he was approached and I was about to call the police he dropped lead and legged it. Sadly due to my illness worsening I did re home him (which was a hard thing for me to do) he also wasn't the same dog when I got him back, he was quiet scared and growled at my little girl a lot, I could no longer trust him. I have spoken to dulwich vets and also checked kennel club and chip company and found out he is still in my details. So have emailed vets today and asked if they can pass my details onto owners so I can have this sorted. Regards jackie

Turns out details hadn't been updated on Doglost or microchip details which still had dog incorrectly shown as stolen. He has been with new owners for sometime having been rehomed.Last edited: 2013-05-15 16:06:11 by Fran Daly

Far more details surrounding Slugsy being taken are shown on the National Pet Register. I've sent a message to Jackie on here just in case it gives different contact details to those contained here.

Hi. I am the Croydon Dog Warden and I don't recall getting a report of a missing Sharpei. Can you please call 0208 726 6000 and give as many details as possible please so I have it all on file. Thanks and I'm sorry to hear Slugsy is still missing.
Jackie
I have notified the kennel club and they have put a stop on anyone changing his details and will notify me. I have also let identichip know. I did go to the police to report him missing at the time but they just said we dont deal with missing animals and that was that. I have been ill and had lots of doctors and hospital appointments so up until now have not had time to spend on finding him, i did put up posters on lampposts and in local shops. I am now in a better position to do this and want to do as much as i can.

Hi, I’m sorry to hear Slugsy is missing. Someone will try to make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. Please email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo of your dog quoting the dog’s Doglost ID number, or upload a photo yourself on “update details” above. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days if it has no identification (microchip or ID disk attached), so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.
