Just back from returning a tired and bemused Darcy to her extremely relieved and emotional owners. She was found lying in the ditch close to the lay-by where she was sighted yesterday. The gentleman who found her was walking to the equestrian centre with his young son as by a stoke of luck his girlfriend had taken the car with the child seat. As his son walked along the edge of the ditch he spotted the flash of red from Darcy's collar so went closer to investigate. He had seen the posters that Amanda took out yesterday so took Darcy to the equestrian centre and put her in a stable and phoned us. She seems to be physically unhurt but is very tired and upset. Her owners and all the neighbours who have been out searching are delighted to have her back safely and she will not be out in the garden off lead again until all the new fencing has been completed. Thanks for all the help DL Rachel

BRILLIANT NEWS, Darcy has been found. Thanks Marilyn for the alert, just spoken to PFK and they will update a.s.a.p. Have pleasure in moving her into the Blue. Well done and thank you to everyone who has helped in the search, especially to her finder. Posters did the trick once again. she has been sighted in the road by the layby where I parked this morning midway along Witcham road but ran off down the drove. Neighbours are walking the drove and fields after her now.

So hoping there are some sightings of Darcy very soon.

I called in on the owners this morning who are very upset, I left them with a few posters to put up on local notice boards and suggested they keep leaving food out and the back gate open. Darcy was not nervous with them and slept on their bed that night so it is possible she will find her way back. She is not yet 4 years old and had pups about 6 weeks ago so she wont have got her figure back yet but she has no milk. I spent a couple of hours walking with two dogs behind the house, the top of the cornfield is protected by a Rabbit fence making an excurtion in that direction (south) unlikely. I also did the drove down to the river but no sign of her or other walkers but the paths are obviously well used. We will do some outside posters and get them up on gateways and poles so that the walkers know of her. Fenland DC and the postie have been informed but it might be good to get the local kids involved. There is a playing field opposite the estate and a lot of new housing. The owners are frail, elderly and disabled and I suggested they should make no secret of that and phone anyone they can think of to get the word out.

Thanks for posters, have forwarded on. Everything crossed that she will be found safe and well very soon.

Still no news on little Darcy yet but the response for postering is fantastic, Dave at PFK, as usual, is doing an amazing job. There are lots of people out searching, postering and getting her well known. Stay safe little girl until somebody finds you.

Thanks Jan. All help with postering in the area would be gratefully received. She is, as Marjoret said, new to the area and nervous, having escaped from her new home within 24 hours.

Darcy is a salt and pepper female miniature Schnauzer who has recently had a litter of pups. She only went to her new owners yesterday but in spite of new fencing in their garden Darcy found a small hole and escaped at 10am this morning into the corn field at the back of the house. She does not know the area or anyone locally. all agencies have been informed (or will be). Jan x
