Hi There
I felt that I had to say the I really do feel for you. I know just what it's like. My male Yorkshire Terrier has been missing since May 2010, having sneaked out of front door whilst slightly ajar at our house Nr Newmarket, Suffolk. I have put up endless posters, placed ads in newspapers, been on local radio. I really don't know what else that I can do, but like yourself, "I am Not Giving Up" I feel sure that he is out there somewhere and keep hoping that maybe one day I will be reunited with him.
Keep Up The Good Work. xxx

Had call from Last Chance friend to say dog was found nr Chatterton Road. Phoned Marmite owner but she's already been in touch and the found dog is a girl. Marmite still missing ...
Millys Mum
Is Marmite still missing? Any news? Owners could you update us please.
Millys Mum
ellejay - thanks for your email. I've made contact with Marmite's owner. She thanks you for your support and for regularly checking out the various sites. They are still awaitng a call from the Essex Yorkie (no response to their calls) but have ruled out the Gumtree ad as doesn't look like Marmite.

FOUND THIS ON NATIONAL PET REGISTER.. Subject: Yorkshire Terrier Pet Type: Dog Date Listed: May 28, 2010 Area Found: Dagenham Essex Male entire yorkshire terrier found in Alibon Road/Hunters Hall Road area. He had no collar on. He's very friendly but also very nervous. Quite tall & slender. Looks like he's had a hair cut recently although he was very dirty. Judging by his teeth I'd say he's between 3 & 5 years but on sight could be mistaken for a much younger dog.

There is a puppy male yorkie up on Gumtree for sale in london, wanting £450..stating he is 7 months old... though do say he has papers..... and does not really look like Marmite, but as his pics were taken before haircut, is it worth a look. ??

glitterbelle69 - I'm not sure that we have any DL Helpers registered in the St Mary Cray area but will check (what postal code is StMC?). But, if there are any Helpers out there in Marmite's area, would you kindly contact Marmite's owners if you are able to help poster St Mary Cray - thank you.

hi Glitterbelle The yorkie just jumped up and squirmed around! Its feet didn't leave the floor, it wasn't leaping, just going up on its back legs and putting its front legs on mine. Then getting down and turning around. It didn't go onto its back or anything, and it didn't make any noise, and didn't lick. The woman was kind of um.. (i don't notice humans that much!!) white, probably late 20s, with short, dark hair, either spiked on top, or wavy. she had a vest top on, i think and she was quite tanned and dressed in summery clothes. She was comfortable weight, probably not a long distance runner. more suited to javlin. It was about 3.30pm does that help at all? won't be able to check doglost again til the weekend i'm afraid, but you now know everything else I know. Her friend might have been blond with longerish (shoulder length) hair. so sorry, I am rubbish at noticing or describing humans. I SO hope you find Marmite
glitterbelle69
Thank you Mandy for looking for Marmite.

Marmite has quite a few friends on facebook now...after only a few days! If you want to join please click on the link below. Thanksx http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=120203934681363&v=wall&story_fbid=120208124680944

Hi tazmo007. Can you please describe the woman to me and can you please tell me how the yorkie reacted to you? Thanks for your help. We are going to do a new poster spread down St Marys cray as I think we have been looking in the wrong area all this time. Does anyone know of any doglost memebers who live in St Marys cray who might be able to help with putting up some posters?, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks so much.
glitterbelle69
Gary went to Clarendon way on Saturday and waited around walking up and down the road for an hour and a half. There were no sightings of any small dog. We will go and look again during a week day and see what we can find. I honestly dont think this is Marmite. He is much too friendly to be on his own. He would go up to the first person he sees in a very friendly fashion which is why I believe someone has him and that he is not wandering the streets.
Millys Mum
Thanks Mandy for checking out Battersea for Yorkies. I hope your kindness and support for Marmite's family is rewarded. Also thank you to tazmo007 for stopping and speaking to the Orpington Yorkie owner.

I was visiting in Orpington this afternoon, and I spoke to a woman who had a little yorkie. Its fur was clipped short and it was very friendly. It was well covered (not skinny) I feel very stupid and sorry that I didn't see if it was a boy or a girl. I asked how old it was and the woman said 6 months, very definitely (not "about 6 months, or we're not sure" which made me think it was definitley her dog). She was also very open and friendly and happy to let me stroke the dog. i wish I had asked more questions now of course. :( Anyway, this all happened just outside Boots (roughly) and the women were walking towards St Mary Cray. I think that it probably wasn't Marmite, but I am not good at telling Yorkies apart, but I would be out of order not to tell you about it in case you want to put some posters up down there. Her openness, the dog's well covered bones (would not fit with other sitings of dog fending for himself) make me think probably not, but it is always worth a shot. Sorry I didn't ask for more info or be more suspicious
Mandy
I am going to batersea tomorrow i will have a look.

That's good news about the possible sightings. Do you mean that the people who have seen him, have reported him being on his own in Clarendon Way or being walked by someone? If Marmite is on his own, it's more than possible that he is fending for himself (afterall he is a terrier!) and that he's found himself a nice, little hidey hole with access to water and a food source. Is the area residential or are there also shops nearby? So many of our missing dogs start to follow a routine and are often out and about first thing in the morning and go to ground once things start to get busy. Fingers crossed that this weekend will bring the call you've been waiting for.

I have postered around Bromley and up by Bromley college, and gave some flyers to some customers who said they will keep an eye out, just hope the rain wont ruin them. My O.H is going to laminate some on tuesday at his work, but lets hope Marmite is home by then.
ellejay
I recieved the posters and flyers this morning, and i must say how good they look, very colourful and eye catching, well done to who did those.. I am going out in a min, so will get postering on my rounds, and tomorrow will target the dog walkers in some parks, just in case. How about getting some HELIUM BALLOONS and attaching a small flyer, and maybe laminate them, and get friends and family to all let them go in a park or somewhere, that way the balloons do the travelling for you ??

glitterbelle69 great there has been sightings, hope it is Marmite. Good luck. Jan x ............BUMPED DUE TO SIGHTINGS.......................

Received 2 calls this morning from people living in Clarendon way. They seemed convinced that they have seen Marmite every morning for the last week at around 7-8am. Gary went to have a look this morning after the calls but couldnt see any dog. He's going again tomorrow at about 6.30am with our other dog to see if he can see the dog they are referring too.
glitterbelle69
Ellejay...thank you for taking the time to make Marmites facebook page. Thats one job ticked off. Thank you, you're a STAR! I have now joined.
glitterbelle69
Please excuse all my typos...I can spell honestly! Hello Millys mum, nice to talk to you. Thanks for all your support.
glitterbelle69
I spoke to Kate from DL recently and she was really supportive and pleasant to talk to. She asked if I was opened minded and suggested I try calling a animal communicator or pet psychic to see if she could locate Marmite. I called this lady on Wedesday I think and she was able to pick up Marmites energy and said some quiet accurate things about him. According to this lady Marmite is still with the lady who found him and is being kept 1-2 miles from our home. We are using the information that she gave to look at areas that we havent done much postering in as we have had very little positive information so far which might mean we are being looking in all the wrong areas. I think we should now concentrate on St Mary Cray now as we havent really covered that except Star Lane,Barnfield road and Wagtail way. Fingers crossed!
glitterbelle69
Got several calls from some school girls up near Priory school saying they had found Marmite and had him in a local shop. We dashed up there even though we knew in our hearts it probably wasnt Marmite. Sadly it again wasnt Marmite as we knew, but the situation was just too much for me and I broke down in the shop...tears and mascara everywhere!!!. The young girls were really sweet and thoughtful. Lets hope one day it really will be my darling Marmite...I miss him every day :(
glitterbelle69
Hi Fran (incatig)Sorry for the delay in responding been made busy with work and more posters etc. Gary went to the house up the road and the gentleman was very nice but the dog sadly wasnt Marmite though had the same colouring. Thank you anyway for calling and for all your help with the posters etc. You have been an "ANGEL" and I cant thank you enough for all your help. You have been wonderful and a great source of support since the early days of Marmites disappearance.Bless you xxx
Millys Mum
Thanks ellejay, for springing into action so quickly after receiving my email. I'm so pleased to hear that you are now able to access DL and can help in the search for Marmite. And, also thanks for setting up the Facebook page as I'm hopeless/useless at that type of thing! As you so rightly say, fingers crossed that the good ol' News Shopper will work its magic and that, as a result of the article and extensive postering, it will make this little lad the best known and hottest boy in town. Come on now Marmite, show your gorgeous little face - your family need you home PRONTO!Last edited: 2010-05-27 18:23:09 by Millys Mum

I have also cross-posted to ' The Yorkshire Terrier and Toy breed Rescue ' , the owner of the rescue is yorkie mad and knows a lot of contacts, loads in Kent, where she can spread the word, so we can get Marmite TO HOT TO HANDLE !

So sorry i have not seen this earlier.. i have problems logging on here alot. I an the owner of Dylan a yorkie when he went missing, also was a puppy, in the Bromley area. I have just seen that Milly's mum has informed you about our story.. My printer is not working at the moment, but if i can get hold of some posters i am more than happy to poster Bromley and Hayes. I work around Bromley common so could poster there also.. I am not sure if you have checked all the free ads, but please do everyday, as that is how we found our Dylan up for Sale.. pets4homes.co.uk, gumtree, ukclassifieds, preloved etc... You have probally already done all the usual things like poster the shops, bars, cab offices, get a tannoy over local football clubs, contact local brownie and scout groups etc... I will do my best to keep an eye out for him, on the streets as the free ads. I really hope he is found very soon, andthe News Shopper does work wonders with its ads in there, so lets keep fingers crossed. xx

Hi, this is Fran. I take it the dog I saw yesterday was a red-herring then?
Millys Mum
Thanks Baggy Dog! I've also sent an email to ellejay to tell her about Marmite as we know that she's fond of Yorkies.

What a shame he's still missing. I've just printed a poster for the Last Chance Shop in Chatterton Road (not sure if they have one there yet). People come from all over the area so it's a good place to put a notice. The good old News Shopper has worked wonders in the past, so fingers crossed for Marmite.
Millys Mum
Bumped! Good Luck and well done to the News Shopper for running Marmite's missing story. Fingers, toes and paws crossed here for Marmite's quick return.Last edited: 2010-05-26 21:46:49 by Millys Mum

Good article about Marmite on page 13 of this week's News Shopper. Hope this extra coverage helps to bring Marmite home as that paper has worked wonders before.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
e mail from owner: Can you please bump Marmite (23103) up to the front page as our local paper is running a story on him tomorrow and how my Austic son is missing him. We werent allowed to mention that we are offering a reward but we are hoping that the story will encourage who ever has him to let him come home. If you could place him on the front page I would really appreciate it. Many thanks Patricia
glitterbelle69
Today is a bad day! The weather is lovely but it makes me extra sad. Marmite used to love playing in the garden especially when the weather was nice. I cant help feeling he should be playing in the garden with me and our other dog who misses him so much :( Please come home soon baby xxx
glitterbelle69
Had a call this moring from a lady who says she saw Marmite on Saturday near the Daylight inn pub in Petts wood. She was out with her husband and thought it strange the dog was on his own just walking up and down the road. It was only when she saw the poster today that she remembered the dog on saturday. She said he seemed well and healthy but she described him as "fluffy" but Im not sure I would say that about him. She seemed pretty sure it was him from looking at the picture. My husband went down to have a look but no sightings but he put up new posters.
glitterbelle69
Hello Heidi Thanks for all your help. The staff was dark brown and wearing a thick red collar.Im not sure what to make of it though. We have repeatedly plastering that area with posters but they keep getting torn down by mindless idiots. So far no one has called about the reward money as stated on the new posters which is a shame. I was really hoping that would bring some news.
heidi
Hi Glitterbelle69. Sorry to see that Marmite hasn't yet been returned. I will do a tour of Amherst and Linton each day now (you never know what might turn up) In the meantime keep up your good efforts, but never give up. Do you know what colour the staff was ? Love Heidi
heidi
Hello Glitterbelle69.
glitterbelle69
The News shopper is also putting Marmites story into next weeks paper but they are not allowed to mention the reward money. Fingers crossed it bring some news !!
glitterbelle69
The News shopper have done an online article on Marmite. Have printed new posters which show the £500 reward on it. I know some of you might not agree with this but I just want my dog back home, safe and well and if I have to pay to get him back then I will!
glitterbelle69
The News shopper said that they might be able to run a story on Marmite but I would need a crime number from the police. The police said they were not able to give me a number because they do not deal with dogs!
glitterbelle69
Received a call (number withheld) from a young girl/woman who asked what the reward amount was. I asked her if she had my dog. She didnt answer the question but simply said " but you might not give me the money". I explained that of course I would give her the money, I just want my dog back. She asked again what the amount was and I told her simply that if she had my dog and she returned it I would make it worth her while. She then hung up. All the time the conversation was taking place there was someone else whispering in the background. Does this girl know where Marmite is????? Asked the police to trace the call and they said they couldnt do that unless it was a murder case...total nonsense!!!. Ive been told they can do this. This might lead to someone who knows who has Marmite. ITS SO FRUSTRATING!!!
glitterbelle69
Quite a lot has happened over the last few weeks. We got a call from some lovely girls in the local area about 2 weeks ago now who phoned to say that they had just seen Marmite and that he approached them (something he would do as he loves attention). They described his behaviour perfectly and they almost picked him up but he ran after a Staff that was with him. Both dogs were together by themselves and roaming the streets near Amyhurst Drive/Linton Ave. The dog that looked like Marmite was wearing a red collar as was the Staff. We searched the area and called for Marmite, but there was no sign of either dog. We were in the area 10 minutes after these dogs were seen so not sure to make of this.
glitterbelle69
Hello Heidi Thank you for your message and for taking the time to look for Marmite. It means a lot to me and my family to have the kind support of others...thank you :) I have printed more posters and tried to cover a larger area including Petts wood.

Marmite is in The Countryman’s Weekly magazine today. Good Luck

Hi glitterbelle 69, I have been along both sides of the railway tracks as much as I can between Chislehurst bridge and Petts Wood up to Orpington each day since Sunday. Unfortunately my printer is not working at the moment, so I am unable to help with postering. It's good news that at least it sounds as though Marmite is safe somewhere. I do think you need to poster more, although I've seen 3 posters in Petts Wood itself, it really needs some more putting up. Also worth mentioning I think is you should put an ad in the News Shopper, this has worked several times recently with lost dogs. I'll keep up my search for little Marmite and spread the word as much as poss. On a good note, I did spot a poster at Warlingham for him - that's excellent that news is spreading. Do let me know if I can help in any way. Stay safe little man, your family needs you back. Kim xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I havent updated for a few days now as we have been so busy looking for Marmite and so totally heartbroken we can bearly function. 29.04.10 we put up new posters on the otherside of the railway track. That same day we received a call from a man who had seen our new posters. He said that on the day that Marmite went missing he saw a woman near Amherst Drive and he overheard her saying to another woman that she had found a yorkie (around the time we noticed Marmite had gone)and she didnt know what to do with him. Apprently the other woman told her to take the dog to Brands Hatch but she never has. We are desparate to find this woman or anyone who knows her but so far nothing!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have been putting posters up in our local area but so far not a single sighting of Marmite. A couple phoned yesterday who found a male yorkie near where we live but sadly it turned out to be another dog. They were keeping hold of the dog but I also phoned the warden today.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
