Email from very happy owner, Jet is back home where he belongs. After going out searching again this morning with no result she phoned out of hours dog warden who sugested calling Whitehouse kennels. They had a lab brought in last Sunday evening who was now up for rehoming. They went straight there and found it was Jet. A big thankyou to Doglost for all the advice and support.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have sent Jets missing poster to Holly Hedge rescue, Dogsfriends Rescue as they have holding kennels in Cheddar for strays and rehomes. The car boot dinkydoodle mentioned is huge and a great place to poster, also may be an idea to put flyers or posters on the open top bus tours of cheddar and the caves, lots of holiday makers use these tours.   JET is also Wearing a RED COLLAR. Hope Jet is back home soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The Cheddar car boot sale is held all year round so may be worth going there on Sunday to hand out flyers (and would be good to put up posters there anyway). http://www.cheddarcarboot.co.uk/  I still trawl the net for Simon missing black lab 18956 to will add Jet to my search.  Good luck, I hope he is home soon.x.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There are a few camping sites in this area.  The web site ukcampsite .co.uk will have all the details.  If the camps are contacted they may put missing posters up.  Its the start of the season now and there will be more campers/walkers about.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am bumping Jet back up as he is now in Western Daily Press and will be in the Cheddar Gazette. Owners have been out postering every day, called all dog wardens and kennels. We now think Jet is microchipped so contacting Petlog to try to find detail as he was a working sniffer dog. Photo will be on later today.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jet was out for a walk with his family and was last seen around the Black Rock area. When the family looked round he had vanished and although they searched for several hours and resumed the search this morning there has been no sign of him. Dog wardens for the 3 surounding areas have been informed also local farmers. Requested photoand advised to poster the area. Jet's home is about 12 miles from where he went missing, it would be a good idea to leave a familliar item with the scent of home where the family car had been parked. Maybe a little of the contents of hoover bag?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
