oh it does make me mad when all these caring people go searching for wandering dogs and the actual owners are just not bothered about them when there are all these other people who have lost their dogs and would give anything to get them home.  I hope the DW will take some action in this case.  Well done those helpers involved in looking for this lad.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you so much for letting me know and for being so helpful.  I can stop thinking about it all the time now and if I get anymore phone calls I can tell them he lives in the area.

Hi again. Yes, I went up there earlier - the dog was there. I took a couple of pics to send to you - just to show you that it was not your Kess - a lady came out of her house and told me that the owner of this dog lived in the next street - although the owner had tried to get him back in this morning, she failed !! I then enquired at a house on the same road and was showed which house the dog belongs to - apparently, he gets out all the time and the owner is just not bothered !   I have passed on the details to the DW, who had been trying to catch him today !   FAO Doglost - could this be moved to REUNITED please ? Not much else we can do here. Thanks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just come back from driving round the area by the park in Sunnybank ( where he was sleeping last Friday night ), and down Grove Road, down to the Mond and back again - no sighting.   My hubby has gone back out again and will check again  - also, he will check these areas around 7.30 am tomorrow on route to work. I will also phone the DW again and insist that he tries to catch this poor dog THIS TIME !!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi , thanks for the update - it was nice to speak to you just now on the phone too. I am going to pop down to The Mond area now and see if we can see the GSD. It would appear that he has double backed and come down from Craig Cefn Parc ( where we saw him last Saturday night ) and back in to Clydach. I will update if we get any more sightings.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi thought I would let you know over the last two days I have had four phone calls from different people who have seen a German Shepherd wandering around Clydach.  I think it is the one that you saw and not Kess but I am going to try and get up there tomorrow, my brain tells me its the one you saw but ...well I cant help hoping especialy because one person saw it wandering with another dog. Stupid I know, what are the odds of two German Shepherds wandering around Clydach at the same time but I cant help it. Even if it is the one you saw I might be able to help catch him/her the poor thing has been wandering awhile.
Just in case you are still looking for this dog it has been spotted in these areas:
The Mond
The cemetary opposite the shops
Park by sunnybank
and Post code SA8 4DX
Dont know what I am going to accomplish aimlessly wandering but I might get lucky and spot him/her

hi, no it is not Ozzy. Sadly, this dog appears to have moved on - we have not had sight of him / her since late Saturday night. Wherever he / she is, I pray that he keeps safe. I have had no response from the local paper and there are still no 'lost' notices anywhere for him. It is very strange. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I know its a long shot as its so far away from us but could it be Ozzy? (doglost ID 21438)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I have looked at the picture of Kess again and so has my husband who has helping in trying to catch this dog - we are both sure that it is not Kess - the dog here has a nearly all black face - not as much tan as Kess on the face / ears. We have been following the story of Kess and her friend since they went missing and as my hubby works near to where they lived, he has also been keeping an eye open for them both.   Sadly, since the last sighting we had of this dog last night, we have not seen him since ( we have a gut feeling that it is a he, but of course can not be certain ). We have been up to the spot 3 times today, but no sighting. The food from last night has gone, but that could be a fox.   I will look up there again late tonight, just in case he /she has double backed and returned. If it continued to head up to the next village, then it could be staying there - but we have also been looking there today. Sadly, if he goes any further upwards, it turns into vast mountains. I feel so sorry that we could not catch this poor dog and where on earth are it's owners ? It is in such fab condition. I really do feel that the DW should have done more on FRiday. I have emailed the local paper last night - hopefully they will print an article and someone may know something. This is just so sad. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi are you sure this is not Kess? It is not a very good photo of her as she is all curled up but she is quite dark more black than tan.  I have no explanation for a different collar but I cant help but hope.
Is the dog still in the same area? Do you think it would be worth me getting a lift up to have a look?

Hi Shereen, no, Mesha has more sable on her - this one is very dark. Worth trying though.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Owl, I don't think it would work then - the spot that the dog is staying in is right next to a green elec box - on a bit of green public land, close to a childrens play area.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I don't have a trap to hand, have to arrange to borrow one from my friend, will talk to her tomorrow. It will need to be set up somewhere that isn't a public place.

Hi Owl, a trap is what is needed here. I can not understand why the DW didn't do more yesterday. He just said that he couldn't get near him and left it at that. The dog is not going into any gardens from what I've seen - BUT I know where he slept last night and he is staying in that area. I have just been out again - found him asleep at the roadside ,on the pavement, just a few hundred yards from where he slept last night. I had taken a pan of hot boiling meat jiuce with me and some food, and just stood nearish to him - BUT as soon as he spotted me , he was off again. He has now headed for the next village up  - Craig Cefn Parc, so we didn't chase him, but I left a trail of meat juice along the pavement and back to where I've left the food dishes ( the exact place that he slept last night.   Hopefully, he will turn back and come back to the usual place. If you could bring a trap and I'm at home at the time, I will meet you and show you the exact spot. It is really pitiful for this dog.   Why on earth isn't someone looking for him ?  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi sheltie lady, I am maybe 25 miles from you, may be able to borrow a trap if you can keep encouraging him to come to your garden.

If you lay down, next time you see this dog, avoid eye contact and hold out your hand with food/titbit in it. He will probably come to you. Have a slip lead over the arm and you may just get him. Good luck...

hi, no, I have looked at Kess and it is not the same one ( to me anyway ! ) and also, this one has a brown leather collar and Kess had a red one - as this shepherd is running scared, I very much doubt anyone could have swapped collars. Thanks anyway. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Doglost for loggin this sighting for me.   This purebred black & tan GSD was outside my house at lunchtime yesterday - obviously lost, very well cared for, in exc condition and wearing a brown leather collar and a tag. I tried to get near it, but it bolted. I phoned the DW & Police, who both arrived a couple of hours late, but we could not get close enough to the dog. Ploice continued to drive around the locality last night , but again, can not get to it.   My hubby and I wlaked the streets until about 10.30 pm last night and with the help of some passer by, we tried to get it again. But he just kept on running.   My hubby went to the spot where it is going back to, at 5.30 am this morning and the dog was asleep there, but soon took off when he knew he was being watched. I have now been up there this morning and left 2 bowls of food & water to hope he will return again. Also 2 workmen are keeping an eye on him / her and trying to feed it. The only way I think we could catch him his with a trap ?? Anyone ??   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
