I, I tried to post a few times last week but kept getting thrown out.  I am so pleased that Mia is well and safely back home.  It's good to have a happy ending.  Tracey, can you please keep your eyes open for anyone you see with a yorki who didn't have one before?  We are still trying to find the little one from MK6.  Thank you. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone.  Mia is fine!  She was mildly hypothermic, bruised, matted & bedraggled, scared, tired & very hungry but otherwise ok.  Fortunately she didnt have any puncture wounds.  She is soooo happy to be home.  Im sure she will recover from her ordeal quickly & hopefully without further distress. I would like to send everyone my deeepest, heartfelt thanks to all involved in her safe return to myself & her "hubby" Alfie.  Mere words could never express my sincere gratitude for all the help, support & kindness shown by so many special people.  Those hugs meant so much when my hopes were waning.  God bless you all. I know Mia would like to send you all her many thanks&big wet sloppy kisses......... Special thoughts for each & every special person who helped, including the workers at Knowlhill & Les from complete ground maintenance. I only wish i could express my gratitude towards you, mere words can never be enough.  Big hugs to all.  xxxxxxxxxxx                                           Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

WOO WOO & DOUBLE WOO Mia is safe and at the vets at the moment. POSTERS again the key (thanks Ladies) Grounds maintainace men gave us a lead to where she was and then in quick sucession as Tracy showed me the area we have calls of a sighting at far car park where we had left food last night. Tracy went back for the car & I went on foot - she was no where to be seen again, then a call from a lady who had just seen her and had rallied co works to come and look for her armed with biscuits. I just sent Tracy back to car for posters when over her head I spotted Mia at about 200 yards. Tracy called her and she recognised but stayed still, I called to Tracy to get on the floor and call Mia, - recognition of Mum's voice and she came running. ( Quick Tear Break ) She looks remarkably well but Tracy has taken her to the vets fora check up as she has some puncture wounds to her shoulder. Tracy will update me laterLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so pleased Mia has been reunited with her owner.  It's quite hard spotting a white dog in the snow but the paw prints helped to track her whereabouts, also all the sightings from people.  It's great how many people have searched, kept an eye out and reported back.  Welcome home Mia, enjoy the lovey warm cuddles I know you will be getting later today. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

URGENT REQUEST FOR HELP Owner has been out all night and will not leave to go and have some food and clean clothes  until there are some posters up in area, I am at work - an anyone print some off and take to car park at teardrop lakes with some sellotape / parcel tape so that she can put some up in key places? Please reply to me in first instance so that I know she has some support Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Elliejay, Tongwell is quite a long way away,(useful to know for future dogs in that area though) I think this little one will stay in this area or maybe run to housing in Loughton or Shenley Lodge. The Fountain pub would be a good place - quite close and the smells from the grill bar will be irresistable. It is raining hard now so I don't think that Mia will move anywhere at the moment, good time for rest and refuel time  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Are you near the Coca- cola Depot Tongwell in Milton Keynes ??
If so its worth telling the security guys there. I work for another Depot and we have had several dogs get on the land in previous years as its quiet at  night and the sweet smell of sugar seems to attract some dogs to the depot, there will be loads of hiding places there as well.worth a ask if you near there.
She looks a stunning dog, i really hope you find her soon , my thoughts are with you all.

00.05 - Just got back in from searching - Jane & I walked the entire length of the park and around both sides of the lake didn't see little Mia, spoke to couple of late night dog walkers one of which was going to put on intranet at work in morning. As we got back to the car park to meet up with owner who was on way back I caught sight of a small dog through the hedge in car park of industrial building beyond, we climbed through the hedge to investigate but it had moved off quickly, there were fresh paw prints in the snow which the owner feels are very likely to be Mia's as they are the right shape and size, this dog was on its own and moving quickly so hopefully it is Mia, advised owner on where to set up scented items and there is a search team continiuiing over night. Hope that we get good news soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just back from a very extensive search of the area. No she isn't wearing a collar or her ID, as owner just dropped Mia into the park after shopping for a quick run around.
We have searched all the hedge rows, tree lined areas, as far into the bushes as we could from the entrance to the park at Loughton (by the equestrian centre) all the way down to the bowl.  A local chap who was walking his collies joined in the search, and drove around all the industrial area to the side, as well as joining us searching the park area on foot. He is going back first thing in the morning.  He also went back to owners house to check, but no sightings.
Others involved in the search have given Mia's details to the security men who are patrolling the office areas, who have radio'd back to their main office. They will be keeping a watchful eye open tonight.
Mia is a very sweet and sensitive little girl, and can be quite timid with strangers.
Please hurry home little girl, we miss you so very much.
 Please help find her.

If she's injured don't be surprised if she lies low tonight - shock means that dogs will take some hours to regain composure before showing themselves - look in hedges etc to seek if she's taken cover xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just heard from Mia's owner, who has just used a volunteer helpers phone to contact me.
She is herself a doglost helper in the area.  Several people have searched the bushes, and around the area of the car park but there is no sign of Mia there at all.  We don't know if she is just shocked, or badly injured.  Have also contacted Milton Keynes Animal Ambulance.

Have contacted local vets and dog warden, all contacts from our dog training school and agility who know Mia.
Mia was attacked by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier at the Teardrop lakes, Loughton at about 16.45pm and has run off.  She is of a nervous disposition.
You can watch a youtube video of Mia by going to this link as have no photo's of her.
www.youtube.co.uk/watch?v=Xh3VEEqx8Ts
Hope I have copied this correctly.
Just off to the Teardrop lakes now, as owners phone charge has died so unable to make contact with her.
