Dear All   Thank you for all your kind words and welcome home messages for Sherlock.   I can not tell you what a relief it is and the days in which he was missing just roled into one!!   He has been checked over by the Vet and could not wait to sleep last night - I don't think he moved - not that I know for sure as it was the best night sleep I had had in a good few days...   Happy New Year and once again Thank You.  My Mum and Sister went back to the woods today and we put up signs to let people know he had been found - and one lady even cuddled my Mum.  It is nice to know that there are genuine nice people out there.  People have been phoning after seeing posters in the local village offering to do a search, thankfully they don't need to.   Karyn and Sherlock xxx ready for another early relaxing evening - beats sitting and peeing in the darkest of woods!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Karyn here!!! A very happy Karyn -  After receiving a call early this morning we ventured into the woods after the first sighting in 2 days.  We were there all morning and saw him ourselves he was so frightened he just kept running - it was so busy and to a certain degree although intentions were good it was loud and busy - we went home for an hour and then returned and found him.......   Last night my sister called a psyic (I know some have more faith than others) anyway she confirmed that he was still alive and near a stream.. and that is were I found him!!   Thanks to all on Doglost - it has been really helpful and nice to have someone to talk to and I thank you all so very much...   Happy New Year - and if your dog is lost don't give up - Sherlock is the smallest dog lost in 100 acres of dense woodland for 72 hours.  He is tired and thin but made it through...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Is this High Wycombe or West Wickham ??/ if the latter i am round the corner practically..
I know how you feel when you constantly see in your head your dog running off like that, i wa sthe same when our Dylan went missing and he was only 6 months, i have never seen a dog run so fast, and it was pitch black at midnight when he legged it, i have never felt so sick in all my life.
As hard as it is, please try and keep strong, live and breathe 24.7 if you can doing all you can to get him back, i did not stop and after 4 days i got our baby back..
Just make him to ' hot to handle ' as you probs well know and dont give up, some silly person has probally taken him in in thsi weather and waiting till after the new year to find you.

Karyn, as Majorjet says, you are doing fantastically. Keep going with the publicity - you can never have too much. The more people that are made aware, the more pairs of eyes are out there helping to look for Sherlock. You are doing all the right things with the scenting. It is a waiting game. It's not easy, far from it, and a nervous dog can take a long time to show itself. Stay with it, Karyn, and keep us posted.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I am the owner of Sherlock and worried sick as the weather is so bad... have put loads of posters up and have contacted the local papers.  I have been back for the past 2 days and there is no sign of him, I just keep visualising him running so scared and him disappearing out of site. I have tried loads of things - sitting quietly in the dark of night, peeing in the area, taking smelly food, the contents of my hoover, other family pets and still nothing. People have talked about dogs being lost in this vast woodland for weeks and then coming home. Fingers crossed - also offering a CASH REWARD  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lovely photo of Sherlock now uploaded, fingers crossed he is found soon.  Good luck.  Jan x Email rcvd with photo: Hi   Here is the photo of Sherlock - he is distinquished in that he has very little tan on him.  I have been back to the woods tonight - to no avail.  Will try the trick with my mums dog tomorrow that Sue told me about.   Your service has been fantastic particurlarly bearing in mind it is Christmas Time (although it does not feel like it here).  Sue was a God Send on the phone and I thank her immensly.   My postcode is SO32   thanks  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sherlock ran off when he was chased by two large dogs with bells attached to their collars. He is described as quite timid, and it is unlikely he would approach people. Owner has already informed the authorities, and has been out postering and searching. She has sent a poster, which includes Sherlock's photo, to admin.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
