Don't worry-dogs are not shoved into a field for up tp 50yrs. They are all well looked after by people. I have been told that I am surrounded by spirit dogs and not all of them are mine. Wish I could see them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ozzie's owner has asked for me to post this message :- Dear All, Thank you very much for all you have done for us in trying to find Ozzie. Today is a very sad day for us as we were so looking forward to giving this gorgeous boy a beautiful home for his retirement. Rest in peace Ozzie, you were with us only for a short while but we loved you and are missing you.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry for posting so late - I have had to be somewhere else today, but have been in constant touch with all parties involved in the search. We are all so upset, and so sorry for poor Ozzie. Such a rotten end to what was to be a new life for him. There are no words of comfort that will help, I know, but thank goodness the police were called to the scene immediately and Ozzie did not lie by the road. He was taken to the best place possible, straight away, and would have had the best treatment. I'm sure the correct decision was made, and no more could be done. Thank you to all those involved at the scene, and to the vets on call. My thoughts are with both families who have owned this lovely dog and been worried sick about him this week. Thanks also to Kate. It was not meant to be this time, and I know Ozzie will now be young and whole again at Rainbow Bridge along with his new found friends. So sorry everyone, and God Bless Ozzie x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

To all at doglost especially Hazel and Kate, Thank you so much for everything you have done and everyone else who has offered their support and good wishes. It is a very sad day for me and I wish I had never made the decision to rehome him in the first place. I was so full of hope this morning when I heard of a sighting, but then came bad news !! I know he is now at peace with his best buddy My very old darling gentleman Magnus, who went to Rainbow bridge only a few short weeks ago too. R.i.P Ozzie and thanks again to you all.XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

RIP Ozzie :(
THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm Spring weather. The old frail animals are young again. They play all day with each other. There is only one thing missing, they are not with their special person who loved them so much on Earth.
Each day they all run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears rise up! The eyes are staring! Then suddenly, this one runs from the group! You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her into your arms and you both embrace. Your face is licked again and again and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separate

Latest from owner :- Brief update on Ozzie. We received a phone call early this morning. Ozzie was found by the A14 he had been hit by a car and has been taken to Wood Green Animal Shelter. We went over to see him but we were not allowed. We were told at the moment is touch and go, his legs are not broken but they think he could have spine injuries, we don't know any more information. Just waiting to see what happens, Wood Green said they will phone us with news. This is very sad indeed, when he was sighted yesterday we were hoping for better news. We are all terribly sad and upset, especially our little one. Thanks for all your help, advise and support over this very difficult week. I shall let you have more news as long as we know ourselves. Could you please also inform Kate. Thanks again for everything.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

OZZIE HAS BEEN FOUND - Not so good news though - just heard from breeder that he is at Wood Green animal shelter, badly injured and under sedation. Please everyone - send positive thoughts, and fingers crossed Ozzie will be ok, bless him x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Bumped due to sighting !!  Brilliant news. This is what we wanted. Now we need the bundle of clothes, bedding with breeders scent, plus new owners scent to be placed in the area sighted along with smelly food and water. Girls - read the scentin instructions again, and that is the way to go now. You need to set up a safe place with these familiar smells and constant supply of food, until you can gain his trust. Dont expect him to just come running to you. Kate, I'm going to email scenting to you too. maybe you can help replenish the food if owner cannot always get there due to the child care commitments. Food needs to be placed early morning and late afternoon. We are half way there now ! well done ! x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Only just seen this,  been out all day,  have just been in touch with his owner and we are both going to contact the dog warden in the morning and will arrange to meet where he's been spotted today.  Seems it is him but he wouldn't come to the lady that saw him.  His owners have been to look for him but haven't seen him yet.  Fingers crossed this will be his last night out in the open! I'm very close to Offord,  if I can help in any way please let me know!  I'd be worried sick if it were one of mine! I've also put a link to this on my facebook status,  mainly friends round the area so should spread the word a bit more.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Nothing Alfmar. Have been in cotact all the weekend with both new owner and breeder. Breeder is unable to get to site as has comitments at home, and too far away. New owner has been doing stuff, but loads more needs doing. All the information re- scenting has ben forwarded, but new owner thinks Ozzie would not respond to her scent as doesnt know her that well. I think she has done a bit of that though, and obviously been out searching. All contact numbers have also been emailed out to owner and breeder, plus vets, and media, and also general information sheets. Have done what I can my end. All local helpers have been sent posters, plus all my contacts in that area, also vets with email addies that I can find. Breeder is going to try to make some more calls today, and has a bundle of bedding, clothing etc with scent on ready for collection if owner can collect. Am seriously hopeing that Ozzie has given himself up to someone, and will be handed to proper authorities now the weekend is over. I am also hopeing new owner will get something in the papers. Very sad situation for Ozzie !  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
