local holding kennels and Luton warden have been informed about this poor  RTA victim, at the point Shirley's report came in nothing matching had been reported to either. I think that the farmer who owns the fields on the Northbound side of the motorway has a l/W Springer who can often been seen in the field with the big hill and the worn pathway if that helps to elimante the spaniel?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

with reference to the spinger spaniel, i spent over 2 hours sunday afternoon trying to find a spinger that i saw near the train station in bedford, it was liver and white, had a collar and possibly a tag but doesnt appear to be listed as missing anywhere locally. it disappeared into some gardens while i was turning the car and i couldnt locate it after that though i drove and walked around for ages afterwards as the traffic was busy and the dog was very nervous and wouldnt come to anyone.possibly this may be the same springer having followed the line of the railway.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I also saw this poor little dog on the M1 on Sunday morning and can't stop thinking about it. I have just contacted Luton Council and have left a message for the Dog Warden, I have given the details of the dog and have gone through all the recently lost dogs they have logged. There is nothing that fits the description of this one. The lady on the phone looked back until the 30 July. I have advised of the Doglost website address if the Dog Warden needs any further information. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I just hope it's not something more sinister like stolen dogs being dumped on a the main roads.  This is so sad.  :-(

Cannot believe this .. twice in one week I have now found RTA dogs.  So very sad.  On Sunday 09/08/09 was driving on M1 motoroway Junction 10 (Luton area) and at the side of the road was a dog that had obviously been in a fatal RTA.  Dog was difficult to describe as we were sadly unable to stop on the motorway to check out details.  Dog was small; cream/white in colour with longish wavey hair.  Wearing a red collar.  Also seen by other friends travelling in same direction.  However, a different friend travelling in same direction earlier than us said she definately saw a liver and white spaniel run into the woodland beside the same place.  Now I don't think this dog was a spaniel (& didnt see any tan on it), it looked more like a very large Westie or similar, so this dog might have been out with a spaniel when it went missing.   Just hope owner has been informed.  So sad .. rip little one.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
