Thank you everyone for your kind comments. We thought she was lost forever. Taken from the lane outside the farm woman thought she must be a stray as so thin (working dog) she was 12kgs is now 16kgs!!!!  Thank god for microchips and vigilant vets. Other dogs also pleased to see her, just like she never left!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Absolutely wonderful. So pleased for owners and indeed, well done to the vet. I do wish people who find dogs would realise that keeping them is theft by finding and they cause untold heartache. Welcome home little one, I do hope that is where you are now...

Wonderful news  and welcome home it  and just shows the power of the microchip. We took our dog last week and she checked hers to make sure it was still in the same place after 7 years and to put it on the computer as they have just gone computerised with their records. Wish all vets would do the same and make the job of finding dogs easier. I hope things turn out okay with the finders and owners. I do wonder if these people that find dogs ever wonder where these dogs have come from it pays to try and find the correct owners.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Welcome home Pepper, its such a shame its not the law for all vets to scan new dogs, but very well done to the vet who did a great job and made one family very happy by getting lovely Pepper back to them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is fantastic news, well done to the Vet  for doing the right thing , this is what we need for ALL dogs to be scaned I am sure we would find many more lost dogs that way.
Welcome home Pepper xxx

Point of microchipping is to reunite to owners.    Sorry finders feel reluctant but sure there are lots of springers out there that need a home and one would suit them.  Welcome home Pepper.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Pepper has just been taken into a local vet who was suspicious about where owners got the dog from. Luckily they scanned Pepper and her chip showed up. Owner is going to meet finders at the vets...she says finders are reluctant to give Pepper up as their children are attached to her....Finders did not report the dog as found to anyone so have esplained to owner that technically it is theft by finding and they dont have a leg to stand on....will switch to reunited when confirmed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone.  Thanks for all your help.  I have phoned the dog trust, but the spaniel is a dog and have tried the lady that found a springer this morning but no answer, I will try again later. We are still looking!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Message from helper: Hello Sorry to mail you but I cant appear to add my own comment about this on the forum, I don?t want to get hopes up but I feel that its worth a shot, there was a dog names ? pepper? and she / he was also a Springer Spaniel at the ? Dogs Trust, in Shoreham By Sea 01273 452576 - that I visited on recently. I went there on Monday to donate dog food.   Please would you ask the owner to ring there and give that a whirl.     Many thanks Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Please help us.  My son took dogs for a walk on sunday 7th pm and Pepper and her brother went off hunting! Brother returned 2 hours later we have not seen Pepper since.  I have phoned police, dog wardens, kennels, local vets and put up posters.  We live on a farm against the M5, but Pepper hates cars and travelling in them, so I don't think she would have gone onto Strensham services, but you never know. Any info would be gratefully received.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
