I'm so pleased to hear that Scooby is back home with Adam. I expect he was keen to get back to his nice comfy spot on the settee! He looks so cosy - lucky boy. Yes, as has already been said, PLEASE make sure that Adam updates the details of Scooby's microchip and also please can he have a collar and a nice, new, shiny ID tag, as a welcome home present? Having up-to-date, 'visual' ID would probably have meant that he would have been reunited sooner with his worried owner. But, that said, I'm so happy for Adam and, as for Scooby... stop annoying the local fox population, you naughty boy!!!

GREAT NEWS Adam has had a phone call this morning from the original owner of Scooby to say that the Dog Warden has called to say they have Scooby, she has confirmed that Adam is now the owner and the Dog Warden is contacting again later to arrange return of Scooby. As yet we don't know when or where he was found. A Big THANK YOU to all of you lovely caring people that have looked for Scooby and offered suggestions. A Happy Ending. A friend of mine runs Epsom Canine Rescue and knows all about Scooby so she will certainly let you know if he turns up there. I have also told my nephew who is a policeman in Epsom.  Where did Scooby used to walk with his owner ? Nork Park/Downs make sure you poster all these places and if you can (though I hope he'll be back before)  hand out small posters at the Banstead boot sale, I assume it is on this Sunday. It would be really good if you can put Reward on the posters might make all the difference, worry about actually giving them the money when he is safely home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still no news on Scooby. My printer has been out of action so I was not able to print posters but working now so getting some printed now.  Offering a reward is not an option as Adam is out of work at present and my self and my husband are only on a pension. Any names of KT rescues would be of help and you can always email me direct if that is acceptable on lindalane28@hotmail.co.uk I have just spoken to Epsom Canine Defence but she is quite sure Scooby has not been handed in there although she is going to check with colleagues. I feel so sorry for Adam and Scooby as I know if either of my dogs went missing I would going out of my mind with worry. I just hope and pray that Scooby is safe and well wherever he is. Thank you all for your help and concern. LindaLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Afterthought.........if someone has taken him in around there, you may have to offer a reward for his safe return, increases the possibility that a neighbour may get in touch as well if they've seen a new dog appear. No decent person would take it of course but sometimes it's the only way.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So you are near the Downs. The greenkeepers are usually very helpful but as this is Derby week (nearly) they won't be so keen on posters going up, but make sure you speak to them about Scooby. Give them a poster in their hut by the mini roundabout. Also the snack hut they're, really nice people that will let you put a poster up. Vets and pet shop at Tattenham corner ? Asda ( not usually very helpful) but will put a poster at customer services.  The funfair will be arriving shortly and as I said before check the travellers sites.  A while ago a friend of mine who runs a rescue was telling me about dogs (puppies in this case) being sold at the Banstead F.C. boot sale, poster all round that area. That is a very big estate it would seem likely that someone has taken him in around there, hope for good news very soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone, I am afraid we have still not had any news regarding Scooby. We contacted Reigate & Banstead Dog Warden today and where told they would check all possibilities and contact either Adam or myself if they have any news but nothing so far. Adam spoke to local policeman who was passing by he also promised to make enquires and keep his eyes and ears open. Adam feels quite strongly that someone has taken Scooby in, he doesn't seem to think that he would be frightened and lost but I on the otherhand think that he could have lost his bearings and has become tired and hungry and now not acting in his normal confident manner. I have no experience of lost dogs so I don't know how they react. I just hope he turns up soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

By the way 'visitors' have started arriving for the Derby and at the moment have set up camp near the Church on Epsom Common. There may be another camp near Horton Country Park, there usually is.  Wandering dog could well be attracted to site, cooking smells, rubbish to scavenge through etc.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the message Paula.  Can owners tell us whereabouts in Epsom this was ?  I am actually KT19 .  Can't stress enough to check with the company that picks up loose dogs and double, double check. Local helpers will remember the Vicars dog that went missing recently  and was sitting in kennels while the Council assured owner he hadn't been picked up. It was only someone who knew someone who worked at the kennels seeing a poster that got him home safely.  Hope you will get good news now the bank holiday weekend is over.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Dee, Scooby went missing from home. Adam and Scooby were sitting in their flat with the door open, a usual occurrence in warm weather,  and a fox ran passed, Scooby gave chase, Adam immediately followed and called him but within a couple of minutes he was out of site and not seen since. We are hoping that someone has taken him in if they are unable to contact the Reigate & Banstead Dog Warden as we couldn't, seems they don't operate at weekends and Bank Holidays. Many thanks for your help and concern, LindaLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Beth... has Adam tried scenting?  ie going back to where he was lost and laying a scent for him to recognise where he is?  if you need details email me on denise.ford@blueyonder.co.ukLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you so much for putting Scooby's details on here, my friend Adam, Scooby's owner, is so worried about his safety. He has run of before and has been missing for 2 to 3 hours but just returned home, this time worryingly he has been gone for much longer. We wonder if someone has taken him in hopefully just over the weekend. Scooby loves his food and if he was offered anything he would most likely go to a stanger. Once he knows someone he is very friendly but he can be and has been quite aggressive to other dogs which adds to the worry both for other dogs and his own safety. Please help us to bring him home safely. Thank youLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
