hi not sure how relevant this is, but there is a Black Lab running wild in the Lammermuir Hills ( scottish Borders) and has been running wild for at least 8 weeks.  Very nervous dog and so far no one has been able to catch it.  I know its far away and we dont know what sex this dog is either as no one has got close enough, but thought it might be worth mentioning. its posted on here under found dogs Scotland.       Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have spoken to Jenni's owners this morning and there has been no  news of her at all since she went missing. They have checked the found dog out on lostdogsyorkshire and they are satisfied it is not Jenni. They are still actively searching for her and it is thought someone may have taken her in. Hoping we get some news of her very soon xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm sorry to see Jennie is missing . Please do follow up on the advise that Alfmar and Jumanji have given.  It would be really helpful to have a picture of Jenni if possible.   I hope she is back home soon xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jenni was lost on a walk about 5-10 minutes by car from where she lives. She was lost whilst on a walk with a relative and may have been spooked  by a bird scarer. Her owners have been postering in the area she went missing in and also the surrounding villages.and along with others they have been out searching for her but unfortunately there have been no sightings of her so far. Jenni is a very nervous dog and if she has gone into hiding she will be avoiding people but having said that she is very greedy so will be wanting food and may show herself for that. I have suggested scenting near to where she went missing in case she returns there.but with the bird scarer still operating she may well have moved away from this area. Dog wardens have been contacted. Hoping this girl is home very soon Pam xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I?m sorry to hear your dog is missing. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres?local council stray dogs holding kennel give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars.., If you can go down there each day to check for your dog that is the best thing as they only have to hold a dog for 7 days before it can legally be rehomed or in some cases destroyed. It is also worth contacting the local police as if someone has found your dog they may well have contacted them. email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo please if you haven?t already. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Get postering now?..as quickly and as many as you can physically manage. make sure you offer a reward on the posters. POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog. Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, lay by snack vans, service stations, bins, poo bins, shopping centres, take away outlets, pubs, lamposts, caf?s, leisure centre?s,??.basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you. Tell postman and binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? infact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly. Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found and make sure you offer a reward!. If you believe your dog has been stolen then it is very important you contact the police for a crime reference number?. And the postering publicity should have the aim of not only getting gyour dog home but making it too hot to handle. Cross posted to Labrador forums Good luck xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
