That's awful Deborah, some sick people out there, but unfortunately have heard of this before. Hope there are some more sightings today and he is home very soon
Deborahj
Just to add, I was targeted by scammers, last night, who said they had my dog and threatened to kill him if I didn't pay them money, or tried to involve the Police! Anyone else looking for their dog, please be aware! Reported to Doglost. Last edited: 2021-05-03 09:20:56 by Deborahj

We've searched Addington Park this morning and spoke to some people who saw him run onto the golf course around 8pm last night. We've given contact details to both nearby golf courses and will be dropping posters off later. Please keep an eye out if you're playing golf at Addington Palace. Thank you!

Fingers crossed Bertie is found safe and soon. xxx

Edit ... Read below, but person has sent pic of Bertie to friend who saw the black dog and she thinks it was Bertie from pic ...Hi, shared post on West Wickham Mums to 'All About Shirley' and someone has commented as follows with a possible sighting?... time would have been around 3 hours ago from now which is 11.23 pm, so possibly 8.30 pm.

"A friend said she found a little black dog around addington palace/ gravel hill. She couldn’t catch him as he was scared. Black dog with a blue collar." She commented further to confirm it was the park at Gravel Hill.

Would have been dark so possibly colour of collar not clear? Just thought it was worth adding here, just in case.Last edited: 2021-05-02 23:38:53 by Precious Paws

Hi Imogen and Heather, Bertie went missing around 5pm in Shirley and he was wearing a black and white collar so this wasn't him but thank you so much for taking the time to comment!

Hi Imogen - Pepe was loose in Reigate this morning 2/5 (lost from the Priory at 11am) - small black dog, red collar, so could it have been him you saw? His photos are on FB group We Love Reigate, posted by Imaani Dar. He was reunited today. (can't find a doglost entry for him)
Imogen
I’m not 100% sure if it looked like Bertie but I spotted a small black, scruffy looking dog with a red collar in Reigate. He ran across the A25 and into Reigate castle grounds. He seemed spooked and passersby said they saw him run into the undergrowth but we couldn’t find him. 11.30am on 2nd May.
