You are right about all the kind people who helped get Bubbles home, Muns. She would have been a lot harder to get had she not gone to Cricketers. They really went all out to help her. It shows that there are caring people about.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Sheri, She was back to normal straight away except for growling at Sally. Had my feet licked the same night! And she and Millie have been playing together. Millie still bites her leg. Thanks for everything that you did for Bubbles.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I agree D The situation seemed so dire at one stage but so much good has come out of the whole episode and hopefully still is. So many great people put themselves out in the area to catch Bubs and new support is evolvng for Doglost. Bubbles story keeps rolling along like a snowball getting bigger and bigger. Just so glad it is the happy ending we all prayed for and neither Bubbles nor you has suffered any permanent damage.

At least some good has come of poor Bub's plight and hope more people will come forward to help or report lost or found dogs. Hope your pictures are better, Madmutz. I cringe when I see the others. At least the picture in the paper was just of Bubbles!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well I have been on radio Cambs-Peterborough broadcast area and The presenter introduced it as a story that has everything and worthy of a Disney production-had a good slot and mentioned DL at least 10-15 times Dearly would have loved and requested mentioning Rocky but they decreed wrong area for them but ended with presenter saying what a wonderful organisation DL is. Sorry if forgot to mention anyone, but when you are doing it you never can mention all you want but excellent coverage of this success story and team Bubbles 'antics' and local residents great help. Hope it may encourage more people to become DL helpers in the area

Things are back to normal now. Sally can nibble her again without growls or opposition. She sleeps alot so maybe that is why we never saw her. Could have been snoring away somewhere! Not only is she a celebrity but now has a team named after her.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

http://www.fenlandcitizen.co.uk/news/Dog-found-safe-and-well.4890553.jp Hi Everyone, here's the link to the Bubbles happy ending story, kindly printed by the Fenland Citizen. DL get a couple of mentions! Following a lot of hard graft - liaison between Muns and Council should hopefully have an improved working relationship with wardens and more found dogs reported to DL too. Hope Bubbles has settled down happily in the new place with Dorothy and the other 3 minx's! Bless her.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Bubbles had her morning carrot, but when I got the lead to take her out in the "garden" she ran off. She wasn't going to risk being taken for a walk! She goes outside now on her own but I am always with her and she is always the first to go back inside. One worrying thing is that she growls at her mother. When the call came through from Hils to say that she was captured I thought it was the low battery sound and took a while answering it. It was great that Amanda was there at the end of her escapade as she had put in a lot of mud plodding in the early days and it was sticky stuff! Sheri will have time on her hands now unless she posters for little Thimble. You have all been wonderful and Bubbles would thank you if she could.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The photos are lovely, we are so lucky that she is safe and well. Party - def up to that once the sun shines a bit more. Agree everyone who helped were wonderful and Bubbles is probably the most famous dog in Wisbech. Sure we'll all keep in touch now. Great idea Madmutz and we can invite all the other people too. Gabbi rang me back from Conifer Lodge last night after I had told someone there she was safe and was thrilled and said she would bring the spare food back to Vet Savers. I also rang farmers Ashley and Nick who were equally pleased. I will be there. Look forward to it. Bubbles looks so happy-makes it all worth while and so very pleased for Dorothy who has had a difficult couple of months but has never given up. Aaaaaw

, then she had a bit of a sleep while I finished work and then madmutz(lovely lady) arrived and drove me and bubbles all the way to dorothy's house for that Reunion, Bubbles was great in the car and is sooooooo lovely and cuddly, she was sooo glad to see dorothy- it took a couple of mins before she recognised her but when she did her tail never stopped wagging. The people that live in the cul de sac where she has been visiting for the last couple of weeks are Fantastic. , All of retirement age, they have made sure Bubbles is never frightened off, they have put food out every day for her, they have left their garden gates open for her, they have washed her food and water bowls daily for her and crept out late at night and early morning with torches to make sure she was not trapped in cage and she was only in cage ten mins b4 they rung me(real champions) sheriLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Madmutz - A brill idea I think we should defo get together with all those people(cricketers team) and everybody for a get together, i cant wait so pleased to have been part of this,   i still cant believe it has happenned, I went to the place where we had put the live trap this morning before I went to work, and set it with a lovely piece of roast lamb(bearing in mind we had set the trap for 3 days and she had managed to take the food without! tripping the wire), and i had just got into work when I received a call from a resident in cricketers to say there is a dog in the trap barking!- Well, I didnt dare hope it was her but i immediatly went to the site and there she was in the trap barking like mad- so myself and daughters b/friend and resident dragged the cage out of it's hiding place and the lovely residend called Colin offered to take Bubbles in trap to my employers Vetsavers, where she was checked over and deflead!!!! and wormed Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I think everything has just about been said here. What an exciting day ! I'm so glad Hils thanked everyone as I would not want to miss anyone at all. Thanks goes to each and every one who has made this possible. I have been sent an amazing set of pics. Bubbles looks surprisingly small, but in such good condition considering how she has lived for the last few weeks. Mind you Cheri's home cooking sounds very good, and eventually did the trick. Well done all, and welcome home Bubbles. Two pics on in a mo. I can change them if anyone prefers different. Or we can see others on another day. What a lovely ending ! Bubbles - I am so pleased to hear you are safe at last.  I guess there's going to be one big (and tearful) reunion with Dorothy and everyone who has helped, in whatever way, to get you home.  Well done to you all, and I'm sure "along the way" friendships have been made which can only help other lost dogs in the area.  Stay safe from now on with Dorothy, and enjoy being reunited with your canine companions.  Very best wishes to you Dorothy and love and hugs to all your 4-legged family. Walked field off kennels and retrieved M’s cage etc. Then cooked bacon and boiled kettle (whistler) at site 2 until Sheri et al joined me. Returned to site 3 to find she had been up to a residentsopen back gate at 1pm (but not through) and then sat on his front door step but when he opened front door walked away. Will pm team further details of plans in operation now. Other sitings from other residents at site 3 too. Home tired but satisfied geting really close now

Hi, Just back. Loads of sightings, she is getting famous! 3 main areas, as Muns said we missed her by about 20 mins, she turned up at one regular place as sunday dinner was cooking - should have known. Dave had his scent dogs with him so might get a hint of the route she is using. Shez, Sue & Hubby, PFK and Dorothy remaining, has to be soon though. Lots of suitable hiding places and all who saw her said she is looking very well and happy. Time to give yourself up Bubbles!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There were no sightings reported yesterday Shez, (although my husband went to newest feed station and was told seen next door there in barn before Christmas) I sent you several e mails-did you get them? PJK was going to go but went down with sickness bug and was very poorly. If better he intends to be there tomorrow. If sightings will contact you immediately-otherwise we stick to the plan.

Really sorry to lose you Madmutz but understand perfectly re family etc Hopefully Shez is still happy to check as works 3 mins away? PFK I think Shez is your best contact to show you around. Being 65 miles away I can only manage distant support tho we did spend 2 days there last week. Happy to help as and when needed if we need a team there again. I am sure we are on the right track with the plans we rganised yesterday. Can you post please Shez to update your availability?

Sorry to have missed you Amanda, I will try to pick it up but need to know contact details of sightings if they could be emailed to us please.  I was hoping to make a larger trap today but I now have a vets visit scheduled.  Very nice to see you back Fly and thanks for the email.  It looks as though Friday afternoon will be my first block of free time for a walk round but I will try to get out earlier.

So sorry to be losing Amanda, have sent text. This team of people have been wonderful, going out several times a day in some cases and in the worst weathers, for the sole reason to help Bubbles! I agree with Susie Team Work is important. Bubbles is what this is about isn't it, everyone has been doing what they can and visiting the site when they can, lets hope Bubbles found a warm spot last night and some sunshine this morning poor baby. Fingers crossed she is the one taking the food and forms a routine so we can get her holed up and sent safely back to Dorothy.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have tried  to speak with you this evening muns to discuss this, but have been unable to reach you. As far as I know the same plan is still on track. Nothing has been changed. After speaking with PFK, I have understood that they will assist as soon as a day can be arranged, and I have left it that madmutz would tie up with them direct if she is willing and able to do that. l hope that Bubbles will be back home very soon now.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We haven’t seen |bubbles feeding at any of the stations but the feed has gone from all 3 places now but regularly from station 3. I spent a fair while today e mailing and phoning and sorting out our tactics following queries from people on the ground. I also spent 2 days last week travelling 130 miles to search. I am a bit fed up of wasting my time..and being addressed like a child by someone who has not even visited the site, but rearranges and crtisises plans that folk on the ground feel are sensible. Food had gone from the cage now and no one was going to introduce the trap/cage quickly. Dave, Madmutz, Shez, Marian and Fly were all consulted and an agreed plan was made.

Hi everyone - just in from work - so have had to catch up with all emails and latest news. Welcome on board PFK - absolutely brilliant you are here with us on this one. I was only reading your site last night, and I do read it often, and I can only say thank you so much for all the dogs you help, and save from being PTS. I am quite happy for PFK to liaise directly with madmutz on this, but as I see it, until we are absolutely sure it is Bubbles taking the food from food station 3, we cannot withdraw food from station 2, as this could be her main source. HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY SEEN BUBBLES TAKING FOOD FROM STATION 3 TODAY? Cheri? Also- until she is regularly taking food from station 3, I fear that placing a trap too soon, will scare her into moving location. We only started feeding at third place yesterday so it all a bit too soon. Maybe over tomorrow and the next day she will be seen there and then we can stop placing food at station 2. Sorry - hope this is making scence. Also we must remember she did not go near the cage - so the trap may also frighten her. Is it a large one PFK?  She wouldnt go near the small one that was placed. Also- until have specific feed times running - we are not going to know when someone should be on site to operate the trap. Plan is fine, and great that PFK will help - just very concerned this is moving too fast.  It could be foxes taking the food and not Bubbles - until she is seen there for a couple of days, I think we should hold back as we could scare her off completely. Comments please then LOL x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I will refresh food in morning if you want me to, just dont want to frighten her off. sheriLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The call was from someone that Muns must have spoken to yesterday on North Brink. He had just seen her but she would not come to him and vanished into his orchard. Madmutz was already heading for the area. Could be after the warden thing that she is frightened of men. She really needs to be back with her family.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the text muns. I know this has probably been very disappointing and frustrating today, but there is more good news here than bad, and I reckon you are right in thinking she was not very far away today. I have spoken with madmutz, and hopefully with the continued help of Cheri, we can get Bubbles home. It may just take a bit longer to gain her complete confidence. At least we know she's definitely still there, even if not quite ready to give herself up. Well done everyone for today. You did brilliantly.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi - All as Muns and Madmutz reported. We went to a large house opposite the corner we had been concentrating on and spoke to one of the carers (its a special needs school). They SAW Bubbles Wednesday around 8 am when the shifts changed she was outside their kitchen window. This backs on to the big field. They told us they knew the farmer and said he wouldn't mind us seaching any outbuildings - which we did. Everyone did great and posters are everywhere. Madmutz and Sheri are doing a great job with the food trips. I had the feeling she wasn't far away too, she is probably doing the feral thing dawn and dusk then hiding. On way home went back along the top roads and put flyers in doors justt in case. It really is so frustrating - but great to know she is taking care of herself until we can get her back to Dorothy.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well today was not, unfortunately, the day but there were some paw prints at the back of the barn and we spoke to several people who have seen Bubbles including one man who walked his dog round the field and Bubbles came to see his dog (about a week ago) 2 sightings also at a further field and we tramped what seemed like miles round fields and spotted many little paw prints. Many more folk aware and posters up-the day will come when someone phones in time. The good news is we are in the right place-just got to get the time right! Met Sheri who together with Madmutz is going to continue the vigil and feeding-lovely ladies! We decided taking a dog along may coax her out, in view of what our dog walker told us. We did have Sally (Bubbles dog mom) there today but Bubbles was not to be seen We will all feel better when we get a recent sighting (post fireworks New Year's Eve) Marian moved the nest nearer to a patch of paw prints and nearer cover.

I don't know if you are able to do a barbecue (think you've done one?) with garlic sausages because this often works - a dog can smell them from a long way off.  Wrap up warm and if poss do it each night to tempt her in.  Good luck - come on Bubbles it's much nicer in the warm at home with Mum. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everybody , went to both sites early this morning stayed for a couple of hours just walking around the areas but no sign sadly, the food is untouched in the cage and also the barn entrance. but there were some  fireworks in the area last night so maybe that scared her into staying put. i am returning about 4/5pm before it gets too dark to have another look, i have got some tripe sticks so i will put them there and replace the food with some fresh, dont know if anybody has any ideas, i am at work tomorrow(fri) but i will go there at 7am before work just in case.. sorry there is no more news sheri Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You are all doing such a brilliant job, I hope Bubbles is safely home in no time now.  If you think she's still wary of the cage it's sometimes worth camouflaging it by covering it over with dull coloured (or camo) cloth/blanket but it may be best not to change anything at this stage.  She should go in for the food when she's ready.  Tripe sticks often work they smell for miles!  Come on Bubbles, everyone's trying so hard for you, you sweet little girl. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

One thing for sure - the amount of time she's been out there she's had time to sort out her regular routes and may even have spread further out. She will have sorted one of two different shelters for herself I'm sure, and will be keeping out of these freezing conditions. Many loose dogs also travel or rest in ditches, wherever there are any, which would explain very few sightings. Quite a little survivor.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Madmutz - thank you so much for your amazing effort. It must be bitter out there in those freezing fields for you tramping about. I wonder - is the barn the sort of place that the kindly farmer would be able to leave the door open?  Also, the little cage - I think the door needs to be propped well back and propped open - so not too look like a trap. he may even allow you to place it inside? Just a thought LOL !  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This has really moved on now at last, and hopefully Dorothy is now far more positive. We CAN get this dog home, but it may take time and a lot of patience, with Dorothy hitching lifts or whatever it takes to get up there herself sometimes as well. Scent is going to have to be laid regularly and by the sounds of it maybe further up that other field. Would possibly be a good idea to move the nest further up there, but maybe see what happens tomorrow. It may be that it is a foreign object just appeared out of nowhere, and all animals, even the wild ones are very unsure of it - possibly think it is a trap. ( Thanks for the photos by the way ! great to see some of you, and how you've set the cage up.) I think perhaps because it is sort of in an open position it could appear quite scary. I know you may have no alternative, but may be worth placing it somewhere more secluded. Sorry - have not been myself, so there may be no bushes or woody bits to hide it up. It may be just like when you put out a new bird table, it takes a few days for the birds to venture near.   I'm still struggling to work out when the actual last sighting was. Are we saying it was in the top field by the barn, and a later date than by the kennels, or would it perhaps have been the same day? If so, no sightings since Xmas then?  Just wondering about changing the position of the cage. Re- the article in the paper - i will bump Bubbles up tonight, to coincide with the paper coming out tomorrow. Sounds like we could do with more posters out there. I know there are helpers reading this who are not registered Doglost helpers yet. If those lovelies want the poster, please email me on yasa02@live.co.uk    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It was the lady Madmutz met who saw Bubbles in the new field (not farmer) but this lady gave us the farmer’s name and Madmutz rang me with the info, so I was able to find his number and talk to him. He is lovely and really helpful. I got his e mail address and sent a poster and I have asked if he can look inside the barn in his field for any sign of Bubbles in there. A real breakthrough Madmutz-great work! We may need to move our nestbut so heartening to have more sightings. Article in paper tomorrow so would be great to bump to top please Yasa.

Hi All...Just to let you know i got there this morning around 10.30,checked the nest etc,no food had been eaten so left more and fresh water...Spoke to a lovely couple who live close to the field (also gave me the name of the farmer who owns the fields bubbles has been spotted in),the lady saw Bubbles a few days before christmas in a field further up Magzine Lane with a large barn in,so went up there and had a look around, left food/water by the barn door as couldnt get in it to look as door was padlocked but a small dog could get in there for shelter..Spoke to Muns on the phone and she managed to contact the owner of the field and he is fine about us being there and he will keep his eyes open and hopefully Muns was going to ask him if he could have a look inside the barn for us :-) Sorry couldnt bring you anymore positive news but lets all keep fingers crossed for Bubbles as its so cold out at nights now xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks everyone for what you are doing. It means so much that so many people are helping and Amanda going back to check for her. Also to have another pair of eyes watching the field each morning. Cute as Bubbles is she could kill to eat. You should see her speeding after a rat!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi All - Agree with all that's been said. Just before I left a lovely lady Called Sheri who reads this page and travels past the field on a daily basis, took some posters and has offered to leave home earlier and stop at the corner and check with field glasses, she has also taken posters to put in local vets and shops. Many Thanks Sheri - welcome to DL. I also saw Michell - who rund the cat part of TJC (we passed vehicle to vehicle!) in Magazine Lane - she is still looking out on all her trips and throughout the day from the actual kennels premises which is very close to the field. What a fantastic bunch of people - but then DL people are just that!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well done each and every one of you for today. You may not have found Bubbles yet, but you have done so much today to keep her in the area and to spread the word, that hopefully there will be another sighting soon. Brilliant that you set up the nest and have left scent. She's a clever girl and I'm sure that even if the food gets eaten by foxes, she will still come back there, and with madmutz kindly re-visiting the site, the smell can be re-plenished. Fortunately although freezing today, its still dry - so scent will remain. Just want to make it plain that BUBBLES IS SPAYED - so no good to anyone for breeding purposes who may find, and decide to keep her. Thank you all again, for what you have done for Dorothy today, and we wish madmutz all the best for tomorrow. What a lovely lady to do that. Thank you so much madmutz. You are a star ! Also - brilliant article there -- and when its published on Wednesday I will bump Bubbles back to the top.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No sighting of Bubbles..we have postered/put the word about with local people/travelling community nearby We had a bar-b-q in the field where last sighting and left food/cage with bedding to try to keep her in same area and i will go back tomorrow morning to check it and leave more food/water..We walked Sally (bubbles mum) around to leave her scent,at least people who live in area knows about her now and will keep eyes open. Fingers crossed she gives herself up soon as she needs to be home with her mum and in the warm xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi all Marian, Dorothy, Madmutz, Fly and I all went to look for Bubbles today. No sightings unfortunately but we 'stpread' the word, put up more posters and visited local travellers camps-there are a few permanent ones nearby- and everyone we spoke to responded well.Marian had a cage which we set up as a 'nest' at the side of the ploughed field with scent from Sally -Bubbles mom who was there- and also from Dorothy. We lit a barbeque and cooked sausages and left them near and inside the cage. Madmutz being nearest is going to check the cage every morning. That said, Madmutz was there early and saw 2 foxes this a.m., so though we spotted some 'dog poo' at the side of the field we could not be sure if it was Bubbles or not. Fly took a photo which she is going to send in. There are loads of places for a dog to hide-sheds, greenhouses etc and nobody has spotted her recently but we reckon she is probably out and about in the twilght hours now. We put a poster in the local PO too. I think some pressure to include her story in the local paper wpould be good.

Good work on here girls. Getting some very positive vibes now, and the barbie plan is brilliant if you can manage to do that. Bubbles should be able to smell sausages for miles. Dont forget to get some 'full' lemonade bottles from Dorothy for scenting. Just not sure its a good idea to have other dogs around tomorrow. Would be better with just Dorothy's crew if that can be arranged. I hope the weather will stay kind to you. Good Luck everyone x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Madmutz Latest plan is that we will all meet up (including Marian with Dorothy and Sally-Bubbles mom) at North Brink and have a concerted effort to barbeque, make a den and inform locals and newspapersMy mobile number is on earlier message to Marian. I will be later than 8a.m because of distance but be good to have you there, especially since sounds like you are nearest and may be best placed to keep an eye on the den etc should we not get her tomorrow.

We (Muns & I) with Dorothy/Sally the dog and Marion if possible - are currently trying to make a plan to meet up tomorrow at North Brink and do whatever is possible and necessary to hopefully find Bubbles and if not to liaise with local people andleave some sort of shelter and food. I have been speaking with North Brink Police station and they are very sympathetic and we are invited to call in tomorrow for information, like who the farmer is etc. They also sugggested going to the newspaper office in person. Lady from the kennels said she saw Bubbles  few days ago. She whistled and called her. She stopped, looked round and then carried on down Magazine Lane. It runs along by the field and there is a stream there so she can get water. I have been wondering if she was pacing that Sunday trying to get back to her usual haunt. I saw nothing in the Wisbech paper. So much for the council putting in an article, with picture, asking people to look in sheds etc. Another week they have wasted.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am willing to take a crate over on Monday, but would prefer to get the farmer's permission first - any ideas? We left the food and smellies on a headland in the field. I hope my info is out of date, but I am only aware of one sighting, which is now one week ago. I am also not confident that the crate would help unless someone is feeding regularly. Would Wisbech dog warden or someone from the kennels would be willing to leave food  regularly, as I can't get over from Peterborough very often?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes It's really heartening that she has been seen around and with local people looking now it is all good. I agree with trying some sort of den for her-she is obviously a little scared of strangers after her episode. I also think taking the other dogs as and when it's possible is a good idea. If it's a safe place they can run around she may come out of hiding if she senses them. Knowing she is still around there is great! :-)

The thing is Fly, we know she's in the area, and even if we get sightings, there's no way that Dorothy can get there in time, and we're all too far away. I think she needs to get Bubbles going back to this 'cage den ' regularly, and may be kipping down there, so that she never goes far from the place - perhaps then, one time when Dorothy goes, she'll be lucky enough to find her there. Cant see any other way of working it. Someone else - perhaps the DW's could use Dorothys diluted scent from bottle to put around the area if she couldnt get there all the time, but at least that would keep Bubbles going back. I'm quite hopefull with this now. It just needs organising.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Yasa - Yes I've been thinking along the same lines, if we can find out where she is hiding out we might be able to take something from Dorothy's, balnket or something with smells of home on it and then get a local helper to watch, but she'll be so wary after the wardens van incident. I noticed today there are at least 2 vets at North Brink if anyone is in that area might be worth putting up posters in the waiting rooms and any pet shops/pubs /playgroups (kids recognise dogs quickly), all the usual poster places. Wish I was nearer.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you to everyone who has kindly helped Dorothy this last couple of days, and now Bubbles has been seen to still be in the area, I think you are doing very well. She has obviously got a good food and water suppy to be in such good health and still in the area. I wonder if she may be tempted to venture out if Dorothy took all,  of the other dogs and they could be made to bark or yap about. She may come out for them. It may also be the sound of the dogs in the kenels thats helping keep her in the area. Would it not be possible to place an old dog cage or crate somewhere safe, and laced with food as a permanent feeding station? It could be covered with old blankets and scented for her. It need not be set as a trap, but may just give her a base.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

She has spoken to some of the people who live near where she was seen (magazine lane off coxes lane) and they area aware of her and some are putting food out and looking out for her. Michelle says there is shelter and that she was looking ok and running well when she actually saw her. She said she whisted to her and called her name and she stopped and looked and then ran off. Thanks to everyone for all their help with postering and asking around. After that frost last night we have to hope she has found some place to hole up or that someone may have taken her in. As Muns said we will be going up soon. That’s brilliant news Marion. I would take Bubbles mom with you-Bubbles may sense her if she is around. As for local people to watch a trap, I guess the only thing you can do is knock on doors-the kennels may be willing-the worst they can say is ’No’ I am just so happy someone is going to get D there. Good luck and do post how you get on. Praying for your success

I am taking Dorothy over to Wisbech tomorrow to look for Bubbles. We will take scented items and food - any other ideas not already on the thread? Should we take Bubbles' mum, Sally, along? I have 2 crates that can adapt into a manual trap (used on railway land here in Peterborough to catch a little stray now succesfully homed) but I live 20 miles away and can't man it without local help. Of course the kennels used by the dog wardens are nearby. Is there anyone who could put pressure on them to help? The dog warden service here has gone to pieces without a dedicated warden, so I don't expect any sense from this end.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

THERE HAS BEEN A SIGHTING - same area as lost from - North Brink. Have just spoken to Dorothy. Dog wardens have seen Bubbles and went to pick Dorothy up and take her there, but obviously she had gone, or taken cover by then. Her footprints were in the mud. If they are going to try to use a trap, I have suggested to Dorothy she ask them to take some of her bedding and Bubbles toys etc and place inside a trap with the food. This is really promising now. Lets wish them the very best of luck. Hopefully Bubbles will be home safe for Christmas now.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

mab - have you managed to call all the numbers you've been given? I'm concerned that some of the vets and rescues dont have email addies and definitely need to be rung, also we can't rely on them picking up their emails very often as most of them are really busy. Think I only sent you Cambs vets list. If you would like suffolk, Norfolk and Links we can email those to you. You  need to be doing another press release now, if the council has definitely done one and there's been no response. Need to reach as many people in one hit as possible. I'm hoping she's been picked up to keep her safe, and the person has not reported her as thinks she has been dumped. Need publicity everywhere as we've not had one sighting yet. Also the Dw's should be able to tell you which direction she went in. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Mab Don't give up Dorothy, you're doing all the right things, can u get the local newspaper interested? Its such a crying shame after all the help you've given to loads of other missing dogs in your area, so unfair. Perhaps you could contact the authorities who have the other two dogs and get them to walk the Mother dog near to where Bubbles went missing they may be able to sense each other. They do have a responsibility to you having taken on the temporary ownership. Bubbles should never have been loose. Will try to think of something practical - Fly xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thats kind of her - thanks Ashmark. This is our biggest trouble - the posters !! We are relying on the Dog wardens press release and word of mouth as I dont think there are many posters up. No fault at all of the poor owner - she really in a life tumoil at the moment - council move today - dog could be anywhere - no car - no relatives in the area. We are very thin on the ground for helpers this area also, unless there is anyone out there, not yet come forward who could get a few posters out. Email me on yasa02@hotmail.co.uk and I will gladly send you one. So many opportunities with xmas gatherings to put posters up and do hand outs. Any help would be wonderful. mab - thank you so much for posting. I realise the problem it is for you in the middle of a house move, and having to use the labrary computer. We are working very hard for you and Bubbles and hopefully the media coverage will bring her home. A4 poster done and emailed to all my contacts asking to spread the word. Stay safe Bubbles sweetheart x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Getting others back Mon. Hope they don't loose any of them. Poor Sally will be lost without her daughter not knowing why she isn't with her and a different home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owners Post copied from Millie's page PE13 -ID 16253 Was not able to see dog warden as he was in a meeting and will not be available until after the New Year. Photos were taken in to him and it is definately Bubbles who is missing and will be very, very frightened. Story should have gone in the Wisbech paper today but I could not get a copy.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have sent a picture. She was still a puppy then but it is the only one that I have. Went to a local radio today. The lady could not say whether it would go on but she is keeping her fingers crossed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for information. I have had a look but unfortunately it is not her. She will be very frightened as she does not even like going for walks prefering the garden. If she had not been followed for 3/4 hrs she would probably have found her way back to her mum who must be going frantic.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is a white staffie being held by the East Lindsey dog warden, doesn't say if it is a dog or a bitch. Can't see any brindle but not a good picture. Her is the link.   http://www.e-lindsey.gov.uk/environment/dogs/lost_dogs/found_dogs.cfmLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
