andreak - ranger has settled back into life very well, he's been back here a week now and is steadily putting the weight back on that he lost during his absence, our other greyhound, bella, who was missing him terribly, has also go used to having him home. apart from the fact he now eats dogfood (something he wouldn't entertain before) everything seems almost back to normal. thanks again to everyone who helped, we'll never forget

I will second that owner! It is lovely that so many people (strangers...but dog owners can care so much and work together and get a result) But the cold hard fact is phone bills have to be paid....so go for it... and have a wonderful Christmas..Thanks!

just for everybodys information, in the new year we will be taking legal advice with regard to taking action against broxbourne council. we feel that this whole situation could have been avoided if their facilities had been keep upto standard personally, despite the stress and expense that we and our friends and family have been through, i don't want to make any financial gain but i would like a public apology, remember this could have been anybody who exercised their dog in that supposed safe area. maybe we could make them give a donation to doglost.co.uk ?? we will keep you all posted

i just wanted to come on here to thank everybody for their help in finding our lost boy words cannot describe what the last week has been like, feelings that i would not wish on my worst enemy to the people, either dog walkers, joggers, walkers etc from goffs oak area, we can never thankyou enough for your help and kind words during the most difficult of times not sure if any of these people will see this but to everyone who came out to help look from areas far and wide, giving up their own free time

Just logged on to see this, I am so very happy that Ranger has been caught. His owners have worked very hard leafletting hundreds and hundreds of houses and it has paid off  - he was made the best known Greyhound in the home counties and well done to the motorists for stopping and help catch him. Ranger is homefor Christmas! Search party came across him running on a busy road...stopped all the traffic and other car owners stopped and helped and Ranger was rounded up...very pleased to see owners and tears all around.

Hiya, After my husband and I went along monday to help look for Ranger 1.30pm , I was suprised how much land there was the search around. I really feel we need more people to cover more land. I was search silver street at the same time as Ranger was stopped outside the chip shop in Goffs oak. I am going to go and help early hours of the morning. 4am I feel positive (ranger will be home soon) xxx

I will be in Goffs oak at 7.30am  - 8am (depending on traffic from Hitchin) tomorrow morning, and will have until 11am to help then I have to be in Colchester by 12ish. Is there anything you would like me to do or I can just look betwen the area's he has been spotted. I have mapped out his sightings and can use that as a guide. my Mobile is 07532 364166 and will have it on if there are anymore sightings and you need bodies in the area.

Rangers owners have hand delivered Flyers to several hundred houses and have another 600 flyers to go door to door tomorrow.

markstowell - under normal circumstances ranger is overly friendly with both people and other dogs...he has infact tried to get into other peoples cars before, however 6 nights on his own means i just don't know how he would be today we leafleted literally hundreds of houses in goffs oak and just a short while ago had a confirmed sighting on MONDAY 1.30 PM, he was outside POPEYES chipshop, NEWGATE STREET ROAD, GOFFS OAK we're so near yet so far, just don't seem to be in the right place at the right time

Has anybody contacted the scout camp at Cuffley ? as they will probebly have activities going on and they have 90 acres of land. I have just rung Cuffly camp and left a message for Jean and given her numbers to ring if anybody catches sight of him. Will Ranger come up to people or is he a nervous dog ?

Just got through to Waltham Cross delivery office and spoke to a really helpful lady who took all the details. She was going to speak to some of the drivers who cover the area straight away who will keep a look out. I gave her the mobile number on the contact details for any sightings.  Hope this proves to be useful.

Just phoned the Royal Mail delivery office at Hoddesdon and they say that Goffs Oak / Cheshunt is covered by the Waltham Cross office.  Have tried ringing them but there's no answer - no. is 01992 908208 if any one can give them a ring as i've got to leave for work now.

Might be worth giving the local Royal Mail Delivery office a ring to ask if ALL the posties in the area could keep a look out (especially the drivers who go to the more rural areas), if you haven't done so already.                                                                                          I think that the sorting office that covers the area must be the Hoddesdon one - 01992 463151 Thinking of you all xx

we've walked along and around as many of the public footpaths in the area today since first light without any further sucess its over 24hrs since the last sighting and we're feeling more than a little down at the moment rangers ears as tattooed with: (REMOVED FOR OWNERS PROTECTION) thanks to everyone who's been trying to help

Both ears are tattoed - awaiting detail from owners hopefully tonight, They saw Ranger yesterday at 2.30pm on farmland nr Silver Street/Halsted Hill at Goffs Oak but he was too far away to catch, they are still out looking as we speak.

Have there been any more sightings of Ranger since Saturday lunchtime?  Please don't give up hope - the more people that know that he's missing the more likely it is that you'll get sightings and clues as to his whereabouts. Have you tried asking your local paper/radio station to run a story? - might be worth a try.  Keep postering and putting the word around. Keep the faith! xx

Try getting the area where he went missing from up on Google Earth and marking the sightings of him with a cross.  You may see a pattern emerging as to his 'route' Good luck tomorrow!  xx

sorry meant to read him..sorry ranger reading the post about catching him ..with bramble lurcher bedfordshire ..he was always one step ahead but  he started to follow a route as such about 9 sqmiles area around his temporary home posters leaflets everyone knew he was being looked for & eventually was found,

after much searching today we have been informed  that ranger was on farmland in the CATTLEGATE ROAD / NORTHAW ROAD area in cuffley at lunchtime today (saturday), we're back tomorrow at first light with fingers and everything else crossed

today we have had several confirmed sightings of Ranger in the GOFFS OAK /ST JAMES area on Wednesday about an hour after he disappeared and also yesterday by a lady who left a message on our anwerphone. we havd spent the day leafleting in goffs oak hopefully he's around there somewhere

Ranger wasn't wearing a coat - just his housecollar and collar with a tag.  He is microchipped.  Hopefully the dog that has been found has been reunited with his owners.  A search party is going out to the area today and hopefully we will get some sightings.  Stay safe, Ranger!

Epping Forest dogwarden has rung to say she has picked up a black male Greyhound on her patch which is not too far away. Have given dog warden owners contact details. The found Greyhound was wearing a coat though.

AndreaK - He went missing or should say was last seen on Turners Hill, Cheshunt. He was running away towards the Cheshunt pond area. Hope this helps
