Dthorn ..I dont see how police can say it is a civil matter. Both dogs were stolen from you and police have given you a crime reference number confirming that a crime has been committed. I assume that both dogs have a stolen marker with the microchip company. Anybody who buys a dog from the back of a van knows full well that the deal is likely to be dodgy. I would suggest that you email stolen@doglost.co.uk to see if they may be able to offer advice or help. Good luck x

Storm is still missing no information on him

Lilly has been found someone bought her from the back of a van and the police will not return her as they was an innocent purchaser so it's now a civil matter.
They have refused to return her and they believe they now own her.
I'm looking to find a reputable lawyer if anyone could recommend thankyou

Police have ( following a warrant) rescued 15 dogs yesterday from Quedgeley - ( believed stolen) they r not at this stage releasing photos - please see Gloucestershire Constabulary fb page where details of each dog listed including 3 French bulldogs ( male and female) - You can email Neil.snaith@gloucestershire.pnn.police.U.K.
