Special thanks to Ashmark, Yasa, J MO and Badger for their help for Murray.  Think we - and Murray - should all have a Wee Dram tonight!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A lady found Murray just sitting in her garden today!  She has a dog of her own so Murray could have been looking for company.  She saw one of the many posters owner had put up, in the local vet and called owner.  What a reunion that must have been!  When I spoke to owner Murray was sleeping it off on his knee.  He sounds a lovely little boy, a typical Scottie and hopefully this will be his only encounter of this kind.  Owner is very grateful to all who have helped so much and hopes to post tomorrow with a reunited pic. I hope Murray's microchip details are up to date Simon, but let's hope he'll stay with his family from now on.  Welcome home little boy and love from us all especially those of us at the Scottie Fan Club!!! xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks so much everyone, I have limited access here on hol so it's good of everyone to help.  Hope you'll have a chance to get on here Simes to pick up any advice and encouragement.  You will need to call the microchip co. - if he is found and scanned they may not necessarily call you. Unfortunately Murray does not have a number on his tag. Yasa will have mentioned importance of getting leaflets all around both homes and alerting neighbours. What a lovely boy he is!  We must get him home safely. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just had a phone call from Murrays owner and she tells me he is NOT a Scottie x Cav he is a full pedigree Scottie. Have given advice of where to poster and scent. She also tells me he has his lead still attached so have told her to go back to the area he went missing from and check that he is not caught up somewhere. They are out looking for him right now and will be putting posters up very soon, have stressed how important this is, Suggested postering vets, rescue centres, local sorting office, taxi cab firms. big issue seller, schools, supermarkets, pet shops, grooming parlours and dog training clubs. Also told her to look in outhouses, sheds and garages in case he is locked in somewhere.Any more suggestions would be gratefully received.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks so much Badger.  Have now spoken to owner who is desparately looking for Murray.  He went missing on a walk and was last seen 1ml away in a small park next to Budgens in Arbury yesterday at 3.30pm. He has walked in this park 3-4 times before.  This is about 500mtrs from his 2nd home (the other is on opp side of Cambridge).  I have given a few scenting instructions and suggested putting pilchards, etc. down in garden & keeping an eye on it as he could head there. He is going in local paper and Wardens have been phoned.  Picture should be on site later today.  Ashmark has also kindly offered help. Stay safe little boy till you are found.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry to hear Murray is missing.  His details are now on the Scottie Rescue (STECS) website (www.stecs.net) so lots more people will get to know about him.  I have also contacted the Scottie Rescue Re-homing Coordinator for your area whose details are also on the website and I am sure she will help you all she can.  As an organisation STECS do care for Scottie Xs.  Hope this information helps you, and Murray is safely home very soon.  Please send a photo into Doglost asap so we know what the little chap looks like.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've contacted STECS and asked if they'd put him on their website.  Dogs do go back to the place where they went missing from so keep an eye open there and try some scenting with his toys, bedding, etc.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry to see this little chap has gone missing.  Can you please send pic to admin@doglost.co.uk a.s.a.p. so posters can be printed and put up.  You need to poster everywhere to make Murray known, also send to vets and phone & visit rescue centres where he would be taken if found.  Cox's Lane Holding Kennels 01945 583177, RSPCA Block Fen Animal Centre 0870 906 1426, Wood Green Animal Shelter 01480 830014, Care Dog Rescue 014936 53955.  Call Dog Wardens for the area by contacting your local council and keep calling. Do hope he will be home very soon. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
