Thank you for letting me know. Bella is very small - nearer to the size of an Italian greyhound. She wasn’t wearing a coat at the time. This must be someone else’s list pooch xx
Pauline
I saw what looked like a stray greyhound or lurched in Newbridge woods, Pickering. No nearby people. So I ilar colouring to photo, but this one had a coat on?
Hetty
Have you contacted the whippet rescue sites, and also keep check on whippets for sale on the freeads pages etc, there are dogs that have been found through this in the past, sometimes months later. So, hope you find her Claire

Claire
Please can the poster be changed. She has not been sighted. Many thanks
Mrs london
So sorry there’s no further news. Heartbreaking.. Have badger setts/fox holes around the area you last saw her been identified and checked? I know that’s probably very difficult due to the density of the forest cover...... x
Hetty
Claire, it must be heartbreaking for you, but she has to be somewhere, her microchip is a blessing in this respect. If you ever need someone to support you in your search, I can bring Esme whippet to help, I know it can be a very dark time. Trying to think positive thoughts though for sweet Bella.
Claire
Thank you so much for going up today. Yes I’ve put posters up in all the surrounding villages and around the forest. I m just preying for a little miracle now........ I miss her so much 😢
Hetty
WE went up to Cropton Forest yesterday, with my whippet and lurchers of my friend, it is such a vast area, and sadly did not see Bella, though we kept calling and whistling for her. I wondered if you have put posters in the local village pubs and notice boards, as information travels fast in villages. We saw one poster but sure you have put much more. We also saw some forest rangers whom we made aware, still hopeful that you find your lovely dog, Claire.
Claire
Spent a few days over there. We took Bellas mum who looks exactly the same and took her around to the people that had seen this dog. It wasn’t Bella. It was a bigger, older dog. Obviously this dog does need catching and does have an owner because it has a collar on. Thank you everybody for helping me 😢
Mrs london
I heard she’s been sighted in Wass woods yesterday too.... local dog walker told me. Would be good to get some posters out in the Wass /Ampleforth/Coxwold area..... It may not be her and it’s quite a way from Cropton(unless taken and dumped?) but no harm in spreading the word. Any searches planned? Drones ? We know not to approach and to contact owner but everyone needs reminding of that. What about a dog trapping team to try and secure tris dog-even if not Bella? Hoping and praying and spreading the word. X
Claire
People in Wass are saying they say her today at 3.30pm. She was scared and ran away. Another sighting of a dog tonight running on the road from Wass to Coxold.
Hetty
Will tell the dog walkers near me, and will look out for Bella on forest walks. Dogs usually eventually return to place where they went missing, so hope you find her.

Claire, please re-check area in case she ran headlong into a tree & maybe knocked herself out. I have known this happen before.
I will email general advice info.
Claire
We were running in the forest together and she dashed into the trees chasing something. This is very normal behaviour and then she always catches me up. This time she never caught me up.......
