  • Other Info Found injured this morning in back garden. I've seen this cat around Walker Avenue area of Bolton for at least two years. Taken to animal trust vets Bolton. Has been scanned and she does have a chip. If she is your cat you will need to contact them if the chip details aren't up to date. I have asked if I can adopt if she isn't claimed or the owner can't be traced but it isn't allowed therefore she won't be coming back to the area. Sorry no photo.

I may have a bit more detail - there is a cat posted on Animal Trust Bolton Facebook page for adoption. She is called Lucy, phone contact details out of date but the postcode on her chip is M26 which is Radcliffe, Stoneclough, Ringley and Prestolee. If this is the same cat I picked up then she is several miles from M26 area. I have contacted them for some clarity that this is the same cat. Last edited: 2019-10-30 10:07:40 by Jeffreysmummy

I will second that Pip. Ridiculous when you offered to pay for her treatment. And give her a home. Maybe her owners moved and left her behind . Unfortunately this isn`t uncommon. Keep us posted x

Don't feel terrible ,you have been very kind and considerate to get this cat help when injured and posted this straight away ,you have done the right thing and if I was the owner would be grateful you took the time to care - hopefully microchip will re-unite .Perhaps a few found posters on lamp posts too .

The Animal Trust Vets have said I can't adopt because I could be her owner getting free treatment and then claim her back. I thought it was harsh, she's chipped so they must know who her owner is even if they can't contact them. They've got my details, I've offered to pay for her treatment if the owner isn't found. I hope they change their minds. I feel terrible that I might have unwittingly taken someone's cat and they are looking for her.

Jeffreysmummy ... thanks so much for taking care of this cat and getting her vet attention. That doesn't make sense that you are happy to adopt her if owner is not found and they are saying that this isn't allowed .... 😡😡
