YIPEEE ! I am delighted to say I have just had a phone call from Brackens ecstatic owners and SHE IS BACK after 2 weeks and 4 days !! She ran off on the  first day in her new home and there have been just a few sightings of her. Then today the dog warden phoned and said a dog matching her description had been seen around a factory at Kirk Sandall. The owners rushed over with her sister( also rehomed to them) and after a struggle between them, the dog warden and other helpers this little girl was finally caught with the help of a fork lift truck which I believe the dog warden had to be lifted up on to reach her ! After a few nervous moments she recognised her sister and is now back at her new home and wont even be going out in to garden without a lead for some time now untill she reallys settles in her new home. She will be going to the vets for a check up and also to have one of her front paws looked at as it is very raw. When  I spoke to Bill her owner he said both Bracken and her sister were sitting on his wifes lap having a cuddle.I would also like to add that the  Sanctuary where she came from have given the owners a great deal of support in finding Bracken. Welcome home lovely little Bracken and have a wonderful and happy life with your sister in your loving new home xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have reloaded the picture to bring her closer, updated her page and added a mobile number to poster.  Briefly spoken to owner and emailed A4 poster and smaller posters also sent to jumanji and Tracyb.  Hope they help in the search for lovely Bracken and she is back with her new family and her sister.  Good luck.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

please note on reading my previous post back i have noticed  i made a mistake ! The sighting was in LARCH AVENUE and not  Larch Lane as I posted and also the sighting a couple of nights before that were in BEECH ROAD ! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There have been some SIGHTINGS  of little Bracken !! One yesterday Saturday 21st Sept in Larch Lane Armthorpe where the red collar was seen  and then 2 nights before that in Larch Lane also in Armthorpe. There have also been earlier sightings of her towards Kirksandal. One of these sightings was of her running along the road towards Kirksandal on the day she ran off. As the new sightings are nearer to where she ran off from it may be that she has retraced her steps. Bracken had only just arrived at her new home from a rescue when she ran off along with her sister and she will not know the area she is in at all or be able to find her way home. The new owners managed to recapture her sister who is now very happy and settled in her new home. We need to find little Bracken who is VERY nervous and frightened so she can join her sister in the lovely new home and be happy together. Please look out for Bracken ! xPam  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

the rescue this girl came from are actively helping the owners to find her and posters are being put up both locally and further afield. So far there have been no sightings of her at all and it may be she has run some distance and then gone to ground as when she escaped she bolted off very fast.Hoping there is some news of her very soon x PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

so sorry to see you have lost little Misty. She will be very frightened and bewildered. its vital that you get as many posters up as you can to raise as much public awareness for her . You can print them up from this site by clicking on 'dog poster' at the top of the information for Misty. Also inform the rescue you got her from and also all dog wardens and stray kennels for your area. As she wont know the area she is in she ay well hide up somewhere and so if you poster hopefully you wil start to get sightings of her. Is she microchipped to you or to the rescue she came from ? Hoping for some news on this girl very soon x PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry to hear Misty has run off from her new home, bless her she must be so confused. Please print of lots of posters and display them all around the area she went missing from. You can view and print the poster by clicking on to Dog poster 1 at the top of this page. Make sure you inform the dog warden and send a poster to all vets in the area. It would be a good idea to get someone from  the rescue centre you got her from to help with the search as Misty maybe more inclined to approach someone she is familiar with. She is probably holed up somewhere close by so be sure to check out any sheds, garages and outbuildings that she may have hidden in. Good luck with the search.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
